  1. My entry for the Reaper Challenge League Q2 diorama: The minis are: Reaper Bones Black 44044 Dark Watcher as Pac Man Reaper Metal 03920 Shadowgaunt as Pinky Midlam Miniatures’ metal “Ghosts of Midlam Manor” x 3 as Inky, Blinky, and Clyde -the latter pair in edible mode. and 3D printed walls designed by Printable Scenery White balls are expanded polystyrene, plucked from some packing material. The Black gravel is …black gravel. This is an idea I have had for a scene or diorama for ages, a Beholder stuck in a dungeon getting really bored, chasing the other denizens aroun

  2. This dragon from the board game Dragonstrike has his charm in its awkward pose with its left arm raised and its tail passing between its legs and laid over its left foot. Too bad he's so fudgesicle-ing fragile! It's supposed to have one more horn closer to the nose, that was broken before I even got the piece (indeed it was broken in the pic the person I bought it from had). One of the wings is a separate piece that pegs in. The pegs broke in storage, I had to shave that all off and rely on glue alone. I painted him purple because I asked for color ideas with my D&D group and the one

  3. I spent a pleasant day yesterday visiting my younger son. We poked around used book stores, and had a visit with his gaming (mostly Magic) friends whom i have not met previously. I finished up the second of my experimental fantasy settlement maps today, with color from watercolor pencils, mostly… I’m starting to think I might actually get an original D&D game on the table this year, and maps will be a nice addition.

Sunday stroll through history for June 13th: 313 – The decisions of the Edict of Milan, signed by Constantine the Great and co-emperor Valerius Licinius, granting religious freedom throughout the Roman Empire, were published in Nicomedia. 1967 – U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson nominated Solicitor-General Thurgood Marshall to become the first black justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. 2010 – A capsule of the Japanese spacecraft Hayabusa, containing particles of the asteroid 25143 Itokawa, returned to Earth.

  9. Well, there are lots of OOP minis that I am very fond of, but if I had to single out just one I think it would be the catoblepas from Ral Partha's AD&D series:

  10. Inspired by Dickens, we tried Christmas goose once; as far as I can tell, geese have so much fat that they are practically self frying. Yes. I can shift my sleep schedule, but it usually takes about a week, so a weekend isn’t time to adjust. Too many pictures. By most people’s standards, most of my minis are out of date. Probably more than half of my fantasy collection is from before 1985, and I’m actively acquiring vintage minis for reinforcements. I’ll post this little group of Minifigs Mythical Earth figures from ~1974, though, a

  17. Yes, absolutely. Being frustrated with the situation is entirely reasonable and, as you duly point out, there is a difference between having said frustration and taking things outside of Reaper's control out on employees or representatives. So long as people are being reasonable enough, you are not required to wear a smiley face at all times. Happiness is certainly the desired goal, but we don't impose it as a mandatory condition.

  20. Considering I think AU region was dead last for Bones IV, I don't mind them going first this time around. It's the way things work these days. With the way delivery works these days. I think some people think they should be first/early all the time (Amazon Prime shipping, for ex). I for one could care less when I get my shipment. I've said it in previous Bones KSes, if it makes a disgruntled "fan" happy, ship theirs instead of mine first. I'll live.

  21. Honestly, from the sounds of it, Australia deserves a "1st!" in regards to shipping. I hope it gets to you guys as soon as possible, even if it vexes others. Let the others suck a Goremaw if they don't like it. :)

  22. It has been a long time since I have done terrain. After completing Gloomholde years ago, I had no space for it and ended up selling it. Decided about a year ago to start over, and start with a big cathedral. She is almost ready to paint and finish off! Just gotta put windows in first. Entirely carved from foam with cardstock roofing shingles.

  24. I'm not that big on old minis (except the old Games Workshop Chaos Champions, they were cool). Expanding to newer, OOP minis it's a shame the Guild Ball range got canned, lots of characterful stuff in there:-

  25. A particular one doesn't necessarily come to mind, although I could playfully say Dragons Don't Share 2.... What I really want to get is that Dream Pod 9 Kodiak, but wowee those are expensive, and I want one with a VHAC (Very Heavy Autocannon) instead of the particle cannon... I honestly can't think of a mini that I have that I'm particularly fond of yet is out of production, since I haven't really collected all that many older ones... If you didn't know, ThunderheadStudio has been steadily redoing a lot of the Dougram ones and has been posting them on

  26. Not really? I have a few lying about, some of them are even painted! but.. they are minis, and I like them as much as my more recent acquisitions. This may change, of course; I just haven't stumbled over anything that triggered the *chirp!* yet.

  27. Yes, many of them. The old Grenadier boxed set 'Orcs of the Severed Hand' is pretty near and dear to me as it's the first set of miniatures I ever got. Yes, I still have them.

  29. I'm ok with hubs shipping as they are ready. I'm not in a race. I'm Wave 3. I was in early and should have made Wave 1, but KS was having credit card processing issues and delayed me. A petty part of me is angry about missing Wave 1. The minis will arrive when they arrive. I'll follow their tracking anxiously, but I'm not concerned about other backers getting their stuff first. It's not like I don't have a table full of minis being painted and a considerable backlog of stuff. The thing I'm looking for most is 9328 black indigo.

  30. Hmm, I don't know if there are any specific OOP models that I enjoy, or even any current models that I have preference over others. But like @Corsair's example, if I'm to play BTech, it's nice to have the correct representation of your mech.

Sadly that bunny got hit by a car before we really got to know her/him. Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Every little bit helps right now.

  35. USA Hub: We're still waiting on our last two containers to arrive at our warehouse. The good news is that one of them is in the DFW area and is awaiting CBP and CPSC inspection. As soon as that's done, we could have the container here at any time. Please note that we have had inspections take one day, and we've had inspections take 3 weeks. We are hoping that it will be days rather than weeks. Our second container is still in Long Beach and has not been sent by rail to DFW yet. We will continue to monitor and keep everyone informed of the status. UK Hub: Both containers are in t

  38. Road trip tomorrow. Just had the car serviced, it's been sitting for over a year. Battery is good, fluids all topped off, new wipers (not that we'll have rain), tires checked out. Gas tank full. Snacks packed, water bottles and thermos ready to fill in the morning. Personal kit packed: wipes, tissue, analgesics, etc. Backup CC and emergency cash on hand. Phone and devices charging. Did I forget anything?

  43. I was kind of leaving it vague to give room for people to interpret how they want. But I had been thinking somewhere along the lines of "out of print", or from a dead game, or has been directly replaced by a newer sculpt. I had been thinking about it because I had been painting an old syntha mini from void. And while it's a bit dated looking I still like it.

  47. I highly doubt Reaper would hold back on shipping from different hubs just because some people got angry they weren't first before. At best it would just be a different group of disgruntled people, as they would be angry Reaper was holding stuff back when they could ship. The latest update also indicates that the different hubs will start fulfillment as soon as they're ready to do so anyway. 😄 Personally, I couldn't care less whether someone else got their stuff before me, as long as I know I will get my order within a reasonable timeframe. Only one person will be first, everyone e

  49. Based on past experiences I've had with Aetherworks, unfortunately I can see them sitting on something for months. The oddity is that they haven't posted it to their farcebook as being in the queue when they supposedly have all the containers. There is the possibility that they haven't posted it to the queue as they are processing it as part of their normal distribution agreement with Reaper rather than as part of their kickstarter queue...but I wouldn't rely on that. [further comments redacted] I'm pretty sure the AU region was dead last (except for stragglers) in every ki
