I need a name for this cat

Recommended Posts

Dawnbreaker, Reaver of Souls of the Mortal Realm...  Bow down before their majestic silvery-grey fluffyness! Maybe?

I was always terrible with cat names.... Then again, I'm no better at dog names, lol

Cats thinks the 'name' this is just silly, and only accepts it because we feed them.

Mostly they prefer descriptive titles such as 'she who rules with sharp claws', 'she who prefers the window perch', 'she who catches birds'...

'Your majesty' is also an accepted title... barely.

Honestly... as long as you give them a good, firm bellyrub you could call them anything you want.

Pandora, maybe, or Nimrod?

Athene is also good for the more ferocious ones, or if they dole out both kindness and pain, Freya might be good.

(Cats accepts names of gods because they're almost at a cat's level in inscrutability)

Lady McStinkyButt is my cat's title. She seems to accept it.

Thanks for all the ideas.  We have decided on "Astra".  The vet tells me she is recovering comfortably and I can go get her in a couple of hours.

Is she a necromancer bent on world destruction? Cuz uhh.... that's who Astra was in the book I just read.

If we went with what gets used, most of them would be named "Kitty No" and "Dammit Kat".

LOL.  When I was a kid, one of my dad's co-workers gave us a 6 month old kitten he had named Dammit Kitty.  Mom renamed him because she didn't want her 2 and 6 year old overheard calling his name.

As for name suggestions, I really liked Pewter

I have given my step-nephew's cat (who lives with my brother and sister in law while his owner lives in Denver) the nickname of "Thud" for the sound he makes getting off of anything. His actual name is Butters after the SouthPark character. My cat on the other hand is named Kali after the Hindu goddess. She gets called Kali cat and KK a lot.

I finally got around to taking photo's of MuuMuu.  I got her orgianlly as a possible bonus figure for modern Zombicide.  Never got around to painting her before getting sucked into black plague.  So I decided to finisher up.  Here is MuuMuu:

Thanks for any looking and any C&C you feel like giving.

Here is the female assassin from the Grenadier Action Art set “Monsters”. I don’t really think of female assassins as monsters, except in the metaphorical sense. I would have been a little disappointed if a box labeled “Monsters” had had a bunch of people. But anyway... Her face is a bit rough; the sculpting makes her look old, but her short dress seems to imply a young woman. But maybe it’s just a long shirt?

This bones mini came attached to a rectangular base, like a coffin-top. The base was larger than a standard grid, so I chopped it off and stuck the mini on this base instead.  I figured it would give her a fun windswept look, like she was glaring down at the battlefield from a height.  :-)

The TMM globbed in a strange way on this mini that wasn't obvious to the naked eye.  I'm wondering if some of this is glare...?

Next problem: the base made her too tall to fit into my miniature storage...

Fun Dark Sword mage that I finished recently. I painted her fairly quickly so I did not do a WIP thread. I am really happy with how her skin turned out, I think skin is finally clicking with me. Also tried NMM gold for the first time and actually really enjoyed it. Defintely will do more NMM in the future as it made painting the fiddly bits easier. TMM was a pain when I previously painted Dark Sword Miniatures with similar ornaments, it’s good for large areas not so much for tiny ones. One last thing is a slight conversion, she was sculpted with a bottle in her hand that I made into a mushroom to tie her to the base more.

I've had a lot of fun this august painting a bunch of miniatures.
The first of them is that gorgeous sculpt from Darksword miniatures. Their figures have that old school fantasy look that it's really enjoyable, and a pleasure to paint.

I love the character Medea, from Greek Mythology: my first idea was to copy the Medea on "Medea and Jason" from Pre-Raphaelite artist John William Waterhouse: but then I realized I've been using a red palette too much lately, so I changed to an orange-yellow one I've been wanting to try since I painted Ariel's wings. Since I've also abandoned the freehand arabesque I planned to paint and gived her a tan, the resemblance to what had to be is near to zero right now...
Ultimately I'm happy with it, although I may have overhighlighted it.

P.S. Thanks to the photo I realize now I painted her strabic....
