Reaper Karaoke Cafe: What do you sing?

Recommended Posts

"Re: Your Brains" by Jonathan Coulton.

Because I'm so tone deaf that even Helen Keller would be asking for earplugs, I'll spare you all the pain of listening to me belt out Queen songs. And I'll try to stop myself from Rick Rolling everyone. I also feel like doing "Rocket Man" as performed by William Shatter would be too cliché.

You could do William Shatner's Rocket Man as Christopher Walken. He talks like that too

We don't care if you can sing or not.

But I do. Therefore not singing, definitely not

It so happens that some friends and I go to karaoke about once a month.  And while I am not a particularly capable singer, I could bring along some people that can absolutely rock the house.

I'd personally go with Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen.

If I can find four like-minded big bearded dudes, The Spice Girls' Wannabe is a favorite. For costume I'd rather Posh, but vocally I'd prefer to sing Scary.

Solo, I've been known to throw down on Kesha's TikTok.

But my usual karaoke go-to is Sinatra's Fly Me to the Moon or Creedence' Green River.

... I'm a man of complex tastes.

So, you're saying you sound like Scuttle the seagull from the little mermaid?

I figured @Glitterwolf would be singing "Who Let the Dogs Out" by Baha Men, with @Chaoswolf doing backup. ::P:

I rather sing this:

Men of Harlech - the version from Zulu - a cappella because who needs a machine

The Alamo - Kingston Trio version - because Texas again a cappella

Zombie Jamboree - Kingston Trio (again) - because this group would like it and again a cappella

Can you convince me to lead off the auction with a song?

I sang to my boys to help get them to sleep and do it for my daughter now. It's one of those things where they go, "please, stop! We'll be quiet! Just make it stoppppp!" Not really but my singing voice ain't good. Used to sing a lot of dirty songs with friends when I was in university. We had enough priming in us it didn't matter what we sounded like. It was fun. With my voice I'm better off trying slow songs like something by Merle Haggard. I don't drink enough anymore to perform in public.

My songs of choice?

70s anime theme songs, dubbed in French.

I'll use my best falsetto.

Sorry honey, while you weren't looking I swapped it for this

I used to have to drag him to karaoke, complaining at every step. When he stopped complaining I knew that I was WINNING!

I'll be singing Witches' Reel.

Grump introduced me to the song and its history - so of COURSE I'm dragging him into it!
