50328 Space Henchman Spring Exchange Mini

Recommended Posts

I did some more work on his skin tone, I'm trying to get some nice blends instead of my usual base, wash, highlight done. After I did his face, I thought it looked a bit wrong so I added some more pinkish brown paint into the mix. I'm in the middle of doing it on his arms as well, then starting HL again. The previous layer for some reason looked a bit chalky as well on the model.

I was trying to match a reference picture but not sure I'll manage, anyway, more WIP:

Got his clothes basecoated, and his bandolier. Did washes, just waiting for them to dry. I still need to do his eyes... just not sure how yet. They're pretty deepset and I'm not sure of a good nonhuman colour.

you could use a bright color such as yellow (think cat at night when someone shines a flashlight on them) or a very bright (florescent even) green for the eyes.  Human eyes are not usually the glowing kind.

Ooh yeah I like that idea, makes a lot of sense! I'll give it a go

Did a little more work on his clothes, trying to make pants look a little worn. I did some hatchmarks in a lighter blue, then glazed more blue on top to try to make it blend a bit more. Think I used too much glaze but it's a start so I'll keep working on it.

Thanks =D he's coming along, I think he's almost(?) done. Anyway I'm considering basing ideas atm. I'm not 100% sure what I want to do, because the only two things that come to mind are sand or a scifi ship type thing. Dunno, am playing with stuffs atm

A couple of tabletop Bones I painted over the winter and finished up this week.  Not sure of the sea captain's number yet, I don't think he has been released.

I finished her. It's finished but not perfect. I could have messed around with things even further and cleaned her up a bit more. I really probably could have left her sitting for weeks trying to figure out what else to do which is when I decided it's done.

Pretty happy with the eyes on this one. Also, the chaps were the first time I'd attempted to do distressed leather which I think look pretty good for a first attempt. Probably could have gotten clearer pictures but didn't want to fight with the phone any longer.

      ETA: C&C welcome.

So anyone have any recommendations for minis to represent the A-Team?

So Saturday  (yesterday) morning I finished painting Action Jackson. https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/action/latest/80023 Which is a mini I've been wanting to paint for awhile. It just so happens that Saturday afternoon is when my D&D Adventure League group meets, so before I left I packed up my finished mini to show off and get a few tips from the group's other painters. For the record it was dry before I packed it up.
For the last few weeks I've been running our third table; I'm currently doing Horde of the Dragon Queen. During the session the cleric at my table conjured a spiritual weapon. Like a lot of my players he's fairly new so he hasn't bought any minis yet for his PC's so he didn't have anything to represent his conjured weapon either. So when he conjured his spiritual weapon I placed Action Jackson on the field which my players loved.
Turns out his spiritual weapon was one of the party's heavy hitters. Which made the figure all the more fun to have on the field.
I know I can't be the only one who paints something and thinks they'll never get to use it and is proven wrong. Has anyone else been able to use Chronoscope miniatures in and odd or mismatched RPG setting? Though I love this miniature it certainly doesn't belong in a 5e game, but I'm glad I could use him to comedic effect.
