Maybe "favorite sunrise/set" should be a future GTKY question. I'd love to see everyone's!

I have a pic lurking on my phone for just such an occasion.

Feb 20: Who is your favorite fantasy artist (2D)?

Bonus: Post a link/image of your favorite painting/illustration of theirs.

Luis Royo

Todd Lockwood, who pretty much defined how 3rd edition looked, but I love him for this one...

I too am a huge Todd Lockwood fan.  I think his dragons are what dragons should look like. He really pays attention to anatomy and musculature in a much more plausable way than nearly anyone else.

I'm also a big fan of Jessica Rich.  I know most know her for her mini painting, but she is also an excellent 2D artist. I especially love her animal watercolors.  Here are a few of my favorites:

And my absolute favorite:

Her ravens inspired me to add a raven to my recent Druid turtle sculpt.

I knew she did 2d work, but hadn't seen any that wasn't on one of her minis. Those are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing them.

How could I ever forget.

My real proper favourite, Paul Kidby.

OK, utterly shameless boasting now.

I commissioned and own this:

Yes, and a second one in the works. (But not a Discworld subject)

I have to spend the children's inheritance on something, you know.

Seriously, I am very envious.

I have some prints of his Discworld work that I purchased through the online Discworld store that his exwife now runs, but none were even signed by him. (They were signed by Terry Pratchett however)

The only original work of any kind that I own from a well known artist is this small drawing by Larry Elmore, which he drew for me as a backer at a certain pledge level of his first kickstarter.
