Mantic library mini crate

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone!  For the two hour investment I thought it came out rather well.  looking at it, I probably need to spend a little more time drilling and adding pins to the bottom of each of the bookcases so that they will stack neatly and not fall over.  I also may go back and dress up the desks with some metallic.

Magnificent stuff! I think I took more than twice as long for an outcome less than half that good. Lovely colors, and yes to some metal accents on the desks and ladder!

thanks for the compliment!  As you can see, our librarian will bend over backwards to help even if you want something from the very top shelf... or the ceiling, in this case!

Nah he has just been carrying Paizo Core handbooks all day & has yet to relax himself back into normal position.

Excellent work on all of these. I finally got to see this or least retail boxes while at LVO. They look interesting but with the 3D printer & access to files & such I haven't had the need for them. Love the bookcases thou. The books look a hell of lot easier to paint up then the Fat Dragon bookcases (books are set deeper then the shelves....ughhh).

The books on these shelves are really well positioned.  Far enough in to set the sides and the back of the bookcase is true shadow, making painting easy, and they close enough to the edge that the cover colors aren't shrouded by the shelf overhang.

The only thing I would have liked for realism is a few more horizontal stacks.

I had fun painting these Bones mushroom men (SKU 77345) to a tabletop standard.  Their faces are so derpy and cool!

I Don't have much to go on with this dragon.  its another one that has been sitting half finished on my shelf forever.  the bottom has some script on the bottom that looks like FWS and an 8.  other than that I don't have any clue where it comes from.

but I finally dusted the mini off, freshened up the red (It was becoming a pink dragon) and decided to display it here.  hope everyone enjoys!

What else to finish off the month of January but another dragon from my shelf of shame?  This is Ollie.  Ollie is from Impact miniatures and is supposed to be a mascot for one of the bloodbowl teams.  Tom Acquired the license to produce him and I got a copy.  I used him to test a number of different red effects and styles while working on another, bigger dragon.  The skills may not have panned out like I wanted but Ollie still came out pretty well and deserved to be finished and shown off.  Pictures are still with a phone camera but at least I got to my light box!  So without further ado:

I needed some drow type critters done up in case my group manages to skip ahead in our current campaign and go straight underground. I also wanted to clear a few more bones minis off my shelf to free up more room in anticipation of bones 4. I know these aren't all dark elves, or even elves, but they all seemed to kind of go together when I put them on the work bench. So three very rapid paint jobs later and I'm ready to do a little underdark-ish campaigning if the group gets there before all the stuff in the darkreach expansion gets to me.
