  1. This Bombshell Miniatures' 75mm resin Tara purchased at last year's ReaperCon. She's actually a skosh over 80mm. She's also listed as 1/24th scale, which puts her a tad over six feet. The kit is four pieces - body/legs/upper arms/head, lower arms incorporating a head and sword, and a small rocky base. The body is well toned with noticeable muscle definition. My example had a large resin blob hanging down betwixt her legs (the one time I don't check a figure for issues/parts). Anywho, Dremel to the rescue. I routed out the blob and reshaped her thighs. Since her skirt is very short, I painted

  6. This figure sat around in my drawer for a long time. I only bought it because my wife liked it and I was uninspired to paint it. I decided to do it just to get it out of the way but then I got into it and it became pretty fun trying to do a variety of tattoos. I thought about doing PIG IRON in classic calligraphy font but settled for PCE (Pork Chop Express) on the rear cheek. The red arrows on the shoulders was something I got from a Robert Crais book, just like the meaning of them. It says LIV on his right hand and DIE on his left. Thanks for looking, lots of pics.

  7. The Left Hand of Darkness here is from the Bones 3 Stoneskull expansion. I painted this one at the same time as the Bones 4 female devil, as they make a fine pair. Speaking of fine pairs, you will need to click the links to see, as the titilation offered by a shapely two inch piece of plastic might be harmful to minors. Full Frontal More Full Frontal Even More Full Frontal The Left The Other Left A slight Angela from Spawn vibe going here. Not sure what about this mini that makes me think of that character.

  8. I dropped in to our local Trader Joe’s Friday morning at opening and it was packed. Lines all the way up the aisles to the back. I was just there to get eggs, fruits & vegetables, but we really needed them since college kid is coming back for spring break. It took 45 minutes, which is beginning to sound like it wasn’t too bad. Yeah, we’re also on a road trip to pick up said college kid. Which means we are way far from home in a hotel in a strange and strangely quiet city, where half the people are wearing gloves and wiping down everything and the other half are eating, drinking

The skin is done in Citadel Bugmans Glow drybrushed onto a black undercoat, followed by a drybrush of Citadel Cadian Fleshtone and Scalecolor Basic Flesh. I put a glaze of thinned Citadel Druuchi Violet shade on the underside and in the shadows. Suitably large compared to humans. That rock will make a paste of whomever it hits. The bank I work at is considering closing down the lobby area and doing drive through service only. So we are relaxing today here and fighting with a robin who is determined to build a nest under our gazebo. Not gonna do Starfinder tomorrow, my fellow players have enough brains to stay home if they think they had been exposed, some of the other groups who play there have sounded like Nurgle Unanimous meetings.

  21. So earlier this week my wife and I were invited to take part in a workshop/conference thing on stream stabilization and design. It was much better than I thought it would be and was led by a semi retired engineer from the Army Corps who spent his entire career stopping stream degradation, repairing it, and returning it back to pre impact conditions. He was great fun. Imagine an high energy, old, body builder with a Yosemite Sam mustache and a Foghorn Leghorn accent. Squash him down to about 5'4" and put him in chest waders. 24. Panic buying isn't helpful. Small preparations are - enough so that instead of hitting the grocery store every few days, you can go every week or two. So yes, some folks are over-reacting on that front, but a bit of preparation is good. It is annoying and frustrating, but the measures being put in place are the ones that will prevent hospitals from being overrun. It isn't as much about stopping people from getting sick right now - it is about controlling WHEN people get sick. Slow it down, because otherwise everywhere will be like Italy and Iran which have overflowing hospitals and they can't
    10 points
  25. Yup, the whole thing starts up again. However, assuming that the slow-down was successful in nipping cases of COVID in the bud then there are fewer cases to continue the spread and we're used to some basic procedures to slow the spread. In theory, the people who had low-level exposures are now immune or resistant so the virus can't backtrack through them. It's a whole three steps forward, one step back, thing. The next time the virus starts to ramp up, we'll face more of the same, but there will be fewer closures (it's a natural human reaction, I guess), and we'll go through it
    10 points
  26. Well the basic theory I heard is that we aren't trying to completely stop the spread of COVID because that's likely impossible. They just want to slow it down so that hospitals aren't overwhelmed at a massive peak. Taking all the potential cases and spreading them over a 2-3 month period instead of a 2-3 week period. We always keep a decent supply of food ahead other than fresh veggies and a bit of meat just because we buy bulk a lot of the time. A week ago when we were in the city they hoarding hadn't started here yet. Now the cities are getting low on things but the local small

The building they work in is also used for senior gatherings, those were shut down indefinately and the building fully deep cleaned yesterday, so at least some actions are being taken. The bus service has been stepping up efforts to keep the buses as sanitary as they can and the drivers are taking events seriously. You're not alone in that. Nope, since pumpkin orange isn't a fabric colour choice, but I'm still rather happy about it, because boy do I like this chair. Since a state of emergency was declared, apparently there's a thing (she called it a grant) that will make it so all of the lost time won't need to be made up, only some of it. 35. In the Bones 4 Core set there were some "pillar tops". Six each of five different styles. These were a bit strange, as they were obviosly designed to fit into *something*, but nothing that they even remotely might fit in was included in the Bones 4 KS. Or elsewhere in the Reaper lineup as far as I know. I was not the only one that found this a bit strange, and luckily one of these others was Curufin, who designs stuff on Thingiverse. He has posted some pillars that fit said tops, and here I have used one of these designs. I printed out the four different, and quickly decided that t

Gives you information on what to look for to try and interrupt transmission earlier in an outbreak if something similar happens again. also helps you find out if it really did come from bat, and then check to see if there's similar diseases in the same animal that are likely to hit humans, so you can start working on the virus before it hits us.
