What was the most difficult technique you have ever attempted on a mini and how did it turn out?

Eyes.

Looked better in hand? than it did photographed. This is about the best pic:

Noob Alert! So, as far as technique, I don't think its a technique so much as merely something I tried. For me, the most difficult thing I've tried was to do a windscreen on a motorcycle. Results can be found here.

While it was far from perfect, I think it was pretty decent for a first attempt. As far as an actual "technique" goes, two brush blending is probably the toughest thing I've tried and I've had mixed success with it. Tend to do ok with the shades, not so much with the highlights, but am working on it. :)

Eyes are probably what annoys me the most but I am improving on them. Most difficult  was translucent fabric on a dress. I'm happy how it turned out although I know she won't win any awards around here. Lots of room for improvement.

Do you watch/follow any sports, if so what?

Do you play any sports, if so what?

For pro I follow my (formerly) local MLB team.  There's no NFL team within a 3 hour drive so I don't even worry about it.

For college I watch a lot of football and men's basketball, though not so much this year.  My team has been bad to mediocre these last few years but I still enjoy college sports.

Freehand I guess.  It turned out pretty well.  I can't recall trying OSL so I'll assume I haven't gotten around to it yet.

All Time:

Smaug, the quintessential dragon and the one that brought me into this world of fantasy in the first place.

Book:

Ruth from the Dragon Riders of Pern series

Movie:

Smaug was probably one of the best done movie dragons yet.

Miniature:

This has changed many times over the years, mostly as SG an JG have continually outdone themselves. The current leader though is BlackSting the Wyvern  by Julie G.  I know it is technically not a dragon, but it is draconic.  The composition in this piece astounds me.  I absolutely love it.

Spoiler

 Game System:

I have always really liked the D&D Bronze Dragon, this version in particular:

I have a real dislike for Dragons in all forms. It's a dislike that rivals snow, Winter, & miniature busts. It approaches my abhorrence to a certain politico.

The only dragon like critter I like is the Jabberwocky. He/she/ whatever is possessed of a wonderful silliness that lampoons his more serious brethren.

All Time:  Takhisis from Dragonlance.

Book:  Dunkelzahn, he just couldn't get a break!

Movie:  Draco from Dragonheart.  Cranky old dragon.

Miniature:  Own:  77580 Ma'al Drakar the Dragon Tyrant.  Covet:  Ral Partha Limited Edition Takhisis.

Game System:  Black Dragons of Krynn from Second Edition AD&D.  It's where I cut my RPG teeth, and Khisanth's painting in Xak Tsaroth has this serpentine look that solidified what Black Dragons should look like to me.

All Time: Smaug, I suppose. Like others I don't have an massive interest in the species as a whole.

Book: Errol in the Discworld novels

Miniature.: Gauth in the new core set will be my first.

P.S. when I first typed this auto-correct altered "Gauth in core set" to "Gauth in corset". That might be an interesting conversion...
