I actually got this painted up some time ago, but realized I never posted any photos. It's dark, but I'm definitely happy with the top of the wings and the face.

C&C Welcome!

Frosty! Looks great San. I agree the wings look excellent even if the pics are a little dark. What's going on with that base? Can't quite see it...

Thanks, Stern. The base is actually just a dark brown basecoat highlighted (drybrushed) up through the same greys and whites on the dragon. The texture on the base is all pumice paste.

Hi there!
Your dragon looks awsome!
I have to agree, the wings do look nice.
Hope you don't mind me asking, but what's pumice paste?
I've only seen it mentioned a couple of times with no info as to what it is.
Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, Betta!

Pumice paste is one of my favorite quick basing materials. Mine is made by Vallejo, but I'm pretty sure Woodland Scenics makes some, as do Golden and LiquiTex.

It's made from a powder of pumice stone and a moldable adhesive gel, so it's pretty much a sandy goo. For an idea of texture, take a look at my paint of Privateer Press' Paldin of the Wall, the base is nothing but a thin layer of pumice paste, basecoated in RMS walnut brown and drybrushed up through a series of greens.

The base can also be built up into little ripples and hills, so you can get a lot of texture with it. If you have rockpiles, it's great for filling in gaps as "dirt," and it also makes a really nice "moss" texture, too. Love the stuff!

Nice job and thanks for sharing. Interesting choice ... I also painted the amber dragon as a white dragon.

This stuff sounds like fun to use!
Gotta get my hands on some.
Have SO many painted minis but, haven't done anything with the bases yet.
Thanks Sanael!
