Another great read.  Well done.

I can't wait to read Skorri's account of the action.

Thanks, Knabe!

I'm looking forward to seeing Skorri's side of the story as well.  Maybe you could urge him to write a little faster.

Well I finally finished my report for our Ghost Archipelago Campaign Game 4:  The Floating Hulks

It was another exciting game right down to the last die roll.  Hope you enjoy it.

I finally had a chance to read the Floating Hulks reports and it sounds like it was another brutal game with a high body count. Though I hate to say it, it is reassuring to see that the body count is high for everyone. After a few games I was starting to think I was a bad player.

Yes, it was brutal.  It's very hard to get out of a game without having at least a handful of figures falling.  That's one of the reasons i like it more than Frostgrave at the moment.  Our Frostgrave games had become too "gentlemanly" with everyone trying to use magic to avoid taking casualties while they grabbed the treasure.

We had our 5th game this past Saturday, and oh my, what a fiasco!   I need to learn how to start rolling dice better...::P:

"...Distracted by this new threat, the Wasp turned from the Archer and in a flash grabbed the unfortunate Crewman with two of it's good legs, and swinging it's body forward thrust it's long saber like stinger into Vilkse, before he even knew what hit him. The Elf crumpled to the ground, a gaping wound in his chest.  Salin now came up to join the fight, and swung wildly at the insect, his sword hitting, but not cutting into the beast's chitinous body. As the Beast turned to face this new threat, Randy saw his chance, and plunged his dagger into the Wasp's side... "

Well Skorri finally put quill to parchment and completed his log of his last expedition to one of the jungle covered islands of the Ghost Archipelago chain:  The Abandoned Watchtowers

Hope you enjoy it!

Skorri retrieves a treasure from Fortrywn's crew less than an inch from getting away (off the board).

Great report and photos, Knabe!    Well worth the wait. ::):

If you're going to beat Herndon, you're going to have to stop letting him walk away with the Central Treasure... ::P:

Six weeks later, and we finally got our June game played!   We did the Blood Totems scenario from the core rulebook, and it went really well.

Lord Fortrywn's report and a bunch of photos have been posted: The Blood Totems

"...Marny was still in the other valley with Finil.  She raised her hands to cast another Bramble spell, making sure the valley was well sealed off.   As the Warden finished, there was a sharp pain above her hip that quickly turned into a hot searing fire radiating up her back and down her right leg.  (-8 HP and Poisoned) She let out a cry as she stumbled forward  and fell to the ground.  Finil immediately saw the arrow sticking from her, and instinctively looked for the shooter.  There behind them, coming up near where they had entered the valley, was another Tribal Hunter.  Marny soon felt her stomach flipping over and a sourness rising in her throat.  Finil helped her pull the arrow.  "Some cover would be good now perhaps." he said through clenched teeth as he worked on her.  From her position on the ground, she weakly raised an arm towards the Tribal, and began the chant for the Brambles spell; but halfway through the spell her stomach inverted itself, the ground beneath her heaved, and turning her head, she vomited violently onto the valley floor.  "Stay here." Finil said, and rushed off to face the Tribal Hunter himself.  Seeing the Elf charging him,  the Hunter quickly fired another arrow, hitting Finil..."

I put together this Barrow from xps foam and a decopage cardboard treasure chest lid. I used a greenstuff world roller to texture the doorway and landing outside. It is all stuck together with super glue.

I was keen to make sure that there were flat areas for based minis in the front and at the rear. My minor mistake was making the rear plinth/hill a bit too narrow after sticking on the rear wall section, hence cutting out a slit.

When all the glue has dried I will prime it with a mix of mod podge and black paint. Then I will flock the top. I need to decide whether to make this snowy or green. I think that snow will cover more model making sins...

Painted a North Star Heritor for Ghost Archipelago, "Heritor II". The mini has been nicknamed in the fluff/lore as 'Big Red" so went for red hair.

One thing I was happy with was the base. I just used the "Wood" roller from "Greenstuff World" on some green stuff then stuck it to a washer. The wood grain roller doesn't work too well with foam but was ideal here. Then Vallejo have a paint/wash called "Woodgrain"  which nicely goes into all the folds creating depth and highlights. Good to have some literal paint names for once!

Have been stealing coffee stirrers for a while and thought I should disguise them.

This is a modular set of docks for pirate settings/City docks, ghost archipelago. All I did was make platforms of various heights with layers of foam core board. Then Iaid cross pieces and laid the decks on top, just using different thicknesses of coffee stirrers. The stanchions are just pva glued to the side of the foam core, under the decks rather than showing above them. I painted the foam core black and am painting the wood using the Crafting Muse video on YouTube as a guide. I won't be basing these.
The boat is a lucky find. It is a decoupage model ocean liner. I cut the top off and had a curved boat shape 15cm / 6" long and perfect for 8 models. Only £1.25 on sale. All I did was lay a deck of coffee stirrers then took some of the bits I cut off and glued them back on to the sides. Painted like the Dock. I don't want to add seats, mast, similar detail to this model to maximise how many based minis can stand in it.

Have got some Frostgrave explorers and some GA crew with a middle eastern focus.  Am getting better at kit bashing but these are the first mixed conversions using resin, metal, plastic and greenstuff. The Arabians are Gripping Beast middle eastern infantry and steppes infantry with Frostgrave GA crew arms. The explorers are Fireforge resin bodies, frostgrave or westwind pict heads and a mix of arms. C and C welcome.

      ATTENTION TABLE TOP RPGers!

It's been a while, so time to start up a group of gamers again.

I will be starting a Game Session ... once a month for 4, 6 or more hours at a session starting the week of my birth ... March's fourth week somewhere between the 19th and the 25th.  So this is an open invitation to any within driving range of Seneca Falls/Waterloo, NY area who are interested in participating in a month-to-month campaign.

This will be a Roleplaying Game with emphasis on the story and roleplaying. Naturally there will be some fighting, adventuring, exploring, thieving, and the like depending on the system chosen. I have two systems that I would like to run .. the first is one I have been sitting on for sometime and features a much more reasonable method of gaming than any system I've played and the second I have just acquired that is also a new style of system for me.

      DUNGEON WORLD
Regardless of your rolls, the story moves forward ... it just might be more complicated than it was a moment before. Fantasy setting with D&D like characters.

      MOUSE GUARD
Based on the comic/graphic novels of the same name. You are mice. Yup, standard size, like in the cover image of the book. But you are one of the Mouse Guard and sworn to protect Lockhaven and the Mouse Territories. The game uses a success dice (d6) system from Burning Wheel.

So, if you are interested in joining this gaming adventure, reply or message me to get an invite to the Facebook Group.
