I'm more worried about this even funding at this point. I guess I'm not used to these small-mid range projects where funding isn't guaranteed. Anyone have a good idea of what to expect funding curve wise?

I think they have to do something. The initial big surge has predictably slowed down. While I am hopeful we fund, I don't know how much further than that it would go at this pace. It will save me money.... :) but I want the Rabble, the 2nd human faction and the orcs... and that is without seeing the dwarves, and elves which I bet will be great too.

It seems like KS's have to fund day 1 to really be successful now.

For myself, I have low interest in the beginning material. Yay... generic humans versus generic undead. I pledged for the early bird, but I'm only interested in the undead peasants, which means I may not stay in this project long if nothing interesting opens up.

Yeah, I also think that Humans vs Undead is a bit old, even the undead peasants are of no interest to me (Zombicide Black Plague had enough). I'm interested in both cavalries ... and then the "normal" peasants ... the orcs ... the elves especially (though no pictures yet).

I do like the Armored zombies. That is not something I already have. I think they would make good RPG encounters. But... Don't need many for that.

I really do like the Northmen. Not really for the GoT reference but for Italian Mercenaries... or Small kingdom soldiers. I have a plan for an Age of Sigmar army and can use these in other games as well. I like the Barbute helmets and padded armor.  I really like the look of them. And while they are "generic" humans I find them less generic than other plastic fantasy humans and more specific "Italian soldiers".

The 2nd human faction are meant to be another kingdom/ faction but I would use them as elite units for my Northmen. Heavy Infantry (foot knights) and heavy cavalry (knights). I like them less than the Northmen themselves but still like them.

The rabble are pretty cool. I can use them as civilians and angry mobs in RPG and as peasant levy or conscripts in my army. These are very unique and not offered any where else. I hope they fund.

The Orcs... I really like. I can use them as half orcs in RPGs. I like them but they seem so far away.

Fireforge has kind of implied (based on comments in the kickstarter) that they may offer some of their existing range as addons in the Pledge manager. They have also said they may consider individual sprues as stretch goals. Hopefully if that comes it will help speed funding along.

If offered, I may get some more of their mongols (which are excellent) and use them in my mongol themed ogre army.

Hm ... I'm getting a bit worried (yes, that early, I'm a pessimist). It did not start as strong as I might have expected ... it is a bit more than 50% funded and now things have slowed down. Week end does not help ... the fact that a number of people are interested in boxes that are far-away stretch-goals is also a problem. They either add the money (and pull it again if those stretch goals become unlikely to be achieved) or they don't add the money (making it even harder to get to those stretch-goals).

I think Fireforge should come up with some strategies (offering some of their existing lines as add-ons ... or - as suggested in the KS - additional sprues for backers as easy to achieve stretch goals.

I'm also not sure what to think of the stretch goals "Let's have the resin heroes in plastic" ... to me, resin is the "more valuable" option (yes, it's not as durable, but can achieve higher detail etc). To me, that stretch goal is not worth anything, I'd rather have them in resin (though if it's the kind of resin Raging Heroes use, I'll take plastic).

and an important answer concerning size (at least important to me): Their historical minis are the same size as Frostgrave and their fantasy minis in the Kickstarter seem to be the same size again, making them a bit too small for me, unfortunately.

On the other hand, the picture seems to imply that they work well with GW Empire troops ... does anybody have some of their historical minis and can post how they compare to Reaper Bones (for example) concerning size?

The Empire guy in the pic below is from the same set as the empire guy in the pic above. He is on a 25mm base, but since the reaper onse have integral bases and are on a 30mm I sat him on a 30 too. I think the scale will be fine. He is a bit shorter than the alchemist mini but the same height as the Anhurian. And he has an open stance so does not look out of place next to the standing tall stance of the alchemist.

Edit: The Reaper alchemist (in black above) is the same height as my Song of Fire Lannister Halberdiers.

Due to popular demand (as you could say):

" We believe in our  kickstarter project. We decided to unlock Folk Rabble plastic set with project funding. We will pay for that production instead to raise more funds by the campaign. However this set will be available later during 2019 and will be not shipped togheter with northmen and living dead boxes."

I hope they don't overpromise.

The big thing really with the scale is hands and head sizes, if you are worried about matching. I'm not worried, personally, but matching GW hands and head sizes is difficult, they are way too big normally.

This one just went up. Seems like a smaller studio with some cool sculpts. The cost per figure seems reasonable, although shipping is a bit of a bummer.

