Converted Gregor the Wizard, who is a druid type character, well wrapped up with a bird as a familiar. I thought the model would look good as a female character and the way the coat bunches up means that a conversion looks OK, in my view. I just cut off the head with a razor saw and swapped it with a reaper bones head for Drys the Dryad. I just stuck it straight onto a blob of green stuff. I didn't need to do much texturing because the beard on the original male model just looks like a scarf following the sawing.
The mittened hand holding the bird just got accidentally bent back while I was sawing the head off (is this forum externally monitored?). It wasn't an intentional part of converting.
Then a pretty simple paint job, have done the washes in these pics and need to do some basic highlighting and a winter effect on the base.
Quick paint job on this one so I could use it in our current rpg as a time and dimension travelling psionic character. It is by DGS Games, from their Eclipse Sisterhood KS. It's technically a fantasy mini, but could be used in any genre that you'd find swords. Might even be able to paint it as some kind of energy blade.
Sorry for the fuzzy image. Think I may have dropped my camera one too many times. :(
So, as I mentioned, I was given a pristine old Grenadier set of Champions supervillains for Christmas.
On the cover is a little splash logo: “FREE Starter Scenario Game Aid and Figure Accessories”
The “Starter Scenario Game Aid” is just a folded piece of paper with a hex map on one side and some suggestions on the other.
But the “Figure Accessories” are two actual, substantial molded pieces: a pair of rockets and what I think is a hover-scooter.
You can see them in the middle row on the far right, between two figures, here:
These two pieces are not pictured on the box art, nor are they listed in the set description.
They definitely go with the set. The box was sealed when I received it.
They are not mentioned nor shown on the Lost Minis Wiki page of the set:
Question: Should I document and upload pictures of these accessories to the wiki?
I started a D&D campaign for my son and some of his friends, and using it as an excuse to acquire and paint some new minis. Here is my son's Tiefling sorcerer (sorceress?)The plan: We don't really like the "combat bikini" on this one, so I am going to attempt to add, well something to it. It won't be great, probably wont even look good, but hey I'm only trying to get better, so please comment, critique, advise, instruct, and what not.
Going with a light purple skin because its for a Tiefling character, and I think purple is an interesting color to paint. Turquoise colored garments as a complimentary color, and some yellow gold metal for some contrast.
And some color after the nip tuck. I went with blue for a base cause I'm guessing it will work better with the purple skin.
We decided to chop the staff and try for a glass orb for the arcane focus. Any recommendations are appreciated.
Finally to end the night with some Green stuff. I started with a "sheet" of it for the Front and Back panels. I'm going to try to add some detail tomorrow after this dries.
Overall I don't think the cloth is laying quite right, or the size is off. Either way I hope I can fix it in the next session.
Enjoy another rendition of 01608: Reaper 25th Anniversary - Diva the Blessed. Part of the Autumn palette series with NMM, Texture, and Effects. I know it's a great sculpt when I want to paint it again.
