I'm not sure how old this figure is or who made it, but it pre dates my collection by several years.  It is a very soft lead alloy.  It came in pieces, two halves of the body, a head, and wings.  Couldn't pin the wings because the body is hollow.  Paper clip for scale.

The first figures I ever painted were made in the early 80's , Grenadier 5003, Woodland Adventurers.  https://www.pinterest.com/pin/366973069612333776/

Rare or valuable?  I have no idea.  I have a few Reaper pieces that never went into retail production,  I suppose some might think they were more than a curiosity.

What is the oldest, rarest, and/or most valuable mini you own?

Have you painted it?
Find said mini (painted or not), take a picture, and post it here for us to admire.

I had some old Ral Partha and Grenadiers that I got from my borther-in-law, I think I had the forum identify them but I can't remember much, too tired to bring them out to take a picture.

I don't know about the oldest, I have a couple old lead minis from the 80s.

The one I spent the most money on was Kingdom Death's 80 Year Savior. She cost me $65

My rarest one is most likely Harapan, one of reapers tsunami relief minis. He's extremely difficult to find, but a fellow forumite gave him to me.

I haven't painted them, though the 80 year savior is on my list for the holiday campaign, and when I finish those, I've finally come up with a scheme for Harapan. Let's just say I'm gonna need a lot of dead bodies

The oldest would be the Grenadier Females box set that I picked up off of Ebay back when I first started painting.  IIRC it was produced in 1980.  To my knowledge I don't have anything produced in the 70s.  The one's I've painted and posted are:

I just love the snooty look you've given the girl slinger.

A follow-up on "oldest" figures...If you go by when they were sculpted, several of us in the HAWKs share parts of a project involving Buck Rogers figures from early 1930s home casting molds.  Chris Palmer has two of them, making a total of six different figures, and we managed to buy examples of the rest of the poses, plus some Flash Gordon figures.  We first staged a game with these in 1996, so the idea that we cast them "recently" is starting to be a little out of date.

We did them in a pretty deliberately cartoony style.  The alien on the left is a "Depth man" (of Jupiter, as we eventually found) and the figure on the right is Buck Rogers.  There was a second, larger, Buck Rogers pose that we use as the character figure (which we had to buy), so these fellows, which Chris can produce, ended up as our rank-and-file "Solar Scouts".  The figures are 54mm semi-flats.

This is my first mini ever, painted (1984)  - Ral partha 1977 is printed on the bottom.

I found another copy of it at ReaperCon this year.

Most valuable - im pretty cheap - I have one Kingdom Death resin Mountain Man (40$) - but I had to check on the DDS2 dragon - at 45% of the price of the set that I bought on evilbay it is less than 40.

Oldest: Probably dad's old D&D figures he gave me...  Although I don't know where they currently are.  Man those things are tiny, but I think they had their dungeons and such scaled more for 15mm, as you can fit more on a small table that way...

Rarest: I don't really think any of what I have is rare, given that most of what I have is either current production, or went out of production when Age of Sigmar came in (and they finished converting most of their lineup to plastic), so I'll say my Skaven Grey Seer.

IMG_20180702_233236.thumb.jpg.0b250380325c3b9467b9400027d89014.jpgIMG_20180702_233250.thumb.jpg.61e6cf805774da331c19c9026930036f.jpg

^Pretty much how he looks at the moment, since I haven't done any additional work to him yet (and probably won't until November, as I'm reaaaaaally liking that idea of doing him up grey-scale as such seems not only fitting, but I'm wanting to try out such a challenge anyways)

Most valuable: If you mean by cost, probably my three Tau tanks (2x Hammerhead, 1x Sky Ray), but if we're more on a personal value...  Probably my first conversion ever, where I didn't like how the 3rd edition boxed starter set for Warhammer 40k didn't have an actual sergeant or leader in it, just regular models for the Dark Eldar...  Then I looked over, and noticed I had all the extra makings of a Space Marine, but no head for him...  Aaaaand he wound up being impaled on said Dark Eldar's bayonet....  Yeah, pretty proud of that.  I have an idea of where it is, but at the moment is currently inaccessible - something about it being in the bedroom, and hubby is asleep.

If I were to choose a Reaper Mini figure that's most valuable to me, it's definitely my Reaver of Kargir, even if his arms haven't been attached just yet...

This figure is a dragon made by Dragontooth miniatures back in the 70s. One of these dragons appears on the cover of the book 'Dicing with Dragons'. But it is painted green. This dragon is a contender for the oldest dragon. But I think that distinction goes to the minifigs dragon from their faux LotR miniatures line.

Single trip, 36 km, usually something between half an hour and 45 minutes.
