Feb. 11: Do you collect anything, (aside for minis of course)?  (Pictures welcome)

Moving boxes. We moved here months ago, but we also move every year soooo. I get tired of unpacking things when we're just going to move again.

I don't think I really collect anything. I have a few books, a few board games, a couple statues. But there's never been anything that came out where I want to collect it all. A friend recently moved several states away and dropped off a ton of his collection stuff, so I have been effectively frozen and overwhelmed. I don't know what to do with all this stuff.

Probably the closest would be collecting many of the dyes in GW2 and mini pets back when I played WoW.

Are you on the run? And if so, are you one of the bounties that @buglips*the*goblin is collecting?

Injuries. Three broken bones, six well-defined scars (five surgical in origin) and two noticeable on careful inspection, several muscle/joint/nerve problems. Wish I could say it was all obtained during my athletic days, but only two broken bones came during that time; the rest has come in the past five years.

Sorry, no pics, lol.

Interesting rocks from around the world. Anytime I travel I try to grab at least one interesting rock from the native geology. I ask friends to do the same (provided it's not from a national park or indigenous reservation) when they travel to places I've never been. There's a few really nice specimens in there from a couple of geologist friends. Unfortunately, most of it got packed up in the last move and I've never really got around to breaking out the collection. I've got a spot in the attic picked out to display it, just haven't gotten around to fixing that bit of the house up yet. I'm reluctant to put it on display in any of the more lived in areas of the house as the collection is likely emitting low levels of radiation.

I also collect high alcohol beers and certain sour beers for aging in much the same way a wine enthusiast fills a cellar. Given they are meant for consumption this collection frequently changes. I find, however, that the older I get the less I drink. Because as much as I like a good beer. I like being 100% functional the day after having a good beer even more. So these pretty much only get opened during special events or in the presence of several friends. As a result the beer cellar is a bit overflowing right now. When this has happened in the past we've hosted a beer tasting party where I'll invite a couple dozen friends over and bring a few cases of select beers up from the cellar. That way I can get the size of the collection under control and other folks get a chance to enjoy something unique they may not be able to find otherwise. It's been a while since we've had one of those parties due to scheduling issues, so my cellar is currently at maximum capacity.

Hmm...I guess in that vein I'm collecting cardioversions; I'm up to 32 now (that I am aware of, not sure how many occurred during my 4 heart ablations as I was not aware at the time.)

Oh whoa, don't have to sad face that last one guys.  I really didn't mean to bring y'all down.  I guess I'm so used to it now that I don't think about it as something to be sad about, it just is a fact of life.  My heart issue isn't deadly, just freaking annoying every 5 years or so.  It's genetic and just is.  I was more laughing about it.  When my heart goes out of rhythm I have to go in to the ER and get a reboot.  I guess I got the Windows Vista heart.

There was a span back in 2012 where I was going in once every week or two.  I got to know the ER nurses on a first name basis.  When I'd walk in Terry would call out a greeting and tell me he had me in room six and would I be so good as to go in a hook myself up (which I couldn't, but probably could have made a good attempt).  I haven't have one now since the last ablation in 2013, but the signs are there that is is starting to come back again, which is to be expected.

I have pre and post surgical x-rays and photos, but I'm not sharing.

I collect a lot, too much in fact. Some of it is in boxes that haven't seen the light of day in decades.  Here are some that were easy to get pics of:

The crap on top of my desk:

Depression and Carnival glass (and other pretty stuff):

This is a fraction of the sewing books and fabric:

I also collect scenic watercolors/prints by local artists, from places we travel to.

Likewise from me. Every injury I have tells a story, makes me interesting (though I am far far away from being the most interesting man in the world).

It's just that apart from the minis, paint and all, I don't actively collect anything.

Oh, yeah, I collect beers too. Not in the "I'm gonna fill a cellar with bottles of great beer" but in the "taste as many different ones as I can"

Question for, Sun., Feb. 10:

What websites (such as, but not limited to, social media) do you actively avoid at all costs?

I try very hard not to go to porn sites when I'm at work.

Xenomorph figures and xenomorph related paraphernalia. I used to collect a lot more regularly, but there was a lot less being produced at that time. Now I can't keep up with it so I became a lot more selective. My favourite things in my collection are my original Kenner Series 1 Alien Queen & Scorpion Alien, both of which I've had since the 90's when they were released, and my two quarter scale xenomorph figures, (one is the Big Chap style from the first movie and the other is the second movie style) but unfortunately one of them has to live in the bathroom because my cat chews on it <_< and the other one lives in its box on my dresser for the same reason.

I guess I collect some stuffed animals, but they're mostly horror related and are more things that I've accumulated. I also have some things like funko pops but I don't really actively collect them, they just occasionally come out with ones that I like.

Honestly I have a lot of collectibles for things that I have either lost interest in or someone else bought them for me and I just haven't had the heart to get rid of them.

Is that Untapped? If so I downloaded that once when I saw a brewery I was at had a live feed behind the bar showing which of their beers users just tried. It also would flash your profile picture real big on the screen for a second. So I of course downloaded the app immediately and started logging in all their beers just so other patrons would be forced to look at a picture of my cats. Haven't used it since, but I do kind of like the idea.

Funko Pops, fantasy novels, and babywearing implements (wraps/carriers.)  I need a better way to display the Pops - some steps or something so they are easier to see in the back.  Also some of my Sailor Scouts are having trouble standing up, lol.

Hiya, welcome to the herd. For the Funcos in the second and third rows, check out the Styrofoam blocks they make for sticking flowers in. They make them in different sizes, they don't weigh anything and they are cheap!

Some would say I collect a few things...

- Display knives (although I really want to get into swords... Asian for me and hubby wants European ones)

- Computer parts of varying vintages (I have a few trays of CPUs, a dozen or so GPU's, about a dozen motherboards, several dozen sticks of RAM (mostly DDR2, some DDR3), etc)

- vinyl records (was a vinyl only DJ for a while, now I'm digital vinyl because Beatport is waaaaay cheaper)

- compact disks

- sort of have a DVD collection

- older(ish) gaming consoles and games for said consoles

I'll try to remember to take pics when I get home, but it's one of those "be warned, it's a small collection" kinda things

Good advice to follow, since if you just use your phone odds are you'll still wind up in trouble at some point, aka getting caught...
