  1. I'm back! We currently have some 400 feet plus of RG-58 laying on the ground before it goes up the utility pole to junction with Spectrum's FO Line, but even though the recommended max run for this cable is 250 feet it seems to be working OK for our humble needs. They tell me our service comes out of the Reno Hub instead of the Carson City Hub. At a guess, since we are over the hill from the mega industrial park where Musk has built his OMG how huge battery factory, we are on the same spine as the entire Industrial Park Complex. Our furniture and SWMBO precious things are all here.

Tuesday Timeline Trivia for June 22nd: 1633 – The Holy Office in Rome forced Galileo Galilei to recant his view that the Sun, not the Earth, is the center of the Universe, after heated controversy. 1969 – The Cuyahoga River caught fire in Cleveland, Ohio, drawing national attention to water pollution, which spurred the passing of the Clean Water Act and the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency. 1990 – Cold War: Checkpoint Charlie was dismantled in Berlin.

  7. Iridil asked for some group shots of the raiding parties. Note some of the drow in the last pic I've just finished (thus the pic) but havn't gotten around to posting yet.

  8. Having used some of the newer battery powered chainsaws.... I see no shame here. Some of the electrics Stihl and Echo are putting out now have just as much bite as a similarity sized gas guzzler, with much lower maintenance costs and zero emissions in use. So you finish up smelling like sweat and sawdust and skip the petrol exhaust.

  12. Still haven't had a chance to finish those eyes as the weekend was pretty busy. I did however go ahead and finish all the previous models sealing, flocking, and taking final pictures of them. It may not be the progress I wanted but it is progress.

  14. Tired of flocked trees shedding? Do not want to spend as much as Dwarven Forge trees cost? Try Toyvian trees like these ones I found on Amazon. I just finished the 2 medium sized ones, completing my set of 3 small, 2 medium and 1 large. https://thegrumpygnome.home.blog/2021/06/21/more-treestoy-trees-toyvian-trees/ They require a bit of work but I think they get the job done. More photos on my blog. And this older blog post talks about how I take them from factory fresh to battlefield ready with weighting the base, repositioning the li

  16. A long time ago, my character found a rapier that seem to pierce his enemies way too easily. Turns out it was a theater prop sword that sprung back into the hilt on each hit. Here are some new creations: The Weapon of Howie Wilhelm: when this weapon successfully hits a foe, it emits the sound of the target being mortally wounded. It gives a free intimidation check against surrounding enemies. It is *not* a quiet weapon. The Mace of Lou: This spikey mace has tufts of fur, which become wet on use. When a target is hit, it is sprayed with a foul liquid that causes the targ

  17. Not completely. This year "Prime Day" is two days long. Still running today. I'm seeing a couple of tempting deals, like Marvel Crisis Protocol and a Synology Mesh WiFi extender for my router.

  18. June 22 I like to leave joke weapons scattered around dungeons, got any suggestions for good ones? Can be any setting any type. well it didn't start out as a joke, exactly. In a campaign where the world was threatened by the far realm the PCs quested for a weapon to fight them. The Sword of Normality: +2 far realm Bane. with medium/low intelligence and only empathic communication. - it could also detect far realm creatures withnin 60' - it would alert the wielder by making them suddenly acutely aware of natural background sounds. it looked like

  20. Kinda hoping to be able to paint again soon. Place has been ripped apart for a few days now to work out a bunch of things. It will be better once we get it all back together again, but not gonna lie, I am tired of rearranging things...

  21. Acquired yesterday: Tidal lurker x2!! Quick shipping from a game store in Berkley, California. (Anyone need any, they had like 8 in stock IIRC) Seems odd to see em in retail packaging.

  22. I don't know about minis, I do have too many GW LoTR dudes. But paint, oh I'm guilty of buying colours I already have all the time. I finally decided instead of buying little bottles of P3 Rucksack tan all the time for the Egyptians' bases, I would have a gallon mixed. Does anyone know how far a gallon of paint goes on miniature bases?!

