She came out very well, and the expressions on her both her and the tree are wonderful. She's proudly surveying her domain and the tree looks as if he ought to have a thought balloon containing the word "Yowza!"

Thank you for the kind reply, M'Lord! I am glad you like them...especially the expressions.

INCREDIBLE, SIMPLY STUNNING.  It is such a surprise, and beautiful, and sooooo intense.

I see Maria Callas, standing on stage, looking over her adoring fans, and she begins to intone...

La mamma morta, La mamma Morta...

and the audience goes bananas, while the tree listens in emotional

amazement !!!!

What a beautiful, power packed, and emotional figure this is.

Drop dead amazing.

What an inspiration !

Ya's done did it again !!!

Wow you did it!

Great sculpt, great paintjob!

She looks awesome!

Like others said the expression on her face and that of the tree, tells a story on it's own.

The interaction between the two is amazing.

This is my favorite piece so far.

She is THE or at least A Major Power in the Spooky Woods.

The tree is in awe of her and also a tad worried what she might come up with next...

I bow to your creativity!

That's yet another beautiful story telling tale scene. She's got style!

Thanks, Metalchaos. I am glad you like the Mushroom Witch & the Tree.

I think it's the way the cap resembles a fancy designer's hat that gives the Girl that tres chic something.

So impressive as always, Mal - your colour and just energy come off in every piece.

Love it!

Thanks, Guildenstern. I am delighted you feel that way...especially the color.

I actually have an abundance of energy of late. I'm not questioning a good thing, but I'm determined to knock things out while it lasts.

Thanks, Glitter. That photo got me inspired to make something similar. There is some story that the two are spinning. What that may be is up to the viewer.

Most of my stuff is inspired consciously or unconsciously from things that I have seen & loved, from Burton to Bugs to Froud to Henson. It is all a mix of my experiences.

I am delighted you like the piece.

This years Halloween Treat to myself was a Skeletal Plastic Mouse from World Market. I couldn't resist; re, it was Oh-So-Cool, whimsically cute, & inexpensive enough not to cause guilt tripping.
It was only when I got it home that the ears & nose registered as being singularly unskeleton like. SO I decided to Zombie it up with some patches of rotting flesh & hair. Here is the results:

This is The Mouse at an early stage of development with Leo Sizechek for an idea of just how big the Little Fellow is:

There you have it...so to speak.

I have been planning a few ore photo stages. The Trio of Trees will be movable props, & character actors in the cast.
They will eventually appear in somewhat fancier surroundings, but for their first presentation, they are seen here on my work table:

The Philosopher or Idiot...take your pick:

      The Conversation, Monk & Tree:

      AND the Group Portrait:

...if you go out in the Woods today, you're in for a big surprise.

SO, SisterMaryNapalm came across some Beastes to stick into flower pots:

AND thought my Mushrooms would be just the thing to enliven his Mom's flower pots.
Here's where they stood as of Tuesday:

He wanted them to be somewhere between 10" to a foot. The BBQ skewers were just the thing:

The stems & eyes were done by Tuesday evening:

Losing a day to World Series Game 7, the green stuffing started earlier today:

More later...later being a nebulous term.

For those that put beads in their paint to help with shaking what sized beads do you use? I was looking at some 8mm hematite beads but I want to be sure I get something that won't stick in the tip.
