  1. Hey everyone, here's my latest. This is a 77341, lioness painted as a celestial tiger. This model was sculpted by Geoff Valley. I used the 77704, Cave Troll base for this one since I had printed another base for my Troll.

  3. Here is my take on GW's Gandalf the Grey. I've had him for years but finally got around to painting him. His painting is done, but varnishing and basing will have to wait until spring. "Here follows the account of Isildur, the High King of Gondor, at the finding of the Ring of Power."

  6. Here is the Bones Werewolf #77464. Varnishing and basing will have to wait until spring. I really like how his eyes turned out. And then I saw the mold line down the middle of his face 😆.

  7. Monday sucked. That is all. Spent two hours on the phone today with a tech in Edmonton while troubleshooting a bizzare problem. Felt bad every time I had to send him outside to the teller to run another test. I could hear how cold it was before he even told me the temp. The wind was howling so bad I could hear it through the phone, and his teeth were chattering every time he came back inside. I made sure not to tell him it was 10c and sunny here.

  8. Hello to all the Reaper ladies and gents out there! So I've finally gotten around to painting my first Bones USA miniature, Fillyjonk the Hellborn Rogue, and I must say it was quite a pleasurable experience. Lots of good detail, eyes and nose were very discernible, life was pretty good. The only issues I had were with getting rid of the mold lines, plastic flash reacts quite a bit different than metal flash and as I tried to get rid of the plastic flash, it would not completely separate itself from the mini, but kind of left a little string of plastic. But that's not such a big deal I guess ultimately. So here she is, first Hellborn figure I've painted as well, so a double debut of all things Reaper: Oops, think the closeup was a little large, but I'm too lazy to go shrink it down. Anyhoos, hope you all enjoy! I'm definitely a supporter of this Bones USA material, it was very nice! I wonder how much the oncoming Bones VI is going to be Bones Black, I'm hoping for most or all of it. I've done some Bones Black figures and the detail was decent, but this is quite a lot sharper.

  10. Greater Wendigos are on the move again. The mightiest of Ithaqua's brood tend to create storms around themselves, whereas the lesser Wendigo spirits cannot, and resort to hitchhiking on storms already formed. Thier migratory routes across Canada do change from year to year, but not by much. I am beginning to get somewhat concerned that at least one of the Greater Wendigo may be contemplating moving South. Over the weekend vast flocks of Canadian Geese were overflying the County in a manner that reminded me of the Crebain spies of Saruman. The Fat Little Birds were highly aggitated by this. Now, all day Monday I was hearing various things about incoming snow, often in somewhat panicked tones... "Snows Coming!" "How much?" "They don't know, but it's coming! Rain! Ice! Snow! Up to 18 feet!" "Was this from Channel 7?" "Maybe, it doesen't matter! We're going to get buried!" And so on...granted the admission by the usual liars that they have no idea what if anything is coming is new, but the doomsday wailing of the people I know is unusual. Did my paranoia fail me? Did my exgirlfriend's mother finally achieve her true form and will soon be heading in my direction to take me down in a furious rending of frostbiten blackened claws in a cannibalistic frenzy? Are my known associates finally succumbing to mass panic driven by the evil machinations and mind control of the Channel 7 Weather team? Does Benson know? Does Benson care? Answers to this and other questions will be found either later in the week or on the next episode of Soap. My best guess is that the local mice were having a problem with vampires and needed to borrow the garlic press for an extended time. Once they realized that you were looking for it, they brought it back. Either that or the Wee Folk are on a pranking rampage, I had something similar go down with a Mr. Coffee box full of minis a couple weeks ago, although that turned up once I made a determined grid search of each room of the house and garage. "Where did I leave my coffee cup" is also a nigh daily thing, but I chalk that up to the traditional Aquarian absentmindedness.

  12. Here is a model I wanted to paint for a long time. I decided to give it a twist by adding an artifact on its base. This is an 03655, Iron Cobra sculpted by Andrew Pieper. The Orb is from the 02652, Magic Treasures III and the base is a 40mm wide 74024 base.

