No...caffeine doesn't do anything for me, so I never bothered getting used to the taste.

This.  I found out in high school that caffeine has no effect, so never got into the habit.

Well, my Nephew and his wife bought a plaque for me that says "My blood type is coffee" Kind of sums it up.

I have a plaque like that in my kitchen.

Question for January 19, 2019

Coffee? Yes or no?

Begrudgingly, yes.

I much prefer tea but sometimes coffee is the better or more expedient option.  When I do drink coffee these days, I drink it black.  If the caffeine doesn't keep you up, the taste will.

(This said, I do tend to have a peppermint mocha every year around Christmas, but that's more as a treat than a commitment to coffee.)

I'm surprised at how many nos there are.

The randomness thread tends to give the impression that everyone here needs a coffee iv or they'll die. Really, they're just very vocal about it.

Question for January 19, 2019

Coffee? Yes or no?

Yes, sometimes.  I enjoyed coffee for many years, started drinking my dad's coffee in junior high.  Sometime in the 90's I moved over to drinking more tea, but still enjoyed coffee at restaurants after dinner.  About 3 years ago I picked up the habit again because of a really good coffee shop near my husband's office, we would meet there a few times a week.  They closed last year so I'm on the hunt for a new hangout.  Custom roasting/grinding is trending around here, but I haven't found a place that can brew it properly.  I may just have to give it up again, anyway, because it has some uncomfortable side effects I am getting tired of dealing with.

I'm surprised at how many nos there are. So I'll add mine. No, very rarely drink it. Lots of caffeine just makes me shaky and I prefer my water to not be brown. Don't care for hot drinks most of the time.

I too generally prefer cold drinks to hot drinks, except soup- soup is the best hot drink!

That's terrible! What a jerk! Im sorry he ruined something you enjoy.

That's okay, I think my post made it sound a lot blunter than it was- don't get me wrong it's still not nice but I wasn't a huge coffee addict anyway and the guy I cared for even less XD

Coffee? Yes or no?

Yes but only a couple of cups and rarely after noon. If I have more than a couple of cups, I feel jittery and just off in general. Although I have found that is more due to what I put in it. I do like everything from black to ones that are more sugar and milk than coffee from Starbucks. Favorite though is black with honey.

Coffee? Yes or no?

Yes, sort of.

Generally, I'm more of a tea person, but I like a cup of coffee or two a day too.

But it's not proper 'coffee' coffee (that stuff tastes terrible), it's prepacked little sachets of the stuff, usually with different flavours (Double Choc Mocha ftw!).

A great comment from my former Supervisor, we had just apprehended a very sick sex offender and he was getting pretty mouthy as we were putting him into my cruiser. My boss looked at him and stated "The only reason you're still sucking air is Collier had decaf this morning."

Ignore the sourcing of that picture, it's still a 'yes'.

Question for January 18, 2019

How did you get into painting minis?

We were playing D&D and I was starting to get tired of using tokens to represent everything.  I figured I'd start with PCs and picked up the Reaper Dungeon Adventurers pistol case.  Shortly thereafter Bones 1 delivered and I picked up a Vampire box at KS pricing.  I haven't finished painting either, and I've only purchased 20 minis since.

No, back in the day I used Dr Pepper for my caffeine fix. Now I don't do caffeine because it does not agree with me.
