Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I mostly post on the Reaper Facebook Page and Twitter now. I still check out everything on the "Show off" every day, though! Here is my most recent tartan project. This is Aeslin sculpted by Sandra Garrity. My customer is a fan of the show (and books) Outlander and this figure was chose specifically for it's potential for painting a tartan. The tartan that was picked is the Wilson Ancient Hunting Tartan. It has these very thin quadruple orange lines that give it a very interesting blue/green/orange colour shift look. I was only able to fit in three of the thin lines, but it was enough to give the cool effect.

Inspired by the weekend question, I took some pictures of the army thus far and found that posting it in the question thread would be excessive, also that I didn't have an ongoing thread for my largest painted army so here it is. The plan is to get my Shelf of Incompleteion cleared off then work on reinforcements for this alongside my Old School Undead army. Here we have the Pumpkin construct unit led by a Storybook Witch from Old Glory. I have 3 more of her, but the bag only came with the one flight stand and the Reaper ones I have don't fit, when I get around that, they'll form their own unit. Behind her is Rotpatch, and the scarecrow is hanging out with these guys until I can get a couple more. The constructs are filling the slot of core infantry. Here is a Ral Partha Witch leading the Pumpkin Knight heavy infantry consisting of the Halloween Knight and converted Barrow Wardens. Willow Greenivy leading the skeletal Pumpkin Guard. 10 newer GW skeletions and a variety of Reaper Bones. Elise with the Pumpkin Chucker and some Bones skeletal archers providing ranged support. A female Necromancer and the Etherial Legion of ghosts and wraiths. An Iconic Witch, Pumpkin Spider, and friends. A converted Brettonian Sorceress with the skeletal heavy infantry. Basically, what happens when adventurers irritate the witches. Bats, wolves, and allied vampires. Another vampire and werewolf allies. Zombies, ghouls, and another Reaper Witch. Beastmen and hell hounds with an infernalist witch.

Hello forum family, I wanna share with ya all my most recent fatigue: Marthragul! I was in doubt if painting it into a realistical Earth dragon, or something more colourful... The Magenta won! :D And I chose to don't cut corners, so no drybrush, no washes, no feathering... just dear, old layering, shading and glazing ...cause I'm a fast painter, as you know And, yeah! This took me almost a month of at least two hours per day... basically I hate this dragon now Enough talking, time for pics :D I really hope you like it, if you have any question do not hesitate :) As always every C&C is more than welcome. Thank you :)

One day paint. So when I started this, Elder Spawn was drawing Anime superheroes. Wifey and Mini-spawn were cooking stuffing. --- While I didn't get to the Monet exibit due to snow, I could still look up his work. pointillism is fun. The waterlillies were more fun than I expected.

Grump has informed me that the PCs are meeting in a tavern. A step up from meeting in a haunted fun house?

We took the kids to see Frozen 2 yesterday. Not the most amazing movie ever, but fun and fluffy. Better than most Disney sequels but some of the songs felt a bit forced. Today is supposed to be a get organized day, and due to switched up meal plans yesterday I made a puff pastry apple tart thing. Yum!

SO with the discussion on care & feeding of brushes, & I do love my brushes, I decided to spring for some Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer. While I was placing my order the thought of the polymer clay mushrooms I watched being crafted on YouTube came, unbidden to mind. Ergo a couple of blocks of Sculpey, some sculpting picks, AND an Amaco Polymer Clay & Craft Oven rounded out the order: It was a Martha Stewart moment.

Enjoy the movie, feel better soon. A hot shower will make you feel just as good. Epsom salts only help if you are low on magnesium, which most people aren't, and in which case there are plenty of foods you can eat to help.

I married a woman that enjoys Black Friday shopping. Sadly, we did not manage to make a kill, so went home and bought online instead. Megan now has a computer coming! She decided against the laptop, and went for a refurbished Dell desktop instead. It will need a bigger drive for data, and could use a better graphics card - but unlike a laptop these are things that can be added later, along with a DVD R/W, since it comes with just a DVD reader. Which means I can start looking to replace my old computer next year or so. The Auld Grump - I didn't use the computer yesterday at all, I don't think. Black Friday kicked our butts at work. Why does that sound familiar? Serious question - it sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it. The Auld Grump

I can see now today is going to be one of those "interesting days". When I first woke up I thought it was 1999, then once I got that sorted out, thought it was 5pm on Friday, instead of 5am on Saturday.

My family doctor is a firm believer in going for the light approach when possible. Usually he isn't one for drugs, but in this case I can see why the recommendation is as is - if it's anything more than a seriously tensed up muscle (something that's rather common for someone in my profession, ESPECIALLY the shoulders due to all the twisting and lifting delivery drivers do) we'll know in a week.

