If you work someplace sane and can take lunch, put together a travel paint kit and work on a figure or two at lunch.  The nice thing about painting is that it all adds up.

It’s the 1st, and time for more goals...

I want to:

finish my six Sleestaks

paint a couple of vintage Tolkien units

get some project planning on paper

play some games

And at mid-month, I’ve been making good progress on the Tolkien stuff, but I’ve only touched the Sleestaks to move them out of the way. ::P:

I got up to Cold Wars over the weekend, so games have been played, and the warband lists for the Tolkien project are taking shape. Looks like a good month so far.

I’m about to paint some historical Dark

Ages guys. This wasn’t on my list for this month, but is a top five, so it isn’t totally out of left field.

March:

  • Take photos and post a show off of my Minivember minis (I'm way behind on this)
  • Finish putting all my paints in the paint swatch journal
  • Find more paint storage
  • Paint some things (not sure what yet)

Mid-month update: have not done any of these. I have made progress on the paint swatches. I did start up two new projects which I assume I'll start/finish painting this month as long as the paints I need get here before the end of the month. I started on my Mini Ma'al and then started planning out Isabeau Laroche who I'm going to paint up to look like Captain Marvel. I have both WIP's in my signature if you want to take a look at those.

Finished up the MSP core colors swatch journal. Currently working on setting up my journal for everything else I have. I got some minis linered, that counts as painting right?

I need to order paint but that won't happen until this coming weekend. I spent half of my paint money on steam games. Oops.

It’s been a little slow since the snow day, but it looks like I will at least add a little group of 1/72 NPCs to the portable fantasy collection by tomorrow:

I’m basing the pilgrim; others will be part of next month when I start to reorient toward working on 1/72 in anticipation of

taking them to this year’s conventions.

A pair of townsfolk today...

Try to work on the garage kit.

First though, finish cleaning the paint area.  I started last night but it needs a bit more work.

My goals this month were to work on my Minifigs Mythical Earth Warbands and paint some Sleestaks.  Unfortunately, the Sleestaks are being carried over to next month, but, as displayed in these threads, I did well on the MEs, with 38 figures finished, including a unit of elves, a unit of humans, and enough singles to complete partial units of goblins, orcs and wolves (for Dragon Rampant, with units of 12 foot or 6 beasts or mounted).   I also finished up 10 early Dark Ages historicals for my Dux Bellorum war bands, a single Star Frontiers adventurer for my vintage SF project, and 3 1/72 plastic figures for my Portable Fantasy Campaign, which I need to prioritize next month, for a total of 52 figures not considering scale.

http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/80047-snow-day-final/

I also said that I wanted to play some games (i.e. miniatures games), and I was in five, including a Dux Bellorum game that was the first outing for figures I’ve been working on now since 2013. ::P:

Some of my project planning is making it to paper, so that wasn’t too bad either.  It’s really been a pretty good month; hope April is at least half as good...

From Feb...

  • Decide on a colour scheme for my Catachans, clean up at least ten of them, and then get started on their painting
  • Clean up a squad of 10 8 Tau Fire Warriors and finalize their initial painting
  • Finish that lost model from the Layer Up! LTPK
  • Create an inventory spreadsheet of my various miniatures so I can track what I have and all that
  • Paint (or hobby) every day!
  • Assemble the remainder of my pewter Skaven from the 25th anniversary boxed army
  • Organize bits boxes

For 2018...

  • Pick up some CAV miniatures
  • Pick up some Heavy Gear miniatures
  • Order... stuff from Secret Weapon (I'm really wanting the washes, weather acrylics, pigments, and some more bases!)

For March!

  • Start converting bases for my Catachans from basic GW ones to stamped ones.  Goal I'm shooting for is 6x 60mm, and 10x 25mm
  • Convert a unit of my Tau to stamped bases (Goal: 8)
  • Assemble the remainder of my Rat Ogres, and Rebase them onto circular bases
  • Convert at least one of my Skaven units over to 25mm circular bases (Goal: 20)
  • Finalize how I'll be setting up Wyrmgear's wings, pin them in place, and then greenstuff the various things (rebuild certain parts, seal gaps, etc)
  • Start painting at least one of the minis in my Furiously Fluffy Howling Hounds army
  • Assemble a good portion of the miniatures I've picked up for my FFHH army
  • Get base coats for my rainbow dragon done, including planning of secondary and highlight colour locations (Ebonwrath)
  • Obviously get my March 2018 order in with Reaper >.>;;;;

That seems like about it, at least for now.  Might add more later!

Not obvious at all that hubby and I spent a good amount of time out of the house exploring the city, alongside work being busier due to drivers leaving or being on vacation, orrrr that I took a break for a bit after having spilt my water cup and almost destroying my mouse aaand headphone amplifier.

