  1. I've been painting up the Stygian Barge lately and decided that since I was already painting lots of wood colors, I'd go ahead and do some other figures that shared a similar scheme. First up is the raft from the Dreadmere expansion of the last kickstarter and a barrel of fish that I think may have been part of another mini painted last year. Next is the Dreadmere Fishing Boat. It's not very big, I doubt I'll get more than one based mini in it at a time. But it's a wonderful little sculpt. I'd be happy with a boat like this in real life.

  3. Lots of stuff was in the Bones 5 Live update stream last week, but I didn't get around to watching it until today. First, a bonus doxie for Brinewind. An "elven asian-themed" doxie. They didn't say it, but I think they were going for a hint of a geisha look. She is molded to fit on the bed. Here is the finished render of the Buglips the Goblin from Fan Favorites. His scale has been upped a touch to allow for all the details (he is 22.5 mm tall). They showed a 3D print of the Dragon-Wolf from the Core Set (extras can

  4. Not yet up to running Pathfinder since surgery. Had people over to paint minis, eat food, and just socialize instead. Was good, I needed that. I have been told I need to tell the story of the last session. For Reasons Spoilered for length and spiders. I have never before in 12 years had my players cheer so hard for a success. Like, actual cheering.

  7. No, because what happens is that I get up in the morning with a big day planned but it takes me an hour to wake up and so if I have a streaming service then I'll try to find something to watch but then I can't find anything to watch so I just get fed up and pick the first thing to come to mind and the next thing I know it's been three days I'm covered in cheeto dust and swimming in Dr. Pepper cans and I've just marathoned 5 seasons of Sailor Moon for no reason and I don't even like Sailor Moon that much. So now I just look out the window to watch the birds and backyard bunny. It

But I made her arms and legs fade into a charcoal blue/black. Below is a link to the image, which apparently contains nudity...? I mean, she doesn't have nipples or anything, and is kinda' designed like a barbie doll, but.. Nudity? You have been "warned"..? Tree Spirit

  12. Over the last few months I've been getting emails saying there is a problem with my Netflix and I need to click on the link to give them my updated credit card info. Yet Netflix continues to work and take my $11/month. For some reason I just don't feel like replying to emails from an address like this [email protected] to give them my money.

  13. I woke up an hour before my alarm today, so I guess that makes it fairly easily. One tip I've heard of but don't practice myself is to plan ahead. While most people feel a full hour change, the average body can do a 15 minute adjustment fairly easily. So four days before the time change go to bed and set your alarm 15 minutes earlier. The next day another 15 minutes, then another, then another (spring forward/travel one time zone). On Monday you'll barely notice there was a change. For big adjustments (at one time I worked 12 hour swing) I found staying up as late a

  14. I have almost always worked Sundays, so I'm pretty consistently impacted by it. Mostly, I just suffer through it. Try to go to bed early the night before, maybe. Try and have a larger than normal breakfast that day so I have some more energy... Of course, last night, I didn't get to bed until after midnight and I had to get up at 6, so I got less than 5 hours of sleep. I'm feeling more awake than I really should, TBH...

  15. I found a bunch of "plastic dinosaurs" (and mammals, etc) - and decided to repaint them. One of them is an Arsinoitherium. I figured it should be "grey", so... I learned a little how to paint in just grey-scale? All in all, I think I did pretty good accenting the textures of his skin.

  16. I was so tired on Saturday that I legitimately forgot about this. Which meant that on Sunday I missed choir practice, for a song I'd only practiced once, which the choir performed in church that morning. Ah well, at least I'm decent sight-reader with a good memory for music. Tangentially related: the sun is being aggressively sunny today. It really should consider taking a nap, it's got to be exhausted, what with being all 'shining in one's eyes way too early in the morning' and whatnot. Huzzah! --OneBoot :D

  23. Showed this to the wife. She burst out laughing and said it's smaller than our model in the basement (her mother). I replied that ours is a 2 in 1 model, does dishes too. Sad to pick on an 80 year old but some days we can't use the kitchen at all because she's standing there for many, many hours theoretically doing something. Me and the boys have been trying to work around her to prep for supper and desert.

