  1. For the ReaperCon MSP Open this year, I painted the master copy of the White Drake I sculpted for Dark Sword (it will be released for sale in 2022). I decided to do him in glacial coloration inspired by a glacier I saw while on a cruise in AK. For the Sculpting story, click here. For the Painting WIP, click here. Oh, and I won a gold medal for him in the Open category. (Bear in mind that that is a 1" base)

  2. Another I base-coated at ReaperCon and then finished when I got home! Played with OSL from the crystal atop the staff. The crystal itself wasn’t the best part of the sculpt and as such, it’s not the best crystal I’ve ever painted.

  3. Goblin set from the last KS. My first project from sprue to table and let me tell you, I was not fond of those small keyholes. The bard was a ton of fun, eventually. And the wizard was pretty enjoyable to paint too.

  4. Back on my PC I can upload the final shot of the mounted knight Lucardus von Kemet. Because he is a famous character in the world of The Dark Eye, I put a sign on his base to give his name clearly to everyone. As a leader of the Undead and user of dark powers I gave him a look similiar to his underlings. He is a desperate man who wields war in the name of his demonic mistress. Painting process is in the wip forum.

  5. The companion unit to the archers presented earlier. The back pumpkin is from a set of doll house decorations, the front two are from the Reaper pumpkin blister. Corn is made by JTT Scenery Products. The shields being large and mostly smooth were conductive to freehanding the pumpkins on.

  6. Your Saturday selections of what happened for September 18th: 1066 – Norwegian king Harald Hardrada landed with Tostig Godwinson at the mouth of the Humber River and began his ill-fated invasion of England, though it would have important ramifications weeks later when the Norman invasion began. 1618 – The twelfth baktun (a period of 144,000 days) in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar began. 1870 – Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone National Park was observed and named by Henry D. Washburn.

  7. Sitting on the table drying some glue right now, he's been a slow and scary one for me, and still have a lot to do. Trying to figure out what I want him to look like is hard, and trying to figure out how to get to that point is even more difficult. And ugh, that side shot. Cleanup on a wash overuse there. Pretty happy with most of the armor plating and the fur so far though, still need to glaze the glued-on bits and finish with his loincloth. Also pleased with the strapping on his armor.

  8. *sigh* Chickens... So, I noticed signs of a fight when I went to lock the chickens up last night. Heck*, thinks I. I have possibly lost a chicken to something. Muttering to myself, because it's usually a hen, I locked up the coop and blundered back indoors. This morning, I blunder out, muttering to myself, and notice that two of my hens are out, suggesting they were not in the coop, when I locked it down last night. Bugger, thinks I, if they're out, and no one else is ... but, one has to be sure, so I go forth and open the coop. Out pops Spangles the Rooster, and one hen. I he

  9. In a few hours we’re going to be going to the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins for carving. There’s just something about pumpkins that makes me really happy. I just love them. And I love that my baby loves them.

  10. "This is Kuroneko. She's really good at catching swans" - from one of my colleagues who had been on a wildlife handling training course with me. She would definitely agree with you! She's back to normal now. Here she is looking neat and tidy after getting a good brushing (I swear that she's 70% flood!) "Roll CHA to ingratiate yourself into the social group" Any of these 4, possibly with the X-wing slightly edging it.

  11. [Sigh] Not anymore due to toxicity levels. But "Eat lead-free!" doesn't have the same impact. I've heard of "Bite the bullet". Is this the gun hobbyist's version of "lick the weasel"?

  12. Weird thing, gaming with the 'rents. The game was supposed to start at 6:30. The game ACTUALLY started at 6:30! Made pot roast. That's traditional gypsy fare, right? Back to the wandering gypsies o, in about fifteen. Chuck for $2.97/lb.

  16. That's a very good article, IMO. As a mod, I keep an eye on all of the Reaper social media platforms, but I mainly concentrate my activities here. Having observed and used Discord for a while now, I agree with the part of the article that says Discord is kinda like a chat room. Very good description, IMO. I can search the forums for a particular subject/topic and get results from years ago. You just can't do that on Discord.

  20. Welcome back, my old nemesis. You have been missed. My aim however is improving 😜 Luck. There will be accidents, of waiting too long, or even just 'I forgot" for a while, but it's going to make life so much easier in so many ways from here on out (and a change of clothes is a lot more portable than a diaper bag)

  25. I took on a last minute job with Elections Canada. They don't have an opening right now, but will pay me for training and to be on standby. The recruiter said people are dropping like flies, so I'll probably have something to do. 12-14 hours, but the pay is decent and it's on my day off. Mad money! The things I won't do to buy more Reaper Miniatures!

  26. When I received this Bones 4 mini with my Kickstarter back in the day, he was headless. Reaper sent me a fresh one as they do. I had an extra beholder eyestalk from the Wizkids beholder, and decided to carve it into the head slot and make an aberration!! I’ll paint the normal one to match, and then he’ll be a nice surprise boss in a future dnd game.

  32. Stopped at the FLGS today to put some cash down on the last Pokemon First Partner Pack as the price of this one has skyrocketed due to what's in it. It was preorder, the owner wouldn't take the cash I wanted to put down on it, but he said he'd hold one back for me. My daughter is the Pokemon fan, but I told her to buy the stuff at the FLGS vs Wallyworld or Gamestop, etc etc. I did pick up the Cosmo Serpent as I'll need a 2nd huge based snake, figured something different to go along with the Nolzur's (or generic Deep Cuts) giant constrictor snake I already have.

  34. Question for September 17th What's your favorite space ship? there ae lots of good ones - im going to pick the ships I would most like to be on. Rocinante -small crew, interesting people, stays mostly intact, frequently at the center of events. good at bringing civilians up to useful crew members. Tardis - I would overdose quickly but a short period as a companion would be mind- blowing. - less about the journey more about the destination. Enterprise - TNG - i dont remember the full numbers. More Danger, but otherwise like a floating pleasure cru

My MIL liked the tattoos, I think. She had a vague response about how she wouldn't get tattoos because it would hurt too bad but nothing bad about them. She did look at my truffula tree tattoo quite a bit so...hope that's a good sign. We'll see what my mom says when I see her. I don't think she dislikes my tattoos but she makes a show of it when I tell her I'm getting a new one. Before yesterday it had be