So we had a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving this year. The boss was sick and running a mild fever so we stayed home. More acuratetly she stayed home; I got to drive 3 hours round trip to the in-laws to deliver the victuals we had promised. Anyway, neither of us was very hungry so we had popcorn for lunch and then peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner. And I got to play video games and paint while she slept. I'll take it.

Reaper clears are nothing like GW Shades. The GW shades are washes designed to darken the paint below, and are a mix of pigment and extra acrylic medium. They are very transparent and a bit glossy, not very pigment rich and tend to be desaturated colors. Reaper clears are very pigment rich and have a more typical amount of medium for paint. They are not as transparent and work well as glazes, and can be mixed with other paints to change the hue. They are very saturated colors. You could think of the GW shades as you would a pair of sunglasses, and the Reaper clears as those "secret decoder" clear red glasses you might have played with as a kid.

Oh, hey! She is now! I decided on a refurbished Dell mini tower. Less than $350. Going to let Grump look at it before finalizing, but a lot better than a laptop at the same price. I will ask Santa for a graphics card, or maybe wait for my birthday. I will need a bigger drive, 520 GB SSD is big enough for a boot drive, but not much left for software and data. I ate up most of the space on Grump's old laptop already.

Just realized that my computer keyboard's "F" bar, the one molded into the key so your fingers can "home", is completely worn off. I guess I've used this keyboard for a bit of time.

That sounds really good, @Inarah. And curse you, @haldir for mentioning Green Stuff World! (They're having a sale right now, the rest of you should go ahead and go look. There's LOTS of really cool stuff.....You KNOW you want to.....)

Sitting up already? Working on hand/eye coordination? How long until you have her painting figures? Broccoli (the green stuff) didn't make it onto plates last night so I'm turning it into broccoli cheddar soup for this evening. Some bacon and toasted popover croutons ought to finish it perfectly.

He gets it actually from his mom, who is the Cornhuskers fan (why she is I have no idea, all I know it was fun beating her team when we went to Eugene a couple of years ago, ). He's not the most emotional fan either so I have no idea if they are winning or losing when a game is on, unless I can hear the tv. Thou, if they do get that win & become bowl eligible at least it'll give him something to watch that he's cares about in bowl season. BB's deal have been going on for quite awhile now, at least a week. Where I ordered my Chromebook from & the price for it was one of the reasons (well that & it had the specs I wanted).

This morning I was wondering what was going on with my body. At 11am I had been awake for 26 hours straight and I was barely yawning. I just didn't really feel tired at all. And I'd only had about 5 hours of sleep the night before, which I also had to semi-force my body into taking. So I decided to force myself to at least get a nap in by shutting off everything and just staring at a ceiling until I passed out. Well, I'm no longer concerned much. Once I'd shut off all the lights and turned off the TV, I basically went dead when I touched my pillow. I slept through the two alarms I'd set for the nap, just completely and utterly ignoring them, and didn't wake up until I'd gotten 6 hours in. Still not a lot, but it's something and I didn't have to struggle for it. Being sick earlier this week really trashed a lot of my rhythms, on top of my plans. But if it made it so I can pull off 24+ hour days on 4-6 hours of sleep and only small amounts of caffeine again, like I could do in high school, then I'll accept it. I just have a feeling this is going to be an extremely temporary state of affairs.

Khatt played slow motion tag. Sitting in a corner as BD crawl--stalked him, waiting until she was ALMOST there, then moving to another corner. He was AMAZINGLY patient and forgiving with her! Now she is learning the fine art of petting, so he has earned his reward. That is so very hard to do at Green Stuff World. Sarcasm. Grabbing and freezing spme of the leftover turkey, before Grump turns it ALL into Thanksgiving Leftover Curry. I learned that the hard way. He will curry ANYTHING!

Weds night at the FLGS was beneficial to everyone there. A guy that was playing SW:Armada brought a giant platter of homemade cookies. He said his wife made a huge batch for him & his co-workers. 7 people normally but only 3 people was there due to the holiday, so he brought the rest there. Good stuff!! Hmmm, thinking about swapping out one of my 5e AL nights for Ebberon AL now that the Ebberon book is out. Well first I need to pick up that book but currently I have the Guidebook that came out earlier & they've updated with the new info. Players just need to be familiar with the setting so I need to find something like a primer for them to read up on.

I have to go to work. Again. Is okay. I'm one of like 3 people who didn't take today off preemptively. And I'm bringing cookies for all 3 of us

Cold here but bearable (just went outside with no jacket to feed the squirrels). Suppose to snow sometime today. We shall see. My son is just waiting for his college football team to play (Nebraska, wth? ) & about the only thing I'm doing today is going up to the FLGS to pick up a order & buy new Wizkids Unpainted figures. My interest in the game is a bit more now that we have a FLGS but mainly cause it gives me something to talk about with one of the employees. He finished like 17th at a major MTG tourney held in Vegas earlier this year.

