Taste in music is personal.

Things I like will sound horrible to some others and vice versa.

So it is all a matter of taste.

I'm backing GW here.  So much personal taste involved.  Even after 21 years, I still can't get my wife to like my music.

This said, I will also stop liking bands that use their popularity to champion their favorite political movements.

There's a couple christmas songs I'm not going to think about or they'll be stuck in my head all day.

Friday, August 10: What is the worst song in the world?

I have a tie. It's a dead heat between You Are My Sunshine AND Debby Boone's You Light Up My Life.

The former is one of those God-awful-songs that sometimes will play endlessly through my mind.

The later was inflicted on me over & over for months on my treks to & from work way back when.

Both are dreadful enough that one listening was one too much.

There are others but right now, the gold digger Christmas song

"Santa Baby"

Always dread the week of T-day when the music as work starts to flip over to the "dread music" & SB is on multiple times by multiple singers.

Ughhhh make it stop!!!!!!

I think I used a whole roll of film on that ride when we visited Disneyland....  I actually liked the ride, but I could definitely see how it would be problematic for many...

Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter.

I also like to add some Grape Nuts to Raisin Bran.

Got to agree with GW. Not sure I have a Most Hated song.

My youngest absolutely despises Diggy Diggy Hole to the point of screaming/violence when it is played. He also intensely dislikes Dwarves and the "D" word.

This is the song that never ends

Yes it goes on and on my friends

Some people started singing it

Not knowing what it was

And they'll continue singing it

Forever just because

Repeat. Repeat forever...

ALMOST every song from Spongebob (there is one tolerable song in there that I remember)

also, people will hate me for this one, so i'm making it small. The Circle of Life from Lion King. There. I said it. It's terrible.

Having said that I strongly dislike Rapmusic.

I have no one worst song, just that whole genre.

But again, others like it and I respect that.

I had a very long-winded and verbose reply worked out in my mind.

GW said the same thing I was going to, and kept it short and sweet as a bonus.

So I agree with what he said.

It's fascinating how some artists get famous on their worst songs... (The rest of the album is actually pretty decent.)

I don't think I have any specific song in mind. But if it's being sung loudly (and probably off key), in the middle of the night, by drunk people, while I'm trying to sleep, then it makes the list.:grr:

      The obligatory rulze posting:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and take my place...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 6AM and 8AM EST
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me.
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why are always fun).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day challenges, often starting on Fridays.