      About
It is high time we put the next two Schlock Mercenary books into print, and into your hands. We love these books, and we're excited for you to have them.
      THE BOOKS
Broken Wind: Schlock Mercenary Volume 14
"Think of it as a great, big can full of sky... You could drop Mars into that can, and then tuck Luna and Europa in on top."
Cover art by Howard Tayler and Travis Walton. Design by Sandra Tayler, Howard Tayler, and K.B. Spangler.      The  Toughs have taken a small contract in a very, very big place. It's just  the sort of mission Captain Tagon excels at, but his gunboat isn't  answering to him, and his command chain includes the outed spy who stole  the gunboat, the retired general who took it for a joyride, and the  disgraced major from whom it was stolen in the first place.
With  air on both sides of the airlock it's tempting to start throwing people  through it. They'll fall for days, provided nothing with wings decides  they look tasty...
This comprehensive print collection will be 176 pages  long, perfect-bound in full color, with 9 pages of all-new story and over 30 pieces of margin art.
Delegates and Delegation: Schlock Mercenary Volume 15
"I have standing orders to start exactly zero wars."
Cover art by Howard Tayler and Travis Walton. Design by Sandra Tayler, Howard Tayler, and K.B. Spangler.
Captain  Alexia Murtaugh has a new ship, and a new contract to provide embassy  security. Sergeant Schlock has a new title, and a shiny new "get out of  jail free" card. Lieutenant Haley Sorlie has new friends, new implants  for spying on them, and a newfound distaste for the politics of  diplomacy.
As Earth orbits its way into a new  century her people have new allies, new enemies, and that old, familiar  panic one gets upon discovering that there really is something new under  the sun.
This print collection will be 160 pages  long, perfect-bound in full color, with 9 pages all new story, and over 30 pieces of margin art.
      WHY WE USE KICKSTARTER
For years we handled our print runs by taking pre-orders in our online store. Last year we changed that, using Kickstarter for the pre-orders of Random Access Memorabilia: Schlock Mercenary Book 13. We were very pleased with the way it worked out.
We like Kickstarter's system for communication between us and you, our backers.  Kickstarter delivers a great pre-order experience for backers, and with Backerkit we get very robust fulfillment tools, making the job of shipping thousands of books much easier on us than it's been in the past.  Kickstarting this print run lets us offer you more than we've been able to offer in the past. When we say "offer more," we don't mean "more pages." The books are finished, and we're all better served if we don't mess around with  that part. We'll be offering additional merchandise, both physical and digital, that we wouldn't otherwise be able to produce. You'll find those in the Stretch Goals.
      STRETCH GOALS
      $60,000 Desktop Backgrounds
All backers at 1 book pdf level and above will get desktop backgrounds featuring the cover art for Broken Wind and Delegates & Delegation.
(Howard has finished a few of them already, and is trying them out.)
Howard's over-the-drawing-table monitor, now with 100% more BROKEN WIND $70,000  Fleet coins
Three new ship coins, one each for Broken Wind, Neosynchronicity, and Cindercone. The coins will be available to purchase as add-ons for $10 each. We've cleared this goal, so we'll have some art to show you next week.
      $80,000 Maxim 70 Key chain
Maxim 70 reads: "Failure isn't an option. It's mandatory. The option is whether or not to let failure be the last thing you do" Our M70 coin has been one of our most popular challenge coins. This time we want to reprint it as a key chain, so that you can more easily keep it close. The key chain will be available as an add-on for $10.
      $90,000 The Reprints
Teraport Wars is almost out of stock, this is a problem for making up book sets, we'd like to do a second printing.
Howard Tayler short story PDF. Howard has written some prose short stories that were sold to various anthologies. The rights have now reverted to us and we'd like to make these stories available to backers. There will be at least two stories, one previously printed in Shared Nightmares, the other in Shadows Beneath. This pdf will be given to all backers at 1 book PDF level and above. Expected delivery January 2019.

Because it’s never too early for Christmas themed kickstarters...

Although I must admit I prefer the term “nerd” over “geek”.

This is an unusual looking concept:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tabulagames/volfyirion

It's a modestly priced deck building card game (€9) that has an optional dragon which costs €18 by itself. Combined it is €25 (with a few €22 early birds left).

It's a really interesting looking dragon.

Skirmish game and miniatures for a post apocalyptic world.

Mini selection is a little confusing and I’m unsure if individual minis can be ordered separately... but I’m pretty sure I saw Dastardly and Muttley in there along with Penelope Pitstop, so this has my attention.

Plus giant mutant ants and scorpions. Damn dirty apes on horseback. Motorcycle gangs and a cast of dozens.
