Curling... hurdles... bowling... Lissen, I guess I hope they move out or whatever but I'm stealing this and starting a Curdling League. Because if that doesn't sound like a goblin sport I don't know what could.

I have Korben at the office with me today....somewhere along the way I just decided that Fridays are bring your dog to work day. It works well - a lot of people take Fridays off so there's not much going on. I don't have any meetings to go to and if I do need to leave the office for whatever reason, my temp or the girl across the hall are perfectly willing to watch him. He paces around behind my desk half the time and half the time he curls up on his bed and goes to sleep and he never makes a peep, so most people have no idea that he's here until I take him out for a walk. Honestly, I could probably bring him every day and the only time it would be a problem is when I have meetings. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to go to Starbucks at lunch time - I looked up their menu and they had a chicken and artichoke flatbread sandwich that looked really good, so I decided to get that.....except when I got to the drive through, turns out they don't have it in my area. So I asked for a different sandwich - sorry, we're out of that. Ok, how about this sandwich? Nope, out of that too. I wound up with some kind of tomato and basil pesto and mozzarella Panini, which was fine, but just not what I wanted. So then I decided to go and eat it at home instead of taking it back to the office. It was the least peaceful lunch ever, as the people who live above me sounded like they have created a new sport that is a combination of curling, hurdles and bowling. So I was quite annoyed...but then, when I was leaving, there was a U-HAUL truck in the parking lot! Now it might just be a coincidence because if you've ever seen the video of the upstairs neighbours who are putting on an art performance of making noises that the people below them can't identify and they sleep in shifts so that they can always be making noise for their "audience" to "appreciate"? Those are the people that live above me, so it's not that unusual for them to be making an ungodly amount of noise......but you guys, if we could all have a moment of silence this afternoon making wishes that the herd of buffalos above me are moving out, I would greatly appreciate it.

I've never been very good at listening when people tell me not to do things, but I'll try not to cheerlead too much. I'll just simply state that I miss you and I wish that we didn't have some things in common and I absolutely adore you in every way. You were exactly the amazing ray of light in person that I always envisioned you to be, so just remember that shadows come and go but I assure you that every single person that knows you on this forum, whether they've gotten to meet you in person or not, absolutely sees that light. There are so many things about you that are special and amazing and I hope that one day it's as simple as blinking for you to send those bad brain thoughts away. <3

It would mean the end of Darwinism as we know it. Life wouldn't be picking off the genetic and/or intellectual stragglers and the population issues would get exponentially worse. If they didn't solve the issue of competition for limited resources, they'd eventually end up with a Blade Runner-style overcrowded dystopia, and if they did, there's a good chance that society would simply stagnate rather than continue to advance... Screw the world and everybody else in it. Your notes helped YOU. None of those other sculptors are making the minis YOU want to make. None of them are giving them away to YOU or your friends. YOU need them, or obviously YOU wouldn't be making them... Screw the rest of the world and what they need or want. It ain't about them. Never was, never will be.

Well there have been more female warriors through the ages: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/10/141029-amazons-scythians-hunger-games-herodotus-ice-princess-tattoo-cannabis/ Oh and read up on the Celts, the Romans were terrified of them, especially when they brought their wives with them.. The best move would be to counter this feeling by buying another game! Though what would a certain miniature company charge on a per figure basis of they knew that the defense budgets of several first world countries were available. You might ask a certain British Miniature Empire, I think they're already on it... It looks like I'll be making them this afternoon, because timing. Really it's just cute little molds and tempered chocolate. We have little skull molds too. Can I live in your kitchen?

Gee, I have a conundrum: ? One of my former co-workers/office mates called to tell me that a certain contractor was looking for "seasoned, highly experienced test Engineers. They had just opened up the requisitions. He recommended that they contact me, and wanted to know how I felt about that. Should I contact him an apologize for the tea being spit across the room, or the maniacal laughter that probably split his ear drum ? He said... "hmmm... guess you aren't interested" ? ROFL !!!!

