Wizkids T-Rex

I saw him in my FLGS this weekend, and he really is an amazing sculpt.  You have given him an equally amazing paint job!

Easily the best T-Rex sculpt and paint job I've seen! Seriously, you painted it up so well.

I wasn't sure what to make of it when I saw the unpainted sculpt online. Definitely have to buy this one now. Straight up amazing.

Right there with you.  When I saw the previews for it, I was all "ehhhh...maybe not".  Then I saw it in person and was sold immediately and had to get some paint on it right away. Thank you!

Wowzers.  My first thought when I saw the image was, "This must be the sample picture from the catalog to show you how it's *supposed* to be painted..." and then, "... oh, wait, this is how it *is* painted?  Whoa."

That is very high praise indeed. Thank you!

Well, regret passing this over when I saw wizkids previews. Now to see if the storms have it, otherwise its several months if waiting for restock.

Beautiful paint job.

I hope you find one, it's a cool figure and fun to paint! I'm pretty sure they'll be easier to track down than say, a Beholder.

LOL, I checked out a good deal of your Lost World thread (which I love).  Yes, you do have lots of Rex's! Still, always room for one more, eh?

Awesome job on the Dino!

I kinda regret not getting one myself with my recent order but I think this wave is either not as popular as the previous or retailers/wizkids brought in more product.

Either way eventually I'll get one or two.  Need to convert one for a zombie version. :zombie:

Venus, as we all know, is a boiling toxic hell of molten metal and sulfurous rains. But in our grandparents' day and the day of *their* parents, it was a mysterious swamp/rainforest of impossible lushness and growth, a primordial and fecund Ur-Jungle of perpetual rot and growth. So it is in my Spacefuture games.

Nolzur's makes a Displacer Beast, which iconic D&D monster was inspired by van Vogt's Coeurl (from the "Voyage of the Space-Beagle"). It seemed fitting to paint it up as a SPACE PANTHER! taking patterning cues evenly from tigers and blue-ringed octopodes.

Here is a Hydra Valkeeri trooper with a disruptor rifle. They are a broad-shouldered, statuesque people, and I've painted them as photosynthetic.

Which is the more dangerous game? Who the hunted, and who the hunter?

Or do they hunt together, pursuing that floundering interloper upon their planet--MAN? (Yes, it's that one; that's what they are hunting.)

The TerrainCrate set I got included a heap of Abandoned Mine stuff, including mine carts, mine cart tracks, pickaxes and shovels, Big Glowy Crystals, crates, barrels, debris, and some dynamite kegs. I'm introducing this to my Weird West game as the Lost Mines of Joaquin Carrasquillo. Joaquin (played by 50319, Olaf, Dwarf Gambler) knows *where* his mining concern is, but has recently lost control of it. Dug too greedily...an' too deep. Awoke summat dark down there, forgotten by th' people of the world above. (It's Grab-oids with the serial numbers filed off.)

Anyway, there's a lot of stuff to paint and here's the first installment! Tracks, mine carts, and equipment. The Crate came with three of each mining miniature. I gave the three mine carts slightly different colors (Rough Iron, cheap Gunmetal Grey, and a 50/50 mix of black and metallic pearl), and will probably rust the hell out of one of them. Two loads of coal; I'll need to do some research into silver ore before I paint the third cartload.

Rack of mining equipment (needs a touchup and I should paint the lantern glass; also need to wash the wood with something dark)

and a bunch of tracks! These probably would have benefited from a more patient man doing the painting. There are a LOT of track pieces--at least six of each straight track bit and three each of the others. I don't think I'll revisit the creosote ties, but I might rust up some of those rails. Typhus Corrosion and a bit of reddish brown, at least.

The Crate also came with a set of Dungeon Traps, which included this beautiful mad-science Big Chunky Switch. It seemed like exactly the sort of thing adventurers in an out-of-control mine cart barrelling towards an intersection might have to lasso/shoot so as to switch tracks from Certain Horrible Doom to Possible Unspecified Doom.
