Yet More Mushrooms, Faerie Folk Types: DONE!

Recommended Posts

SWOON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How the heck do you do that.  Your use of color is spellbinding !

Gosh, am I impressed.  That Richness that is part of every little shroomie is INCREDIBLE !!!!

I keep on seeing each mushroom as a little cosmic part of you.  Sometimes they remind me of

clowns. Other times like dark Lord Overseers; controlling their minions.

You have DONE IT AGAIN !!!!

Simply magnificent work !

Thank you for YET ANOTHER WONDERFULLY enthusiastic reply. That made my day.  I am delighted you like the new Mushrooms.

There is a vague possibility that my maternal Grandfather was partly Hungarian with a dash of Gypsy blood. SO the colors could be

my Gypsy heritage emerging...or not.

I have the caps of the smaller mushrooms underway. PLUS I started a possible base for the Mushrooms. This creepy old tree stump

is a entryway to a Deep Place in the Faerie Kingdom. It's mounted on one of my new 6 1/2" wooden circles:

The eyes provide Faerie Security along with freaking out the local fauna:

The smaller Eye is over the yet-to-be-modeled door.

The next step is doing the DAS covering, texture, & shingles.

...Trees in this part of The Woods are confusing. Glad you like it thus far, Glitter.

AND later the same day, some of the DAS work is underway:

The bark is now sculpted all around:

Once it's dry enough to touch, the roof will get tiled. Then on to the detailing...that's when the fun begins.

Thanks, Glitter. It is much easier maintaining momentum & enthusiasm when I get pleasant responses to my posts.

As the clay dries (isn't that a soap opera?), I am on the verge of finishing twelve of the twenty small mushrooms in the circle.

I finished the roofing a little while ago:

There is just enough tedium involved in placing each tile one at a time on the roof & melding them together that end result is both pleasing & gives a feeling of being released from Hell:

...until whenever have FUN!

Thanks, Glitter...glad you like it. It should get more elaborate as I work on it...that does seem to be true with all my stuff.

I was out most of the morning, but I did manage to finish up the smaller mushrooms for the Gateway...pics later probably.

Later came earlier than I thought. Here are the normal(?) mushrooms:

For those of you who are into Group Photos, this is the current crop of Mushroom:

I found a wonderfully bizarre illustration of an armored Rhino by James Christensen. It is just my kind of Beasty:

AND I just happened to have a toy Rhino grazing in The Vault:

SO I started working on making my own version of the illustration:

At this point the green stuff work is done with the exception of some touch ups & embellishments:

The Rhino in his prime...so to speak:

I thought I would be more motivated to finish painting the Big Guy if I post here as well as in The Last Hurrah Thread...I have a lot of strange thoughts.
Today I started adding some colors to the base. Photos are likely...sometime or other.

A few days ago I started a new type of Mushroom based on some Pinterest polymer clay pieces like this one:

This one & his kin are quite a bit larger than the ones I make, but the detail is something to aspire to.
Here is a step by step of my Mushroom in progress up to yesterday. This is the plumber's epoxy dolly:

      The Kneadotite (green stuff):

I use the left over green stuff to make smaller versions of the Big Mushroom...you probably already notice that:

There will be more of this type in varying sizes AND their bases coming along soon...or eventually.

SO I have been hoping to get Enigma's Oz-zuh moon Face; AND I have been waiting almost patiently for a restock of Enigma at C.M.o.N..
Realizing that I just might not live long enough to see that happen I decided to make my own version of the Guy. This is what theirs looks
      like:

      This is my version:

      Oz in the Spooky Woods:

I still would like to do Enigma's, but I am pleased with my own attempt...it might be a lack of taste issue.

I have been waiting somewhat patiently for C.M.o.N. to restock Enigma's Oz-Zuh, Moon Face for several months. Today I thought I'd try my hand at making a mini similar to Oz.
This is Enigma's version...I would love to have mine paint up this nicely:

This morning I did up a dolly:

He looks like Howard the Duck at this stage:

Some green stuff work on his face, the ruff collar, & a hooded cape:

Now the Moon Faced Lad is one sleeve away from basic completion with only some embellishment that I may later regret to do:

The green stuff should be dry by seven or so; SO I may have him done today...or not.
Since I will be basing & painting him, I thought the W.I.P. section was more appropriate than the Sculpting.