  28. Unfortunately the area to the right of the path used to extend at least another three metres and had mature trees holding the bank together. The area floods every year( and has done for decades) but that particular spot is at a bend in the river, hence the faster water hits at exactly the right angle to erode the bank. The area to the left of the path, just beyond the trees, is wetland. It floods every year, but this time it's been particularly bad with 4 storms in a month. Another problem is that particular spot is about 3 miles away from any sizable roads, so it's not very easy

  29. I always love watching kingfishers. Wonderful birds! As for that bank erosion... I'm about to leave for a four day conference on how to design around streams to prevent just that. Should be quite interesting, but I'm betting that it's mostly going to be a lot of "plant trees next to the stream, impervious surfaces suck, build more wetlands to retain flood water."

  30. Yes. Yes they are. DC streaming, Disney+, HBO streaming, CBS All Access... I'm not paying CBS a bunch of money just so we can watch Picard. At least Disney + has all those Disney movies and stuff that might be fun, but we're barely getting through the things we want to watch on Netflix, let alone another service added in.

  32. Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+ we pay for. Amazon streaming, or whatever it's called, is included with our Prime membership. Honestly I don't watch a lot of stuff, it's mostly my wife who takes advantage of these services. She's talked about getting rid of Hulu, but apparently they stream a lot of stuff the day after it airs on cable, which is appealing to her. Of the other 2 I'd say she probably watches Netflix the most, but that could change if Disney ever releases all the Marvel shows they keep going on about. On a related note: does anyone think all the different streaming options

  33. Yes. Netflix is our preferred option, while my son loves watching Minecraft videos on Amazon...

  34. THIS! We work in a library, having things organized is kind of our thing. Prime is a nightmare, I don't even open it if she's watching. For Netflix, we each have a login and we also have a mutual login for stuff to watch together. It eases the pain nicely.

  35. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney from the paid services. Of those, Netflix gets used the most often. ETA: I wasn't thinking of my cable streaming, but I do that regularly as well.

  36. We have Amazon and Netflix. DIsney+ goes live in the UK near the end of this month and we're planning to subscribe to it for at least a few months, possibly for longer if the new content is up to scratch. Netflix is probably my favorite, mostly due to the fact we can log on separately. My taste in films leans heavily towards horror and my housemate is more into anime and comedies, so it's nice to have our different sections in Netflixland. Our watch list on Amazon is, quite frankly, a total mess- terrible monster films sit next to cheery comedies and Bob Ross, with a side helping o

  38. I always thought I'd be hooked on Netflix, as I had it included in my lease at my last apartment, but I'm not. I just don't watch that much TV anymore. Technically, I do have Amazon Prime Video through my regular Amazon Prime subscription, which also grants me access to Twitch (and the Reaper streams). But again, I hardly watch any show on it, even though I know it hosts a ton of award winning quality shows itself. My true poison is basic YouTube. There are enough quality science/education channels to keep me satisfied (and tons of crap). And I can easily stream it to m

  41. I don’t adjust very quickly. Business sometimes takes me two or three hours’ worth of time zones west. What I usually end up doing is just keeping my base time schedule, which means I have painting time at 0400 local, and am no fun at dinner...

  42. For daylight savings time I just suffer through about a week of feeling sleepy before I eventually adjust. So nothing helpful there. But for jet lag I usually deprive myself of caffeine for about 3 days prior to travelling. Then when I get where I'm going I start drinking coffee again at the beginning of whatever local morning is. That usually gets me through it pretty quick.

  43. Time Changes from daylight savings dont bother me. My sleep schedule has a as much variety day to day. Sleeping 10pm-5am is normal, but +/- and hour happens regularly (6 to 9 hrs of sleep) the 9 is catchup if I got a couple of nights less than 7. My parents and inlaws are each one timezone away in opposite directions, and their schedules are nothing like mine even if they were in the same city. Traveling a long way is another story. If I'm 4+ hours off, then its a problem at least for that day. But in a day or two I have a new pattern.

  45. Uh, take my melatonin an hour earlier? I’m fortunate in that I work at a place that isn’t strict at start/end times, as long as we work our full shift. I’m usually up at 4:30 and first or second in the office at 6:30, so a few days of working later won’t be so noticed.
