@Kangaroorex just got back and was able to pick up Bill from my post office. The backstory was great, and then when I got to the bottom of the box I instantly started laughing like a mad scientist who's evil plans have come to fruition. Thank you so much. Will get shots of him this week to share.

Glad he made it safe and sound!  Also glad you like him.  I have his metal brother on my shelf (now with removable weapons pack too).  Unfortunately, mine is expressing himself in a NSFW gesture so he is not photogenic.

I hope he will eventually torture many groups of fortune seekers.

@magicalgenie, I received your box! Really fantastic colors on this guy, absolutely lovely! He will see use in my hand quite soon, I'm sure... And likely with the backstory you provided. Great fun.

In other news, I left a package in the tender care of the USPS today. Hopefully it will arrive on Friday.

Excellent! So glad you liked him. Was really hoping to have his pal painted too, but time got away from me.  Hope you get a chance to do something with that one in the future.

I will be sending my exchange on Monday, just waiting for the weather to change tomorrow so I can finish sealing.  I apologize again to my exchange partner for the delays.

Speaking of which, with a ton of help from @robinh we now have a ramp for my wife's father:

(Cameo by Tommy)

Railings will be built after I get back from the Montreal GP, but I feel better leaving with this much in place.

I'm a Lottle (it's like a little but a lot) late as I had time to picked up a paint brush in nearly 3 months now.   I got about 2 hrs yesterday and will have my mini finished tomorrow to post out on Monday!!!!

This exchange really got me out of my comfort zone. I will be skipping the Summer exchange (probably) but looking forward to both Fall and Secret Sophie!

Let me try and do justice to what was awaiting me on my porch when I got home tonight.

A mysteriously large package from Barlow, KY.....hmmmm

He was given some pretty vague directions -

" I would love a unique base; Mini will be for display not gaming."

 "a small vignette; Something glowing;"

"Beware of Dog!";

"Life and death are illusions. We are in a constant state of transformation."

In the package was this delightful guy:

With a super cool OSL effect.

Did I mention he was on this killer base???

Well played, @cerebro1974

Pity for all of us that you may sit out the next one.  I hope for your future partners, that you reconsider.

Awesome, awesome work.  Thank you so much...I've got the perfect spot on my display shelf for it.

I have sat out for the last few of these, but would like to jump back in for the next one. Due to not being actively involved in a current exchange, I am not great about checking this section of the board.

Can someone PM me when the next sign up starts? Thanks!

I can't do a summer one but can probably get in for a winter one. **maybe** fall. Life is hectic right now.

Received these beautiful minis from @Leopardpixie  I love Star Wars and she made a fantastic Jedi master. A couple of my favorite quotes I include for inspiration are "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" and "Something wicked this way comes". While the display could definitely fit either quote, I think it is "Something wicked this way comes" brought to life in mini form.

Thank you so much for the gorgeous minis!

My exchange partner this year was Fealron and one of the ideas suggested was a new enemy or villain to throw against his players.  I had this guy on hand and wondered if a giant werewolf would fit the bill:
      14030: Vasyl, Rageclaw Alpha

While I was painting that I came across these guys and they just begged to be henchmen:

The one in the middle I believe is an old Grenadier, the others are clix.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch I did a little digging and discovered that Fealron has a set of DwarvenForge, so I felt compelled to paint these as a gift.  It's all molded from Hirst Arts molds (except the barrel mimic).  I hope they provide hours of fun play.

My partner this time around was Clearman.  He requested a heroic character painted heroically, and nothing says heroic quite like the word "Hellknight."  Of course, I haven't actually played the adventure(s) that Pathfinder Hellknights appear in so maybe they are cuddly people.  We'll say she just finished up a heroic day of undead slaying.
Metals are TMM, which my camera hates, but I think I managed to get a few decent shots.  For something different I painted the base using pigments rather than hobby paints. I used the wet method of applying them and the color shift is huge, so I wasn't sure how they would come out until they dried.  Of course you can be intentionally sloppy because any pigments on the mini's boots just help "tie the figure to its base." I freehanded some wood grain onto the shaft of the weapon just to add some interest to the boring space.

Any interest in a new round of trading cards?
What is an artist trading card (ATC)?
Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized "swap" events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5" x 3.5". Most swaps are open to any media, materials or techniques as long as the card fits into a standard trading card sleeve.
If I can get 6 or more people I will set up a round of 1-1 trades for forum members. Post here or PM me if you'd like to participate.  I am thinking of an Oct 1 start date and Dec 1 due (in the mail) date.

well, he finally made it out of the house!  My exchange is officially in the mail.
My exchange partner had asked for something futuristic and something either goofy or scary, so of course I went with ludicrous.  What do you give the giant demonic poisonous spider that has it all?  high tech lasers and missile launchers!  I have been building and painting some of my eldar pieces and decided that they could use a mascot.
As for things I haven't done in a while.  I have started to play with decals again as a way of adding some interest to my larger grav tanks and space ships so I thought I would add a few here for fun.
The weapons pack is removable if my partner wants to use him as a basic giant spider (actually I got a few complaints from the arachnid union when we discussed permanent attachment...)  there are to pointy pins that attach the weapons pack to the back of the spider (bones material does have its uses.
So here is the Mark I demonic assault spider.  I hope everyone enjoys him!
