Tuesday, August 7: What is the silliest name for a pet that you can think of?

These came to me while scooping the cat box:

Stinkaronius

Stinkenstein

Skinkasaurus Rex

Best of all (imo),

Calling a huge dog Fifi or Frou Frou or something like that.

Or vice versa calling a chihuahua or a similar smal dog Wodan, Thor or something like that.

When I lived in Rotterdam I knew a guy who called his dog Gozer, this means Dude.

So when he walked the streets you would imagine him calling GOZER! ( DUDE!)  every time the dog ran too far.

Guys would turn their heads to see if he meant them.

Thanks to the multitude of vet shows my housemate watches, I've come across some memorable ones, my personal favourites were a dog called 'The Notorious D.O.G' and a cat named 'Lady Penelope Pussywillow'.

There was also the vet who was determined to let his children name a puppy he'd brought home regardless of what they came up with.

That's how he ended up with a Labradoodle named 'Skull-kicker' (or 'Skully' for short).

Neighbor Tom has a flair for animal names. His little white dog is Sassy. With his last name, Chick, that makes her Sassy Chick.

Then there was his rooster: Luther the Rooster. AND his stray tom cat, who has adopted Cap'n John & me: Damnit. Damnit is an

outdoor cat, King of the Pecan Grove. As such he can be greeted with "Damnit where have you been".

Monday, August 6: What is a favorite quote from a show you watch?

There are many. Like a lot of people, quotes feature prominently in conversation with friends.

Context usually not quoted hidden by spoiler tags

L: You have no weapons?

S: No. You have no weapon?

L: No.

S: Guess what... I lied. [reveals hand weapon]

L: Guess what. So did I. [reveals hand weapon]

S: But I lied twice. [reveals gun]

L: I didn't think of that.

This also brings a whole new layer of meaning to the original Ghostbusters movie.

That movie must end very differently in Dutch.

"The Gozarian abides..."

If it's a dog, I'll call it "Cat" or "Kitty".

If it's a cat, I'll call it "Dog" or "Doggy".

Anything to make guests wonder who's actually insane.

I'll blame the parakeet (actually a goldfish, "The Parakeet" is its name)

So... when the Ghostbusters are fighting the BBEG just before it turns into Stay Puft, they're fighting...

Dude The Duderian, Dude The Destructor,  Volguus Zildrohar, Dude The Traveler, Lord Of The Sebouillia

Don't really watch any shows, so instead I'll quote a movie...

"Inconceivable!"

.... And two from what's rapidly becoming my favourite game..

"What are you, the comedian's boyfriend?"

"I LOVE the bad guys!  They always take so long to shoot!"

A big mean nasty guard dog... Named Cuddles.  A chihuahua... Named "Trogdor" or other equally silly HomeStarRunner name...

      The obligatory rulze posting:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and take my place...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 6AM and 8AM EST
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me.
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why are always fun).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day challenges, often starting on Fridays.

I'm going to go walk the dogs, and then post the first question of the month...
