Grendel has some generic resin war machines

The projectile on the left is almost exactly what a Warcraft II ballista unit fired. And there was gunpowder under its metal nose cone.

Auld Grump, you're telling me the man mangler isn't historically accurate? ::o: This is someone else's and nicer looking but I just finished painting mine. Didn't realise that it was supposed to have shields at the top and that I don't have the closest 2 of those crew. I took some photos a few days ago but haven't loaded them on the computer yet.

Man-Mangler.jpg

That's gorgeous!

Who makes it?

It was a Games Workshop model from in the late 80s. I'm not sure what they're worth now because I bought mine about 12 years ago.

I kind of expected it to be expensive. I know I didn't pay that much for it back then. If I'd only know (and had the money) I would have stocked up on GW stuff back in the 80s.

Well, poop!

Went looking.

$80.

Some people believe vintage minis are made of gold or platinum...

Today I received a Grenadier set from the evilbay, Undead Chariot.

This one was the first at a reasonable price I found in years, most are easily around $100.

I refuse to pay that much.

I'm not an alchemist who turns lead into gold you know..

Warmonger Miniatures (fantasy line from Wargames Foundry) has something similar to the Orc Man-Mangler in the goblin range, if you are so interested...

I wasn't really thinking of more artillery for my goblins but you never know. I'll have to check it out. They're sort of an ever growing army as I pick up odds and ends here and there. The funny part with them is even though they're supposed to be sort of a horde army mine are out numbered by my more elite armies of elves and romans. I only have a few more than what is standard while most of my armies have every option possible.

Grump looked at it and said it wouldn't be able to fire.

The weight would hit the ground, and would need to swing free to work.

Pretty sure he's BUILT trebuchet, half the group is in the SCA.
