Attempts at polar painting

I think you’re your own worst critic!  These look awesome.

The Pathfinder dragon looks especially formidable.  Very well done!

White isn’t an easy colour, that’s why you don’t see many!

Second the above!

I think you did a very good job on both of them.

Well thanks y’all. A lot of folks on another forum really hated the bone color I did on the dragon. I’m not thrilled with it either but thought it would be a cool break from an all white/blue color scheme...execution wasn’t that sharp, but it does look good on the table at normal light.

I think that this is really the key...  the color scheme you picked was super challenging and not as forgiving of tabletop techniques.  It doesn't mean that your concept was bad, just that for it to look good you would have to spend more time on the shading & highlighting.  Which can be a bridge too far when you need the pieces done for a game.  (I myself am frequently guilty of coming up with cool ideas and then getting tired before I do all the work and just calling it 'done'.)

I bet you learned a lot about painting white and you'll enjoy having them ready for you game.  Which is plenty good in my books!  Paint on!  ^_^