Some are partially done, like the Catachan, Skaven and Tau bases have been made, I just haven't worked on bringing minis over to them.

Others didn't happen, like an order being put in this month at Reaper, but sometimes that happens.  I might be having to hold off until May, just so a few other things are sorted out anyways.

Very meager progress on Mal this month, since I re-discovered Rift, the MMORPG.  So I have been spending a whole bunch of time playing that instead of painting.

Hey all! Time for the 2018 ReaperCon Forumite Bingo! So, those of you who were on the cards last year, or got a card last year know how the game works, so you can skip the next paragraph.

What is Forumite Bingo? It's a convention game I came up that is generally well received so I will do it again this year. The game is just like what a bingo game would be, but rather than calling out numbers to fill your card, you must go around and introduce yourself to members of the forum who are on your card. Say hi to them, and you can cross their box off. Once you've made "bingo", return to me for your Bingo ribbon. Blackout isn't required, but several people did it for the grins. And there's nothing to 'prove' you met those who you have said you have, just the honor system. You only punish yourself by cheating yourself out of meeting wonderful people.

Last year there were more volunteers than spaces, so not every one was on every card, and hopefully there will be enough volunteers again this year. It made for a good variety. So, this thread is not for signing up to receive a card to play. This is a signup for people who are willing to be on a card. The cards will be freely handed out at the convention. Just come find me, and potentially my wife who may have my materials. Be aware, volunteering to be on the card will mean that complete strangers will be coming up to meet you, and they may not be actually signed up and be on this forum. That happened more often than I thought it would last year. If that makes you uncomfortable, then reconsider volunteering.

      So, the ground rules:

I exclude the Reaper peeps since they are all pretty accessible. The game's purpose is to meet the less visible and vocal forum members. I will continue that. Sorry peeps, we love ya, but I feel that's best. The free square in the middle will be me, since everybody has to meet me to get the card it seems the fairest way. You must be going to ReaperCon to be on the card please! And if possible, the full Thursday to Saturday at least. It's unfair to those whose card you are on if you don't show, or are a Saturday only person. I will not exclude you if you are a Saturday only (or similar) limited attendee. However, people who have you on their cards will get to cross you off without meeting you if you aren't there when they need you for bingo. By replying with the information below, you are giving your permission to use the picture provided and your name provided, and to be inundated with people introducing themselves to you. Once I've printed the cards (much closer to the con than I want), they are set in stone. I can't remove people from the cards, and they're a bit pricey to just toss. Plans change, life happens, and if you become a no-show, you simply become a gimme square and are crossed off automatically by those who need your square. It already happened once and well, it will probably happen again. We'll just roll along in those cases. Signups will be open from now until August 15th. That gives me a mere two weeks to randomize the cards and have them printed on card stock. I'll get a mod to lock this thread on that date, and once the thread is locked, no more volunteers will be accepted. One does not need to be very active on these forums to be on the card, but it helps people to recognize you. But I will not turn away anybody that isn't very active if they really want to be on the card. If there's a question about any of these numbered questions, please quote the text since the numbering is automatic and I can't control it if there's an insertion. I will update these rules as questions and issues come up.
All ready to sign up? Good! Here's what you need to do. Reply to this thread with:
The name you want to use. I prefer your forum handle, so people might have some idea of who you are. They can always write your real name across the square as a way of crossing you off, but it's up to you what name to have on the card. What picture you wish to use for your square. Again, I prefer your forum picture, but if you are someone who changes it often, I might grab one that isn't current so having you explicitly give me one helps. What days you will be at ReaperCon. I'll put the days you won't be there on the square, and this will help us know if your are there that day or not. I'm only using Thursday thru Sunday, with Wednesday as a simple bonus day.
This is optional, but if you could also send a recent picture of your actual self via PM to me, I'd appreciate it. Something like a full on face shot, without costume. I plan to have a "cheat sheet" of sorts to help myself remember who is who. This way I can help direct people to those members they're still needing to collect. My brain isn't wired to put names to faces easily, and being tired from the Con won't help that. So, having something I can use to point the way will help. Again, this is optional.

I think that's it for now. See you all in a month!

The year is halfway over! What do you want to achieve this month?

      Here's my list:

      - Get blog going again.
      - Finish editing photos from last November >.<
      - Paint Bones Sphinx (by August 4).
      - Figure out how many other projects I have to do (that aren't already on the table) and give them time lines.
      - Figure out a giveaway for 1000 followers on IG.

Surprise. It's me. I'm the next Quisitor too.

      The obligatory roolz posting:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. If I fail to post a question, Inara (possibly) will post a question of her own choice.
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 6AM and 8AM EST
3.5 (Rule 3 may be the 2nd most broken rule.)
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me.
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why are always fun).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day challenges, often starting on Fridays.

I will be posting late the night before as I won't be awake super early in the morning.