It's quiet, cold, and not raining anymore. Contemplating a run up to the nearest grocer for a couple of their advertised 10oz strip steaks. That would be a nice change from turkey on Saturday, it's supposed to get into the 50's and I could do it on the grill, even.

No kidding! We ate at about 6:30. I intend to continue celebrating Thanksgiving today by being thankful for what I have and not going out to fight anybody over some half-priced junk that I honestly don't need anyway. I'm glad to hear that everyone had a good day yesterday.

I haven't played magic since the late 90s, and I still find random cards in the back of drawers and closets at my parents' house.

The Thanksgiving Day festivities have finally drawn to a close. A good 40 pounds of food were consumed or left the house in the form of leftover plates. And who knows how many pots of coffee, pitchers of tea, and random drinks were consumed (I know someone gave me a couple of fingers of scotch at one point, but I forgot to ask what it was before they left). The dogs even got their own designated treat plate of carrots and apple slices that everyone took turns commandeering whenever they wanted canine attention. Many members of the family got to see each other for the first time since last year. And we got to meet a potential new family member in the form of someone's boyfriend (a very quiet young man who brought a big batch of homemade fry bread to share, so I liked him). Those staying late pitched in to clean up and as far as I can tell practically every dish in the house is washed. The last house guest just bedded down for the night a few minutes ago. And now I'm going to quietly creep up to the attic to do a little painting. Hope everyone had a great holiday here in the states, and that everyone else had a fantastic Thursday.

Started on these a while ago, and they didn't need much touching up so they're my first victories on the Thanksgiving Challenge. I'm keeping the bases simple as eventually I'll be doing a full Middenheimer warband for Mordheim. The wolf cloaks match fairly well with the Middenheimer champion I already have. He seems to be enjoying the company of his new friends.

1/Greek Odyssey - Top of the list because of the Cloud Giant, Cyclops, and Hydra. 2/Dark Depths - Rated this high because of the Sea Giant. Several of the sea creatures look fun to paint. 3/Brinewood - Lots of npc’s to set a scene. 4/Fan Favourites - It’s quirky. Almost too Quirky, but I think there’s enough of interest to make it worthwhile. 5/Dungeon Dwellers - No big standouts for me. Not a set I need, but some nice sculpts make it tempting. 6/Chronoscope - On the fence on this one. Like the trailer and a handful of the minis. 7/Daiymo - Just not my thing. Doesn’t capture my imagination.

After thinking upon it....I'm in. Assuming of course that the Undead Turkey Spirits of Thanksgiving Eve don't devour me on my upcoming gas station run. But seeing as how most of what's on my Shelf of Incompleteion is from last year's attempt, might as well see if I can finish them this year. Witches, Witch Hunters Wiz Kids minis and Mousings all around 90% completion. Witch Hunter reinforcements that have a ways to go. Barely begun Witch Hunters and Christmas Pirates. More Mouslings barely begun. Unit of Coffee Dwarves that I doubt I'll finish, but I might be able make some head way on. Now to brave the Darkness and the Poultry...

I think I managed to knock out 150+ terrain bits, mostly from Johnny Lauck's Dungeon Decor, and Itar's Workshop. Also got some Reaper Graveyard KS done. Second pic has some Malice RPG Treasures I painted last year. Last pic includes mimics from Galladoria Games that I also painted before. Just realized I didn't take a pic of 25 skulls from Itar's Workshop, and the first pic cropped out some bits. Whatever. Game tiles are from Galladoria Game's Crown and Laurel Tavern. Battlemat is Loke Battlemat's Slaughterfields. If it's brown, I used Army Painter brown Soft Tone ink wash on it. If it's ochre, I used Army Painter Skeleton Bone. I'm done with the bits, since I have a Galladoria Games Chrismas mimic to work on (see the WIP forum). Keep painting! It certainly wasn't the way I planned to do things but 40 more guardsmen have their khaki basecoat. So I guess instead of doing small batches I'll paint a 45 figure batch. Next session I'll tackle their green armor.

Broccoli. I may have misunderestimated the number of zombies in that box. It’s a lot of zombies. I killed most of a rattle can of Wraith Bone and I think a filter for my little airbrushing box. Also, do I count as a mini? I’m prepped and primed already. I’m probably not going to try to do all of these. I might alternate a skewer or zombies with a handful of something else and see how far I get. It’s possible I’ll end up only painting 1 zombie all weekend too. I did fill out my contrast paints collection with 8 new ones I picked up at my flgs though. I also have all but 4 of the WoK starter set prepped and based. They’re so cool I may choose not to binge paint them though! I’m hoping to get the rest of them done tomorrow along with priming a few more bones, then on Wednesday I might spend some time noting down some color schemes
