rusty, it looks like your force has practically no hard-target killing power, beyond the CCV of the rifle teams. If you're denied CC, what do you do?

I know I design all of my forces around a first principle of denying CC to my CAV.

What then?

That's a pretty solid list, capable of taking on both hard and soft targets. Plus you have enough points left to give a couple of your guys the Avenger upgrade. I'd give the Rhino Avenger/3 and the Panther Avenger/1.

This is a nice balanced list for Hard/Soft killing but seems to be pretty light in the IA realm. If there's a lot of terrain on the board you may be finding yourself getting hammered with no chance of return fire. With the speed of Ghasts though you shouldn't have much trouble overcoming that.

The Rhino and Falcon only go 16" on a double move. The Panther can do that in a single and still pop its ECM bubble, which means that pretty much any IF fire this section is going to face in a 2000 pt game isn't very likely to hit.

And of course like you said, the Ghasts can be used effectively to tie up the IF units and give the CAVs time to close.

Brushmaster - the only thing that I might consider doing with your unit is splitting the Puma off into its own Specialist Section. This gives you the flexibility of 3 cards in the init deck, which could come in handy if your opponent is using APCs and Infantry. Hopefully one of your cards will be at the bottom and you can make him commit his forces, then run the Puma up on him and toast 'em. I'd also use the Lightning Warfare Doctrine with this force rather than Superior Tactics. Every model but the Rhino and Panther would benefit from it, especially the Puma and Ghasts.

Ok then , a point aside . Can one switch between faction abilities between rounds in a competition ? I don't see why not but best to ask .

Dunno, best ask Cheryl in the tournament thread.

I'm not so sure I'd want to get hit by a missile with a "dog brain" AI.

Are you asking specifically about RCon or just tournaments in general? If its RCon (I know you're going) then yeah Cher is who you want to talk to. If its just any tournament at your FLGS or a con, that's up to the guy running the event. There is no hard rule on it.

Well in the blurb it says that one can bring 2 lists but wouldn't 2 identicle lists just with different faction SAs work just as well .

In RCon's instance I'd say yes it could.

So as a faction what do you think we need or what would you like to see in the future that is ritterlich only? I was thinking an assault cav in the 400 pt range with longer range guns and about the same punch as a tiger. If i win that xcav thing and get my data card that i want i'll let ya know what i dreampt up. Hell if i lose i'll probably still post pics of it....its wicked cool.

What type of units do the Ritterlich need, what kind of holes are you guys having to fill in with open units?
