  1. This one took a lot more time than i planned. 2.5 nights of work. The killer of it was all the layers with translucent paint. Keeping them thin to not get streaking was difficult. But i did it and it's done. Proud moment for me is the eye. Done!

  3. I did it! I painted up this wonderful guy sent to us in the Ghoulie Bag. Not gonna lie, he was stupid fun to paint, everything from the chiseled physique to the pumpkins on his back to the bone-handled sickle to the bits of pulp drool coming out his mouth. Comments and advice welcome.

  5. While Grump was running his afterschool game last, I went to see the strip show his coworker is in. He was right, he would NOT have been able to get that put of his head. Now it's stuck in MINE She was ALL over the place. Also, she and her girlfriend sound like the Chipmunks.

  6. Let's have a dose of what happened on this date for October 21st: 1600 – Tokugawa Ieyasu defeated the leaders of rival Japanese clans in the Battle of Sekigahara, becoming shōgun of Japan and establishing the Tokugawa shogunate that will rule until Emperor Meiji restores imperial power in 1868. 1854 – Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, and a staff of 38 nurses were sent to the Crimean War. 1983 – The metre (or meter) was defined as the distance light travels in a vacuum in 1/299,792,458 of a second (it was originally defined in 1793 as one ten-millionth of the distance from the equator to the North Pole along a great circle).

  8. LOL. Ok, the proper name for the tool is PLCC Chip Extractor. One can use a bent paperclip for it if they know what they're doing, but I don't trust most of the sites I deal with to know what they're doing.

  11. My bounty from the Rat13 box! That thing was absolutely stuffed to the point where I'm not sure how to repack it. Waiting on my housemate to go through it before I even try. The Ral Partha arcanaloth is by far my favorite from the pile. Can't wait to paint that smug face.

  14. Presenting the Chubby Lamplighter, along with his friends Skinny Lamplighter and Lady Lamplighter (who I haven't painted yet), who are part of the Jedza set from the game Malifaux by Wyrd Games. Despite loving Malifaux figures I stopped buying them because they just look so awful when I paint them up, but after seeing this set being unboxed on Youtube I had to pick them up. Not my best work in general (I think I spent more time reattaching the incredibly fragile dangly bits on his staff than painting him), but much better than I usually manage with the Malifaux range. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

  15. One of these days I am going to learn to stop buying a big bag of Halloween candy at the start of October... because, like always, I've already raided it down to where there's only Milky Ways left in the bag... and I still want candy, so now I have to go get another bag on my next trip to Sam's Club.

  20. Roast and eat them, though it's been a while since I've bought a whole pumpkin.

  21. If we bought pumpkins, I'd probably roast the seeds, and see if I still like them. I haven't had such for almost twenty years now.

  22. No, there is no place to plant the few that are there. (I carve 2" pumpkins)

  29. No. It's been a while since I carved a pumpkin; the last time I did, they were given to the neighbor for roasting and eating.

  30. Never truer words…. This is remarkably unambitious. Instead, spend the morning hauling a tidy portion of the hoard to your ordinary selfs backyard. THEN have your nap… Then enjoy modest wealth thereafter. So, a spell slinging dragon? I think I have a plan… . Dragon Specifically, a wingless, but spell using Sea Dragon which is nevertheless flight capable in the same fashion as Chinese Dragons. The plan will start with locating an unlooted Spanish Treasure hulk… Have a picture… But perhaps a green one.

  32. I painted a witch GK a couple of years ago. It actually could still use a couple of touch ups that I've never gotten around to. No. The not a costume costume. Something with access to high level magic. If you get to do a little planning before the day you should be able to set yourself up pretty well.

  34. I have texted. About once a month. To both of them. One was dealing with wisdom teeth and I forgot to get in touch last month (life got in the way) but we lose touch here and there, he usually texts back after a few. The person I haven't heard from in months is (was?) working odd hours. I texted him yesterday. If I don't hear back, I don't hear back. I can't force stuff like this. I also have something of his that I've been trying to return and... People come, people go. Such is the way of life. I've done my bit. If they don't want to get in touch, I won't force it.

  37. Just in time for the season! I happened to be going through some sort of a creativity crisis. I would start on a figure and almost right away stop feeling it. This guy seemed to shake me up quiet nicely. Although, I did get tired at the end and rushed a few things. But, as I remember, the profys recommend "paint more minis" as oppose to sitting over one for eternity trying to get it to perfection.

  38. The woman concerned is... enthusiastic. And, on reflection, their may be certain Chipmunk like qualities to her voice. Unconnected, to anything, really - I am thinking about having the folks in the after school game encounter Ace Whemmer (what a guy!) - based, not all that loosely, on Ace Rimmer. The Auld Grump

  40. Not sitting around eating candy by myself might be a boost to my self-image, lol. Technically I'm not alone with Molly and Dixie always at hand for food, but the canine companions can't partake in the candy. One of my least favorite. It's like a Snickers bar without the peanuts, and that's just settling when you really want the Snickers. Now, Milky Way Dark is another story... And have you ever noticed that, when you buy an assorted bag of candy, the ratio breakdown always has the most of the one type that is your least favorite? Whoppers always dominate the Hershey's assortment (blah), Milky Ways in the Mars Co. bag,, and there are never enough Special Dark in the mini Hershey's bars bag. It's a conspiracy put on by Big Chocolate!

  43. Every two weeks, I get together with a friend to play a minis game. We switch off whose house we play at, and the host usually gets to pick the game. I cannot for the life of me decide on what I want to play when it's my turn in two weeks. I need to decide ASAP so I can get some appropriate mini painting done. My last three choices were a three part 7tv: Inch Hi Spy Fi campaign, and before that 7tv: Fantasy, while he's been running through his collection of games - last night we played Test of Honor, a samurai skirmish game and before that it was Blood Bowl. I think I've narrowed it down to either 1) finally trying out CAV:SO, 2) Warmaster or 3) another game of 7Tv:Fantasy

  44. Presenting Calculus, she's an alchemist from the Alchemy Guild wielding some sort of alchemy flute, she was made by Steamforged Games as part of their discontinued Guild Ball range. Not too happy with this one. Her face and hair came out okay, but it went downhill from there, couldn't even do a decent job taking piccys. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
