I was looking for an excuse to paint all of my Non-Egyptian Undead ( those are in my Lost World already) and Chaos things.

When I'm done it will be like several smaller armies tied together to form a huge coalition of evil.

Maybe I should have named this thread The Dark Alliance instead of Children of the Grave..but it stuck..it is a song from Black Sabbath and I found it suitable,..

If you include enough things that really don't go together you will blow the theme of your Lost World.

Egyptians, Africans, Japanese, Pirates...they could all be lead by an undead Napoleon & defending

the Eiffel Tower. Start a separate project  or projects. You don't have to lump everything together. You

are young enough to see a few different major projects to completion.

Addendum: I thought I was posting to your Lost World Thread...Oops, but it still hold true. A collection of

all sorts of Undead would be interesting, but not if you try to tie them all together. Having a Van Helsing

style Vampire Slayer travelling the World hunting down all the various types of Deadites might work.

I agree with what Malefactus said, very good advice there!

Very cool project, too!

How about an ancient evil leading them.....is there such a thing as a lichified dragon?

With that said, an excellent entry to all of this might be Vordakai the cyclopean lich. Granted, not as subtle as perhaps a vampire or other necromancer/lich might be but hey, if yer a lich ye can probably change shape too!  :)

I haet you Garg! Lol  Now I need to order another mini......

Yup, Kaladrax or Nethyrmaul .

I have them both...and a RAFM Necrodrake.

We'll see who will lead the Undead Legion.

Currently making a shopping list for future references, wow, the Reaperstore has many awesome Undead.

Many many...

Well naturally there will be a number of candidates for the throne, all with what he, she, or it believes to be the most legitimate claim. So really, the only way to decide is to PAINT ALL THE THINGS and throw them into a battle royale where the last undead standing/slithering/flying gets to rule the roost. I mean, how cool would that be? Especially for those of us that just have to look at all the wonderfully painted undeads! :B):

A rotting stench catches you nose. You see a creature slowly moving in your direction waving a dagger. At first, it looks like a beggar wearing rags. He utters a low moan and you realize as it's coming out of the shadows that he's missing part of its scalp and has a gaping hole in its abdomen through which you see his ribs and his petrified organs. Turning to the cleric, you scream with horror. Zombie!
Here's 02102, Plague Zombie, Dark Heaven Legends sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
It's the second time i paint this model, here's the link to 02043: Undead Rising, 02102: Plague Zombie & 02157: Undead Awakening I painted 10 years ago.

The door opens to reveal a room filled with bones. There are large and small ribs and leg bones, bare and white, piled ankle deep, with a huge pile in the center. The large pile is topped by a cow’s skull, and you see numerous other skulls, shattered and broken, hidden among other bones. As you enter the room, the pile of bones stirs from its resting place. It rises from a crouch to reveal a fully constructed minotaur skeleton. Within its bovine flicker twin motes of malevolent light. Jeff Grubb – Wrath of the Minotaur.

It’s the second time I paint this awesome 77559, Undying Minotaur, Dark Heaven Bones 50mm tall model sculpted by Bob Rodolfi. I painted this Bones version for the D&D Fast-Play Adventure Wrath of the Minotaur.

As you explore the ossuary, you hear wailings coming from a dark corner behind a sarcophagus. You see what seems to be a lost child, squatting and shivering. Chills run down your spine, when you first apprehension turns out to be dreadfully wrong. This foul creature has mottled decaying flesh, its eyes burn of hatred as it looks at you with a grim smile... Not a Reaper Miniatures but I thought some of you might like that Old school Citadel miniatures FTD-12 Dwarf Children (girl), distributed in North America by RAFM back in 1981. I painted it with acrylics as a child-sized Ghoul for the purpose of a DnD game need.

Here the second of my august bunch: Reaper's 60161 "Ilnerik Sinvanshin", a vampire from Pathfinder setting.
On my setting, though, he's Faude Carfilhiot, a perfect homunculus created by the archalchemist Pandelume. A wizard, alchemist, dangerous figure with a taste for cruelty.

Here, yet again, I used that frightening black & white palette, with - I think - moderate success: I could still have been a bit smoother on the black highlights. It's a very delicate figure, small details everywhere, lots of texture changes on the clothing. I tried (again) to convey an albino look. I cut off the metal strip to use that resin mosaic textured base, which I painted with the same black & white palette.
