Nice work!

Is it wrong of me to say he looks very cuddly?

Thx!

Cuddly?

You DID notice the skull on the base did you?

That was the last person who wanted to cuddle with the bear...

Not your typical teddy bear, approaching would have dire consequences..

Yet another great job Glitter-san, kudos!

Nice-looking bear! It just so happens that I'm also working on painting up my Dire Bear right now. I'm a newb mini- painter and so far I'm not particularly satisfied with my results. I have painted up a dozen or so  minis and found them all leaving much to be desired. This dire bear is my latest attempt at getting a mini painted up properly. I was actually checking out scalehunter's Bones #3 road to improvement post when I came across your works. I was impressed by many of your minis. To be honest I've been a bit frustrated so far, which is one of the main reasons why I decided to join up here and perhaps get some painter's tips and general insight from some of you who have been doing this for awhile.

I'd love to post a pic of my WIP Dire Bear for thoughts and suggestions. I wanted to post a pic here but I was afraid it might be rude or against the rules to post my own pics on a thread meant to showcase your bear. I read the forum guidelines and didn't see anything, but I thought I would ask here first just to be sure.

You can always post a WIP and ask for help.

And I don't mind if you post a pic here.

The fur was mainly done by basecoating Reaper Walnut Brown, then Drybrush with P3 Bloodtracker Brown, then with P3 Beasthide and then with a mix of P3 Beasthide and Midlund Flesh

Nice.  The base is great.  I like the tree and bush effect.

Thx, little additions like a bit of flock or lichen can enhance a mini.

I picked this up to paint for my girlfriend as Lon reminds me of her dog Erebus. He was fun to paint, although looking at the photo I can see a lot of flash I missed. As Erebus is female I probably should have done Lon's trousers in pink or the same teal shade as Erebus's collar and leash.

Went a bit crazy and felt the call of the mini. Painted this in a single afternoon. Starting to get a hang on wet blending.

My girlfriend's been fascinated by Antarctic exploration for a few months so when I saw that Reaper make an Antarctic Explorer figure, I had to get it and paint it for her. Here he is photographed in front of a porcelain iceberg she picked up at an art exhibit. She was really happy that I'd painted it for her but it took her about 30 seconds to say, "Isn't that the main guy from that Thing movie??"...

Finally got around to painting this awesome fig today.  I was torn between painting it like a lava monster or a blue/green chameleon.  I am running an adventure next weekend that takes place deep inside a mountain, so I decided on the lava lizard style so I have a little something extra to throw at the party if they are having too easy of a time.  I am definitely going to snag another one of these to paint with bright greens and blues at some point though.  I think I will also go over the feathers on the head along with the arm hair later this week to brighten them up a little.  I wanted those parts to be the biggest feature, so I want them to look blazing hot.  Critiques and advice are always welcome, thank you in advance!
