CMON Expo Instructors Speed Painting

Recommended Posts

The CMON Expo was a great event, but the best part was the speed painting event. All of the instructors decided to get together and do the speed painting on Sunday just for fun (we didn't enter ours into the competition).

It's Robb Stark from Song of Ice and Fire, painted in 90 minutes using battered craft brushes.

Left to right (IIRC), they were painted by me, Clay Williams, Elizabeth Beckley-Bradford, Rhonda Bender, and Jen Haley.

I love seeing the different interpretations of the folds on the back of the cloak.  This is wonderful!

I'm so envious that those only took 90 minutes.  It' take me 90 days to reach that level of work.

Way too good for a speed paint! Lol. Thanks for sharing I like seeing the different personality you each achieved with the paints.

Now I am off to give away my painting supplies......:poke:

I see that my speed painting and your speed painting are two totally different and separated by an exponential degree or three.

I find it interesting that each painter has chosen to focus on different areas of the model to add some "pop" to it.   We need more of this please...

I completely agree.  Speedpainting or not, seeing these lined up next to one another to see how different folks approach a mini is really, really helpful.  I never knew I needed this.

Would it be possible to make this a more regular thing?  I've saved these photos and will be referring to them a lot, I think...

Yep, I didn't know how much a variety of very talented interpretations of the same subject could be so helpful until I looked at those.  They are all amazing for speed paints and they are all different and individual.  Very cool seeing them grouped together.

I second the request for more multi-painter showcases. I suppose thats what the Inspiration Gallery is for, but seeing them all in the same shot is very helpful
