( Thanks to TGP, Talespinner and Cyradis)

My awesome housemate made soup on Saturday night ::D:

Apologies for the state of the table, I was prepping a rough map for our Pathfinder game ::P:

The soup is Vegetable Broth, from what I can remember the recipe is-

Soak a big bowl of lentils/barley/split peas overnight

Chop up a lot of turnip/potatoes/leeks/carrots

Add a stock tube or whatever seasoning you like

add a squish of tomato puree

Bring to the boil and simmer for at least an hour

Consume soup at every meal for the next 2 days ::D:

I don't think any of my stuff is that valuable, but I'd never sell the cats or my mini paints, I'm terrible at mixing colours

Nov. 6 : What would you put in a time capsule for future generations to find?

BONUS QUESTION : Did you ever made a time capsule? What was in that one?

I'd put in a bluray player and a copy of every tv series that David Attenborough has fronted. Future generations deserve to see the world through his eyes :poke:

Another one of these, but orbiting Earth.

But we could do better. If it only has to reach (let’s say) geosynchronous orbit and it doesn’t have to have a Science payload the orbiter could have a lot more discs and much more information.

A second vehicle with the identical data orbiting the moon wouldnt hurt either.

I think everyone's pretty much covered it here!

Bonus - my husband and I were considering making a time capsule as part of our 5 year anniversary next month. Now we're definitely going to!

We'll probably put in tickets to things we've seen together, a couple photos of us, maybe some recipes of our favorite foods right now. A song list!

Back up your hard drives as they currently exist onto thumb drives? and toss them in there. Sorta depends on where you are gonna bury it though.

Tough question...

I'd have to go with various small trinkets from my grandparents/other family members/friends.

I have no idea. You've all already made some pretty good suggestions.

No, I have not.

Probably fly. Travelling through time would (I suppose) allow me to visit many of the famous heroes and heroines of history. And I have a sneaking suspicion that most of them would not be half so impressive in the flesh as the history books have told us.

And being able to fly would be such fun!

****Looks at Avatar****

Going with Fly

Besides Time Travel is fraught with problems :: it just creates endlessly branching alternate realities everytime it is tried.

Fly. I've been afraid of time travel ever since someone pointed out the medical advances we've made.

 I would travel through time.

Just would love to see the animals that existed before man arrived.

And I would like to see ordinary life during several periods.

Probably fly. I have dreams about flying and they're quite pleasant. Every experience I've had with time travel has ended badly, so I don't think I'd want that.

Though, if I was more on the chaotic neutral scale, it might be fun to travel through time elfing things up just to see how the future changed.

I would like to see how much feather coverage dinosaurs had. But, only if the time machine provided a view only/see-without-being-seen capability.

That's what I had in mind, not being seen, not interfering.

As for the Dinos, recent studies seem to point out that the big sauropods didn't have feathers. The smaller Therapods like Raptors did.

Bigger ones like T-Rex are now thought to be featherless. Something due to their size it would not have made sense, like why elephants no longer have fur etc..

I would love to see what was true.

And I'm very interested in the periods before the Dinosaurs, Permian, Devonian, Cambrian, there were so many weird creatures then.

I would be thrilled to see a real Dimetrodon and watch what that sail was actually used for.

Maybe even be able to understand what caused the Great Dying.

I love both history and nature.

We can learn so much from it.

Probably Fly, since I've been hang gliding and love it.  Being able to dive off a cliff somewhere and soar through a valley would be awesome.  You'd be getting to experience a drone or aerial video firsthand. ::D:

Though the temptation to time travel and muck about with history is strong.  It'd be cool if the time machine had some sort of predictive capability to show the butterfly effect of any changes you made; ideally before you made them.

Ooooh, that's a bit of a tough call to make between the two, as they both have their own appeals...

So I'll say both, since it isn't one of those "if you HAD to choose between the two" things, mwa ha ha ha ha!   Because it would be awesome to be a flying fox that can travel through time...
