He looks great!    Is it your first mini altogether, or just your first from Reaper?

And, welcome to the forum, and congrats on your first post! ::):

Hi

Many thanks...

it's my first reaper mini, I sort of stumbled across them on eBay

I have painted some 28mm Napoleonic figures,   but I am a newbie to the hobby.    Have another reaper (ogre) figure on order.

Welcome to the Forum!

Nice!

Take a look around on this Forum, you will find many useful advice and tips.

Also I recommend watching Youtube vids, search for painting fantasy minatures.

People here like to help each other in learning new techniques.

Have fun because thatś what it's all about.

Keep posting minis!

Hm...

I see one thing wrong with this mini, and it's a major flaw.

There's ONLY ONE PICTURE!

That is of course totally unacceptable, and must be corrected at once!

Also, I'd suggest you add tags to this topic. (Edit the first post to do so), and add your username as one tag, the SKU of the mini as another, and (for non-reaper minis) the manufacturer name.

It makes it much easier to search for cntents.

Wait, just one mini on order? I don't understand, how did you break the compulsion to buy lots and lots of minis??  :p

Seriously though, great start and keep it up. These forums are pure gold for advice. So much so that most of what I know (which isn't much) has come from here. Everyone is great on here and is more than happy to help!

Welcome to the forums and looking forward to seeing more!

Oh, and if you see something in purple it means that its a joke.

You can say that about ANY paint brand when you have 20* colours...

If you have the money to spare, I would suggest you check out the Bones 4 Kickstarter;

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1513061270/reaper-miniatures-bones-4-mr-bones-epic-adventure

Just check out the pictures, then head over to the Pledge Manager...

After the fact pledgers will have to pay more than those who backed during the KS, but it's still cheaper than what they'll cost retail.

Check out Miniature Heroes for a reseller in England.

For other armies, you can try Alternative Armies, Fighting 15s or Tritex. Lots of good stuff there.

For the cutesy armies, pick Badgers & Burrows from Oathsworn.

And their Heroines In Sensible Shoes is a sight to behold. Not  single chainmail bikini... But one BadElf half-orc...

Check out the Kickstarter area here on the forum to find running projects worth joining, and be very careful around the Aquisitions thread in the Off-topic section.

* This is Goblin Math. Basically, a Goblin can easily count to 10, then if he removes his shoes or boots, to 20... Then he kind of... derails...

1, 2, 3 .... 8, 9, 10, hold on a moment, 11, 12 ... 18, 19, 20 ... uh... 20? uh... 20?

Both similar to and wildly different from Troll Math, which goes 0, 1, 2, many, uh?.. Lots... Unless the ambient temperature drops into the range of liquid Nitrogen or something, in which case there may be not just more numbers, but also letters and more than one type of brackets...
