This video has had over 2.5 million views and it just went up earlier today.

Maybe we need a new term for beyond viral?

Hmmm... I'm going to nominate epidemic or alternatively patient zero

I'd go with epidemic except the meter is running up faster than a normal epidemiological growth curve.

It's now over 4,400,000.

At this rate it will hit ten million some time tomorrow afternoon.

Y'know, I have been living under the impression that it was actually a /crime/ to steal mail? Y'know, the kind of thing they lock you up for? Or, you know, hit you with whopping fines for.

.. I don't even know how to deal with people who can't be orfed to enforce that. :/

The Postal Inspectors are short-handed and their primary focus is on domestic terrorism. Actual threats and such stuff sent through the mail. Also, one of their divisions deal withnothing but child porn, so you see why unless it is in the thousands of dollars, they don't bother.

Gotta love UPS's way of saying we were there. I know they deliver around here anytime from 5 to 7 at night. Ok no prob. I get home from D&D game night late due to the shop owner, his employee & myself had a late dinner discussing future ideas for the gaming at the store. Anyways, got up to the front door & there on the step was a package from UPS.....sigh.

They don't ring the bell to let you know, even thou they can tell someone is home. I like UPS but I wonder, some days.

What makes this worst is the seller used smartpost* for this item....ugh. It's a t-shirt I got for my daughter for Christmas. It went USPS for most of the journey then it flipped over to UPS for the last part of the journey. Again, sigh.

* Well at least I know what was in the mystery UPS tracking email I got yesterday.

Just shows how many people are sick of having their stuff stolen.

My work computer is still borked. Can't run anything except explorer, but website load super slow, if they load at all. And the one time I was able to open excel, the darn thing corrupted my spreadsheet

I hate computers.

I was thinking about starting a topic, but let me try it on for size here.  I've been thinking about what it would be like to be just starting out in the hobby and wondering how people get into "this" (for whatever value of "this" they are in for), and how they are deciding what to pursue.  I'm way too far from my origins to have coherent memories of what I was thinking...

Guy needs to set up a Kickstarter to sell kits to make these.

Next step would to be the addition of paintballs filled with the same UV Dye used in banknote packs to catch bankrobbers.

A quick washup won't remove the dye and imagine the thief explaining how he acquired his new sparkly style.

...and the step after that is to replace the fart spray with skunk spray and to mix some paintballs filled with pepper spray in.

Yes, I am evil, why do you ask?

I know why I got into painting minis. I started playing dnd with my hubby, we were using plastic prepaint minis, and I thought I could paint them to look more like the characters. And then I thought "oh, I could do a much better paint job than this"

Well worth a thread.

Equally interesting, perhaps: Most people I game with started young through parents/uncles/older siblings, fell out of the hobby during their teens, but then something drew some of them back in their 30's/40's. What drives that?

I remember that making those up was a game back in elementary school. Longest word wins. And then there is the Satanarchaeoluegenialkohoellische Wunsch-Punsch... :)

The longest word ever recorded in German language is Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft

That would make a nice nickname

Thinking about that glitter bomb, I don’t think a Kickstarter would work. Not everybody can afford four LG phones with data plans. So, being the good engineer I am, I’m thinking red Solo cup and a mousetrap that’s triggered with the opening of the inner flap.

At my last home, my office was in the basement, and I wouldn't even know if they came or not.  So I installed a wireless doorbell down in my office, mounted the button for it right over the place on the porch where they would leave packages and put a sign on it that said "Please ring bell when dropping off packages."     That way, the packages wouldn't sit there all day at risk.

The Postman would ring the bell.
The FedEx driver would ring the bell.

The UPS Driver would NOT ring the bell.  Multiple drivers, and even after a couple calls asking them to.  I even asked a couple of people sending me packages to write "Please ring bell on delivery" on their box.  Still wouldn't.

Though no one ever explicitly admitted it, I think UPS has a policy that tells drivers not to ring any bells unless they need a signature.

At my home now, my office sits on the corner of the house with windows facing both streets - I can generally see the trucks go by, now.