  23. It's taken hold in parts of my state, and sadly, we now lead the nation in numbers of new cases. If only there was a way to slow it down and prevent people from getting sick.

  24. First of all, this is such an awesome figure! So many details that it took me a bit longer than usual. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed every minute I got working on this guy 🙂 As before, I'm looking for ways to improve so please throw in all your critiques and suggestions. ~Z

  28. Meh. Amazon not bringing the book deals for Prime Day. Buy 2, get 1 half-off? Nope. Not gonna cut it. Still, I managed to shame myself by purchasing a battery-powered chainsaw, however. If anyone knows to whom I should submit the last of the dignity I previously had maintained, please let me know. 😞 (I also bought DVDs of The Office and Parks and Rec because up yours, Peacock!)

  35. Tonight's progress: Some black on the talons, in the mouth, in the nostrils, and on the eyes. I've gone over the scutes with Rainy Grey, and used some RG on the crest as well. The inside of the mouth will be visited with Dark Elf Skintones in the near future. The talons will probably receive some Nightmare Black for some "highlights." The spinal ridge has been hit with the Deep Ocean. It's a little uneven, but that's semi-on-purpose. The ridge reminds me more of hair than some sort of scales, so if it's uneven, I figure that's more in keeping wit

  40. I do believe today was suppose to be the day the gov'ner was suppose to lift all covid19 restrictions in the state. We didn't hit the number she set due to the massive drop in vaccinations given. Pretty sure this side of the state contributed to not making the goal as well. She did say, even if counties didn't make the number, they would be lifted along with rest of the state. When she announced the news, I knew we weren't going to make the number she had set (70% for at least 1 shot, I think). Tbh, the restrictions don't really matter to me at this point, about the only place I'm

  41. Yes 😑 Constantly 😑 All my projects are partially finished 😑 It seems to be dominated by a few families that have been here for a couple generations. If you piss those people off you might as well just leave town. Draconic style kobolds. Hit it with a frying pan. I give it to my husband to make the wishes. DM that he is, he’s clever enough to make a wish that won’t get him turned into a fish.

  44. Past couple weeks have been rough. A baby coughed on me and gave me something that won’t go away. Starting to feel better, which is nice seeing as how I missed a full 40 hours on my paycheck 😑 Anyhoo. My little monster is growing apace. I got her Moana bedding, since she’s obsessed with Moana. Hopefully that helps get he sleeping in her own bed. And we’re going to start potty training her once I can read the book I got on the subject. Here she is playing with her tablet: Time to get Spooky!!

  45. This is a Sandra Garrity sculpt. I picked her up since I genuinely liked the noble woman look (it being so hard to find characters that look like that without being either armored, strangely costumed, or both). A friend suggested doing her as an ice mage and the whole color scheme came together from there. She ended up having kind of a Disney, fairy godmother look. That's fine though. If you're going to steal, steal something good.

  46. This one has been on the desk for a long time. I really like the sculpt, but the cast is a pain as I find most of the older human sized Bones models. The Face was atrocious. Luckily he has a big hat. The photos are washed out but give a good idea of how he looks. He is too shiny for my tastes as the newer Testors Dullcote doesn’t seem to work as good as it used to. Unsure how I ended up going from a coal black duster to green, other than I had too much green paint out for the Marines I was trying to get off the shelf of shame. One down and thousands to go! 😀

  47. I got my 2nd shot on May 28, so I’m fully vaccinated now. My 2nd shot made me fatigued after a couple days, which the first didn’t do. Of course, that doesn’t stop other viruses from getting me. Dang babies coughing on me.

  48. It's an added feature. :) My back door is like that too. It is an old steel security door. You have to apply pressure in just the right way to get the lock mechanism to work. No thief or burglar will ever figure it out. (They'll break a window first to get in the house).