Count me in on more riders and/or mounts. There are only two horses with riders in Bones, and both of the riders are pretty heavily armored with lots of barding. A simpler horse with a rider that's wearing lighter armor would help a lot to round out the options. I mean, a dwarf riding a bear is great and all, but it's not as versatile as a couple more horses with humans and/or elves riding. This in no way implies that I wouldn't love to see Roderick and Glitter in Bones. That would be awesome!

That would make for a fun time. I need to start writing out a campaign with that. You need to mess with your players' minds so much that when they finally get to the end of a dungeon, they're afraid to open the chest for loot. OMG can I make a mimic out of pie?! Or gingerbread! Like those amazing people do those houses! I am soooo glad I am not a player.... *** In Mori's world Pie eats YOU!!!****

I couldn't care less about likes..( said the God of Like-Bombing ). Some people ( like me) post a lot, there are others out there who seldom post. That doesn't mean somebody is automatically more or less popular. There is a lot going on on this forum, hobby related as well as random stuff and even serious discussions. I value all of you. We are all contributing to a good thing here. And I don't care if you contribute a little or a lot. As long as you do and in a positive way, I value your input. So all those numbers are just that..numbers...to play with or to ignore. They do not mean that much. The only numbers I do find really really meaningful, when I have painted something, the likes and comments I get then, those I find very valuable. I can learn from the feedback and the likes are a little way to see if my painted mini appeals to others. However, even then, if I painted it and like it myself, then that's the first important thing. All else is fun and good to hear... If nobody would like my stuff, then I wouldn't quit or throw it away... I do like to learn from all these fantastic people here. And I did. The last few years have brought more improvement than the decades before. So to quote a very wise person: Wwhhhyyyy soooo Seriousss???

Oh, and Mori - you make things because if you didn't your fingers start to itch and you start twitching in your seat and then your head explodes, not because of what anyone says. At least that's how it is for me. Granted, the praise is nice too.

Took pics yesterday. Forgot to post em up here. Will do so later. This week - texturing inside done, doors being installed, stucco done, some baseboards and door trim done. Next week - pavers being delivered, exterior paint to be done, cabinets to be delivered and start installation. Today - called and locked in our jumbo loan at 4.25% for 30 years. If interest rates go down, we will refi and get shorter term like 15-20yr. Also today, called insurance company and went they everything we need to get new home insured, re-did some auto insurance stuff added a few coverages, & added an umbrella policy. Gotta protect ourselves. Home owners was a LOT cheaper than we thought it'd be less than $800 for the year. Our mortgage guy had it estimated at $1800. Other than that, we are on schedule for December 14th close, I've got a call in to the solar shades guy he should call me back soon. We are doing open house here tomorrow, dropping price a bit. Heading over to house now to check in and see.

I wanted to try making falafel today. I had to settle for premade, produce department falafel. I have learned that tahini is really gritty, and I don't think I really care for it much. I would have been better off trying to make tzatziki or putting hummus on it. After all, falafel are kinda gritty on their own. Now I'm watching Buffy. It's the episode where Giles comes back. I don't remember why he left, because it's been 3 years since I last watched any Buffy, and before that I don't think I ever really watched it. But, well, Sarah Michelle Gellar...

Hear Ye!" and was allowed to be used in MOE (Merry Olde England) and thus transliteralated across to these shores... to some degree...

Yeah, with Bones IV looming, I'd like to rehash my most wanted list: Baba Yaga and her Dancing Hut (done! I wished hard enough) Resized Storm and Cloud Giants, like how the Fire and Frost were done...one of each gender would be nice, the D&D prepaint line just did the same, but several are named characters and don't lean toward "grunt" status. Leaders for the Hill Giants...a Shaman and Chieftain type. A female Hill Giant would be great to see in Bonesium. Cyclopes. These guys are oddly missing...there was even a sprite of one for Bones III. A Titan would be cool to see. I forty-second an increased variety in mounted pieces. Separate riders and mounts would go a long way toward diversity. Most of the current cavalry in Bones are very specific. Probably the only time I'd request a Dragon since we have a ton: a new Oriental Dragon, the wingless serpent style. Lastly, some human-sized constructs in the vein of the Warforged.

