"Overrunners" SF kickstarter

Recommended Posts

This is by Bob Naismith, who has a long pedigree in figure design.

I really like all of it, especially the hoverbikes. But the prices are steep. I might buy a couple of display pieces, wish I could afford an army.

I have my eye on this one. Pricey but I might dig deep for it, or not, hard to tell right now. The renders are amazing though.

This is one I've been waiting a while for.

Just hoping I can afford to get all that I want.

Or some of what I want.

At least a bike...

I have liked Bob Naismith's work for a long time - but it has always been for the style and character of his models, not for his technical skills. I love his undead - they have amazingly expressive... skulls...

This project... was an amazing leap in the detail and precision of his craft.

For some reason it makes me want to run Twilight: 2000. (Remember when the year 2000 was The Future?)

The Auld Grump - my favorite is the dune buggy. ::):

These are very nice. I have been wanting figures just like these for a game called 'The Morrow Project' for a really long time. Between these figures and the mutants from Hate, I should have plenty of post apocalypse minis. And these look so very nice.

I will have to wait and see what becomes available as a stretch goal and what will be available as an additional purchase.

Morrow Project - now there's a name from the past!

So many ways to get dead in that game.

Huh! There's a new edition!

The Auld Grump - PA gamer since Gamma World... then Aftermath.

Another upcoming stretch goal render revealed, Reptos.

IMG_1601.thumb.PNG.54a762669d60a76b08db0326f6bc1cbd.PNG

The only issue I have is that they look a little too much like a human in a mask. Sure the head is great but the rest of them doesn't look alien at all.

I've suggested he make some changes to the legs to make them look less human, but I don't know that'll happen.

Apparently dog heads will be another future option to make more aliens out of these sculpts.

Maybe we'll get cat heads in the future do that I can finally get my Kzinti minis.

With only 77 backers the campaign has been in a bit of a midkickstarter lull. The funding level has been reached, but only barely.

Have to admit it surprises me that a sculptor with decades worth of experience who has done work for so many different miniatures companies over the years only has 77 backers at this point.

I think he is hitting the wall because of the pricing. These are definitely on the pricey side approaching $10 a mini for the troopers.

I think that's also the thing... Price is high enough many tend to look and think a lot longer.

Dog heads as an option eh?  Wonder if they'd be digitigrade legs to go with that....

The Reptos are definitely interesting, but I also agree that they should look more... Non human.

When I first saw the Reptos renders I wasn't sure if they were supposed to be reptile aliens,  or instead humans wearing a reptile helmet as done in Stargate.

I Ike them a lot better.

They look like fast movers.

Bob is asking for feedback so they may not be final.

      About this project
In the lands of the North, where the Black Rocks stand guard against the cold sea, in the dark night that is very long the Men of the Northlands sit by their great log fires and they tell a tale... and this tale is one of bringing the works of Peter Firmin and Oliver Postgate to life in the form of metal miniatures suitable for both collecting and gaming.
Peter Firmin and Daniel Postgate, Oliver's son, have given their licensed blessing to this project. Every miniature produced will be lovingly packaged in the heart of the lead belt, otherwise known as Nottingham, and then shipped to all backers. There are many more miniatures in the offing provided funding is reached which will encourage me to keep going....and to ensure my bank manager doesn't rue the day I walked through his door a few months back with a tiny acorn of an idea.....
The 16 initial sculpts, by the awfully talented Martin Buck, have already been mastered by the also talented hands of another dedicated Noggin fan, Peter Brown of The Mouldmaker. Each miniature is on a 20mm round base (although these have shrunk slightly in the moulding process) and average about 30mm in height.
Peter Firmin has been actively involved in the consultation, refinement and approval of the final figures after all, they are his creation! Daniel Postgate, Oliver's son, is of course involved in the project for Smallfilms.
They will be cast in a white metal alloy and boxed in a rather nice presentation set unless you choose the single blister option.
Packaging work in progress  Although all of the miniatures look wonderful in the bare metal as supplied, they really come alive with the addition of a little paint and colour - look at what can be achieved in the pics below - fabulous paintwork from the gifted hands of brush maestro Andrew Taylor

A lot more sculpts are planned, some are works in progress that will be posted as updates throughout the course of the Kickstarter. This Kickstarter is to allow the production of the first 16 sculpts as a set and to finance the production of the rest.

      Hello guys!
I am here to show you the new KS from Ludus Magnus Studio coming this spring!

Black Rose Wars is a board game that will guide you into the world of Nova Aetas. The Black Rose lodge meets to determine who will be the new Magister, the keeper of forgotten magic. The most powerful mages affiliated with the lodge will confront each other in a series of epic and captivating battles, exploiting the arcane powers in their possession. The event, which determines the destiny of the lodge every ten years, will be hosted in the rooms of the Black Rose manor.

In Black Rose Wars, each player uses magic to collect Power Points by killing the other mages, destroying the rooms of the lodge, making them unstable or completing personal missions. At the start of the game, each mage begins with spell cards selected from a school of choice. Each of the Black Rose Wars schools contains different and unique spells, which leads to different victory strategies. Each school, like Divination and Trasmutation, have different type of spells which gives the mage different strategies to become the most powerful mage.

Hello everyone we are venturing into the Kickstarter realm again with a fully digital to cast project. Warning this one is on the artistic nude side, so be careful if at work or sensitive area...

"In the desert realm of Tharaa, summer’s heat lies as heavily upon the lavish court of the Sultana as it does upon the simple shops and homes of her subjects. Yet they are the ones who rejoice with the cool evening zephyrs that race refreshingly through their markets stalls, tents, and villas; breezes that never seem to reach the perfumed halls of the Sultana’s court. On those stifling, windless, near endless days; comfort, pleasure, and even mere distraction elude the powerful ruler. Her great wealth, her many servants, and her countless possessions seem more burden than blessing. On those days when clothing itself seems a pointless effort, the beauty and power of the human form acts as reminder that modesty can be a needless vanity..."

Anyone have any info about the company? How able do you think they can pull off a KS? They've at least been in business for a long time?

      About this project
As far as one can remember, Elves always dominated the world. They are condescending and quite full of themselves. But their time is drawing to an end as decline looms over their kind. From the Bohorg tribe to the Steamfield Barony, along with the Godleif clan and the Army of the Tomb, every clan is secretly arming itself to conquer the elven cities and the precious crystals they hold to forge the powerful legendary equipment and take the Emerald Empire back!

Designed by Frédéric Guérard (Titanium Wars, Ilôs, …), illustrated by Djib (Titan race, Sabordage,…), and published by La boite de jeu (10’ to kill, Outlive,…) Clash of Rage is a conquest and skirmish game with miniatures in which different clans will fight for victory. Every army is unique, with its own units and characteristics. Players will equip each unit as they see fit, buying weapons and armors so that every game will be different! Overcoming the Elves will be the first necessary step to victory, but the showdown with the other clans is bound to happen!
After 2 Years of development and hundreds of playtests, this is what Clash of Rage brings to the table:
High replay value and endless customization of your armies with equipment and heroes. Short term in-game strategy combined with long range campaign planning giving you bonuses from one scenario to the other (a skirmish mode and a scenario mode).  An innovative combat system that rewards your armies’ complementarity over the number of units.  A turn order mechanism depending on the tactical cards you’ll play (that also define the reinforcements and income you’ll get).  An easy-to-learn game system, yet offering countless strategic possibilities mainly related to your tactical cards, equipment and actions choices. We showcased the game in lots of conventions so be sure that Clash of Rage is ready to roll out! We truly believe in this game and think you’ll have a ton of fun with it. The Elves are in for a challenge!
