Copy and paste from last month. Had hoped to finish the 5 elf cavalry by today but the odds of it happening are very low. Got a little bit painted on all of them and made a list of what I still want to make before trying out my siege.

Current list in rough order of priority.

Paint 5 GW HE reaver knights

Make ruined tower for my castle

Make mine head for siege scenario

Make more mantlets and some other odds and ends for siege scenario.

Assemble and paint my huge Harlequin trebuchet

Paint or repaint the handful of elf characters that aren't finished yet. Would love to say that after 20 years my HE army is 100% painted.

Paint some of my assembled Frostgrave minis.

In keeping with my 2018 goals my November goals include:

  1. Paint a pug miniature
  2. Paint Squid Boy from Thunderbolt Mountain
  3. Paint the last two figures in my annual box.
  4. Paint the Secret Sophie figure and get it in the mail
  5. Finish the last Mithril Miniature for the month of December

I also plan to fill the annual box with figures for next year's goals.

buckyball

My 2018 hobby goals include:

  • Running a Dark Conspiracy RPG for my gaming group
  • Running a Frostgrave/Ghost Arch game at Reapercon in September (I sort of did this. I played, but it wasn't on the schedule)
  • Painting the 10 miniatures from the hasslefree kickstarter ( I got 4 painted)
  • Painting the 6 miniatures from the Going Native kickstarter (These have not come yet)
  • Painting the 5 miniatures from the Bear's  Head kickstarter
  • Continue painting the Monthly Mithril Miniatures (on track with eleven)
  • Reduce and limit the WIP box (formerly the shelf o' shame) to 6 figures. It currently sits at  >12

A few come to mind...

  • Fill gaps in Minotaur Demon Lord (carried over from Nov)
  • Finish greenstuffing of Wyrmgear (carried over from Nov)
  • Finish CAV Secret Santa mini
  • Start & finish Secret Sophie mini
  • Yeti contest mini!
  • Clean and tidy up painting desk (I kind of have no room to really work on things at the moment!)
  • Resume work on my Unrelenting Tide (Skaven Army).  Bonus: Assemble a full unit.  Second bonus: Paint a full unit!
  • Finishing painting one of my gnolls for Furiously Fluffy Howling Hounds!
  • Assemble (and liner) several minis for hubby (he enjoys painting, not the assembly stuff)
  • Assemble at least two of the CAVs in my backlog
  • Catalog/list what minis I have - those that are painted, those I have now, and it would be nice to have my wishlist centralized in said document too.

Pretty sure I forgot to post goals for last month. The only goal I had was to finish Minivember and I did that! Now for a whole other set of things to do.

So for December:

  • Start diorama for friend
  • Finish FrGQ for giveaway
  • Coordinate with mini swap person to figure out logistics

Probably some other things that I'm not recalling currently. The second one is the most important right now but I need like a week away from painting to recoup from painting /SO MANY/ minis last month.

ETA: I thought of more stuff.

  • Reset myself to start working on my blog series again in January
  • Take and post Minivember 2018 photos
  • Pick up some shelved things:
    • Mini Ma'al
    • Ma'al
  • Take photos of Marthrangul
  • Continue putting together All Mini's Eve calendar
  • Start conversion (see below)
  • Find boxes the right size for mailing minis (and packing material to protect them in transit)

I was going to do the Angel of Shadows contest last month but didn't get around to it for obvious reasons. I am now going to steal her wings and put them on another mini for a conversion for Husband's 4E game, it'll be a PC mini for when they level up in a couple levels so I should probably start on that to have it done in time.

Lots of Kingdom Death to work on this month.

Start Gold Smoke Knight.

Re-base White Lion on 3D printed base & add tall grass

Paint Tall Grass terrain

Start Dung Beetle Knight

Assemble Dragon King: (assuming no delivery delays)

- hunt dragon king in solo KDM game.

Plan End of Year Photo's.

+ 3 more from Bones core3.  Minivember helped a lot, but I should keep plugging away.   115 of 153 remain.

Finish Fire Giant Princess

I haven't had a plan in a long time but I was thinking maybe 30 minis in 30 days. No, too ambitious, how about 20 minis.  I have at least that many in various stages from freshly primed to why isn't this done yet.  I'm at 50 for the year, +20 would be a good finisher.

I made a hobby goal to start my first miniature in October, which I did.... so I guess I'll make my goal for December to finish painting that miniature... maybe.

Back in November, I halfheartedly challenged my son to see who could get the most minis painted over his Thanksgiving break from high school.  I did it mostly to see if I could motivate him to paint some more, since he just started painting at ReaperCon, and I want him to keep with it, and I knew that he could easily beat me because I had to work.  He declined, but then near the end of the week, he counter challenged me to the same contest for the entire month of December. As a result, I made it a goal to get 31 minis painted this month.

So today, I got 1 mini done, to his 0 because he chose to play XBox all day.  I'm almost done with 2 more.  At this rate, I'm going to kick his butt by the end of the week, and seriously demotivate him.

It looks like I'm going to have to get a whole bunch of minis ALMOST done, and then finish them all on the 31st.

The settling in after the move plus Christmas is going to be a serious time sink this month, so my goal is going to be to paint more than last month. ::P:

At least last month wasn't a zero month; despite the move and a stressful work situation, I did finish two miniatures...

However, as I've been moving my lead mountain, it looks like next year's goals are going to have to be in terms of units per month.

December is Secret Sophie month so my main goal is to work on that.  As of today that includes:

  • 1 mini prepped and primed
  • 2 minis prepped
  • 2 bases prepped
  • 1 of the above minis attached to 1 of the above bases.

This is a painting week so fingers crossed most of the work will get done this week.  Beyond that I'll go back to work on a large scale mini but I doubt I finish anything in time to enter it into the forum contests.

I was off work today and somewhat productive.
