April showers bring May...be painted minis (April Hobby Goals)

Recommended Posts

Decided to start this months thread myself. Still have a couple weeks or more before getting back into full working mode on the farm so hoping to finish off a few things.

Goals

Finish a dozen Frostgrave girls that are partly painted.

Paint a dozen Frostgrave cultists.

Finish everything I need for Rangers of Shadowdeep. 2 giant snakes, some more zombies, make a lot of walls and finally try making some gaming mats out of canvas.

Do whatever my butterfly attention span grabs onto at the moment.

Same here. I'm kind of amazed how much I did finish in the couple of bursts I had painting. Nothing fancy but a painted mini is a painted mini. Helped that I had a bunch of minis with some paint on them to start with. Took less time to finish when I focused on them.

It's yard clean-up and garden time here, weather permitting.  If I have time for minis:

-- finish half a dozen rpg figures I started over the winter

-- put some more paint on the griffins

-- finish at least 1 of the 3d printed terrain pieces

keeping with my 2019 goals, in April I plan to:

  1. Paint a flying horror monster for Rangers of Shadow Deep
  2. Finish painting an NPC figure for my friend's D&D game
  3. Paint my Igor figure
  4. Paint this month's Mithril miniature

If there is time I also plan to start an entry for this year's Reapercon. But I don't know when my Bones 4 figures will arrive.

My long term goals for 2019:

Paint all the figures in the annual box (6)

Continue my current Rangers of Shadow Deep campaign and perhaps work on two mini campaigns

Paint three entries for miniature painting competitions this year. It has increased to five. (2 down)

Run a Call of Cthulhu game for my roleplaying group

Paint character minis for all the players in my D&D group. (on track with four)

Paint a Mithril miniature each month (on track with three)

Paint one character for a planned RPG event.  It has been a long time since I painted.

You can do it!

My goal, like always, is to finish 4 minis in April.  Should be doable since I have many partially complete.

I could go for mostly continuing things from last month, but such isn't necessarily the plan....

  • Pick a mini (or a set of minis) to practice speed painting on.  Looks like it'll be 50015 Tool Bots, or 89003/89002 Pathfinder Goblins this month, with a leaning towards the tool bots since they're assembled already
  • Continue work on Minotaur Demon Lord
  • Resume work on Ebonwrath (rainbow dragon challenge)
  • Assemble my Narthrax, fill gaps on 2x Narthrax, and then base (and prime!) both!
  • Start working on my Catachans (a Sentinel will probably be what I start with)
  • Work on Djiro, Kogo, Krokuta, and the handful of minotaurs on my desk.  Bonus if Toghra sees work too
  • Prime (with liner) my 5 semi-assembled Ritterlich CAVs
  • Continue work on the Skaven Master Molder / Packmaster

Kind of heavy on furry/fluffy ones, but eh.  Such is life :P

I haven't posted here is a while.  But my yearly goal is to paint at least 1 of my Zombicide Hero, Necromancer, or Abomination a month plus 3 more.  Basically 4 Figures a month or 1 a month. I'm on track for that so far.

April's mini's/hobby goals are:

1) Paint Zombicide Ann from core game.

2) Paint GW Goblin ?skulker?

3) Finish 4 Reaper Bones WWWOZ Tin Men.

4) Paint up my Hirst Arts Ruined Wizard Tower for my Frostgrave board.

If I finish the Above

4) Treasure tokens