Thanks for the info Heisler! I was going to guess it was something like that, good to know my brain's figuring out how these things work... Dunno if this is a suggestion for forumites or for you folks, but it would be nice to see some of these sorts of answers collected somewhere. Some of the non-obvious stuff, like why the 5pm deadline, or why can't we do a large communal project and donate it to Reaper (considering we've seen it suggested at least twice this year!), As for tablets and software... I can't help much on the tablets, but if you were really interested, I'm sure some of us tech nerd forumites could help come up with the software. Realistically, it's a pretty straightforward data-entry tool. It'd take a bit of time and testing to develop, but we have (most of) a year to do it and a lot of professional nerds... And we'd be putting the source code up online, so it'd even help some of the want-to-be-professional nerds build their resumes because they'd have an open-source project they could contribute to. I'm assuming we'd build it as a web site, so judges would be able to log in with their own phone, tablet, or laptop, and then you'd probably need one or two spares for judges who don't have a phone or tablet of their own to use. Anyway. Let us know if this is something you'd actually be able to use next year (assuming that we clear technical requirements with Bryan) and I'll see if I can wrangle some folks to help design & build it. Or if there's already an open-source tool that does some of what you need but would need tweaks, that'd be even better...

Yes, thanks Mocha! I will be referring to this just before next years con so that I remember who is who. I've got a great memory for faces, but a horrible one for names. (I blame the Navy; every one has their name displayed on at least their shirt, most of the time on their pants as well) That's kinda what I was thinking, too. No matter what time we pick, somebody wouldn't be there. Of course! It was my pleasure :) Great to see you all as well!

So at lunch today my lovely Bride decided she wanted to rearrange the house (read as ME rearrange the house). It's my fault mostly. I asked her if she wanted to do the prep work on her Mousling heroes or if she wanted me to do the mold lines and cleaning. She has determined that she wants to learn how to do the prep work, but doesn't like sitting at the desk in the Den where all our hobby tables are. For now, it appears I get to do the following: 1) Move her hobby desk into the living room. 2) Setup her computer on her hobby desk, but leave it in the living room. 3) Setup her lamp and paint stuff on my old computer desk (with wheels) so she can do Hobby stuff while sitting on the couch. 4) Move the extra couch and love seat out of the living room and into the den. 5) Move the dog sleeping area from the Den to the small room between our bedroom and the den... 6) Move all of my clothes out of the small room so the dogs don't mess with them (or more likely the cats that hop the fence and then try to find something to climb). 7) Move my workbench into the living room (cause she won't do Hobby stuff unless I am in the same room doing Hobby stuff) The only real downside I see to this is that I will have to setup a push to talk or something for Google Hangouts as there will pretty much always be ambient noise moving into that room (she can always watch tv without me, just not hobby type stuff except for her coloring books when she relaxes in bed). Oh, and how much light my Daylight lamp produces on my work area... she really hasn't experienced that yet after I got it. So, yeah, busy weekend... plus all of the planned calculations for ZOMBIEFEST2016 (see previous comments or wait for the WIP).

I'll speak to this point as a member of the MSP Open Crew (Assistant Director as it were, Michael is the Director). Experience has taught us that 5pm is the latest time we can accept entries. Judging sheets have to be prepared and all the entries must be on those sheets (fair warning don't come over and talk to Debbie while she is doing this), Debbie, Mengu, Mona and I spent our dinner time working on creating the sheets. The judging teams (there were 4 this year) are handed out their assignments and given last minute instructions. Judging took approximately three hours and we started right after dinner. Once the judges have hand recorded their scores those scores have to be entered into the system to calculate the medals. While we try to give each team approximately the same number of entries to judge some teams do take longer than others which mean the entry of scores can take a long time. We (well Debbie and Mengu) finished entering the scores at 1am Saturday morning. So sorry, extending the deadline is just not going to happen. In fact just this year I told one of the artists (okay I told Michael to do it, but to be fair he said yes, and I vetoed him after the fact) that I would not except their entry after 5pm either. I suppose if some one was to cough up the funds for tablets and software we could shorten the scoring process considerably. Ah.. that explains it, I heard that there was an issue with a FireFox update messing up the printing process. Thanks again for all of your hardwork