  21. You could always use them backwards. Now that's just crazy talk. I've altered my life enough to live in this right-handed world (scissors, computer mice, always having to use a right-handed rule during physics courses), I have to draw the line somewhere!

  22. Random photo of leafs… …we were discussing inspiration for color palettes during Rhonda's stream. Taking colors from unusual sources, etc. Maybe one of you decent (more skilled than I) painters can try this on a Dragon, Elf, or Wizard.

  23. Before The Blizzard I received a package of relatively practical stuff from Scenic Express: JTT 1:45 Cattails Martin Welberg Weed Tufts (2) MiniNatur 1:45 Long Blossom Tuffs Woodland Scenic Foam Putty (2) O Scale Cattails (unknown manufacturer AND some impractical, but good for the soul, North Umbrian Tin Soldier thingies from Noble Knight. The Deathstealer & The Burglar: The Gatestone (I usually prefer to make my own scenery, but this was irresistible: AND The Gnomes of Agaldurs Keep: SUCH There are three decidedly impractical Zealot miniatures en route from Noble Knight as well. Impracticality can be SUCH fun.

  24. Finally the spelunking diorama is finished (WIP thread). I am quite happy with the OSL, even though it was a struggle at times and obviously there is always room for improvement. The miniatures are two converted Bones Miniatures using Statuesque Miniatures heads and weapon swaps from the bitz box. The top level miniature was converted from 77049 Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger and the character in the cave from 77387 Lanell, Female Rogue. The base is entirely scratch built, only the fern is an awesome photo etch kit by Chichkovshop and the foliage by MiniNatur. The initial lighting sketch was applied by airbrush, using violet, orange and turquoise. I then went back in by brush and added more contrast with yellows, greens and blues. I don't think anyone tried to depict fireflies so far, at least to my knowledge. They are made of paper and Greenstuff. So, how do you like my second OSL attempt? What could I improve with the next one, which parts do you like best?

  26. I absolutely knew this would happen. Back in July I ordered a garlic press. Nothing fancy, but it came with a cute wooden spoon. Well, I didn’t need to use it for a couple months, because I had a big ol’ jar of minced garlic in the fridge that I had just bought. Of course, by the time I ran out of garlic and needed to use my press, the press was nowhere to be found. It was as though it just stopped existing. I bought a new one two weeks ago. Guess what I found tonight? 😒

  27. I haven't actually been able to get my sh-tuff together recently, but I finally did so...And so on to ACQUISITIONS: Porcelain paint well pallett. Brush soap! Maybe, I'll actually use it someday... And, despite being "GW-Free" for over a decade, I've fallen off the wagon. Start Collecting Genestealer Cult (x2) Shadow Throne (just need to find someone/somewhere to offload the other army) Genestealer Cult codex (old edition, but who knows when I'll actually have a chance to play anyway). GSC "Nexos" I've been a sucker for the cults since they first appeared in the pages of White Dwarf...

  30. My kiln isn't that big, so the maximum size of the eye I could do would likely dictate a maximum tower height of 8 to 12 ft to remain in scale. I'm looking out my office window at the CenturyLink phone pole/box eyesore, and wondering if I can make the tower a cover for it. I'm guessing CenturyLink would not be as amused by it as I would.

  35. My brand new Pens. This brings ^ back memories. I was always very excited to get a new one. Nearly always managed to disappoint though. Because all the ones I had, one of the four barrels would be sub-par. The green would be scratchy, or the red would skip, or something….

  38. I have seen this miniature many times throughout my association with Reaper. I finally painted one of my own. It isn't the best paint job, but for a bones mini painted to a table top standard, it will do.

  40. It's been a while! Work and school have been taking up a lot of time. But, got my Ender 5 Pro working again, and got some glow in the dark filament. And, thanks to Dragon Trappers Lodge, I have some great looking ghostly sails for my ship! You'll note the lookout drinking again on the job in the crows nest 😄 and, just for fun, it glowing in the dark! Lots of work left to do on it, but man am I really digging working on it!
