I had some left over paint in my wet pallet from my last project, so I decided to not waste it.

I like the axe-guy’s blending more than sword n board dude.  Lessons learned!  Go easy on the highlights.  Had I been braver I would have attempted tattoos, but alas I am still working up the courage.

As always C&C welcome, and hopefully you enjoy them.

Very nice!  They remind me of the guys from the original Conan the Barbarian movie.

Very cool!

A trick for tattoos.

Paint them on the skin, then glaze over them with your skinmidtone till they have faded enoug to look like they're under the skin instead of on top of it.

Yeah.  They have a very Boris Vallejo-ish feel to them.

Nice work.

Reaper tanned flesh actually.

Early 2018 I bit the bullet and changed the majority of my paints from citadel to reaper.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments!

03880: Phineas Greybone, Necromancer sculpted by Tre Manor

Overall I'm really happy with how the light effects worked out.  This was a really difficult miniature to photograph.  The main challenges painting him were the glowing skull and the very irregular base.  I tired to make the skull stand out by making very deep purple shadows around it.  I used red, orange and white glazes and appear to glow, but without making it look too orange.  Making the base look dark enough was very difficult because it has a very irregular surface and every jagged edge catches the real light and makes it look brighter than I want it to in comparison to the shadow areas on the main figure.  In future for a project of this type, I would use a smoother style of base so I have more control over the shadows and lighting like on the main figure.

My DM wanted an Ettin for next week's game, and since I have lots and lots of minis... Well, I guess it falls to me!

First time using green liner. Also mixed in some brown liner with Ruddy Flesh for the skin he's wearing and the clubs. The beard & hair is Dragon Red.

Ok, here is my first NMM paint job. I'm not sure if I dislike the technique, or just picked a bad mini to try it on first. I found it a bit fiddly and frustrating with all of the dully cast spikey bits. I did a pretty quick TT quality job on everything not NMM, so I know there are a lot of places to improve there.

Also, I feel like the photos make it look better than it really is. I'm pretty happy with how the front of the armor turned out, but the shield and shoulder pauldrons were frustrating.

Would truly appreciate any feedback on improving the quality of my NMM!
I'll be doing Mangu next and tracking in the same WIP thread.

I was using this to try a different skin color which I like and I believe I was going to do a bit more detailed TMM but got side tracked. After several months of no work on him, I decided to get him "done" to tabletop level. Here are some shaky iPad photos. C&C welcome.

Last severed head for the day, I promise.
77056: Orc Sniper (Archer) by Tre Manor with the head of the tiger from 03253: Jungle Girl with Sabre Tooth Tiger by Werner Klocke.
*tiger heads were ordered separately from the Boneyard, not chopped off a mini.
Used for a litorian PC.  Litorian's are a race in Monte Cook's Diamond Throne campaign setting.
