  1. Meet Bandit: ETA: The cats aren't too enthused with this development, but there hasn't been any aggression or hostility from either camp, so that seems like a good sign. There has been a little cautious sniffing of noses, which I'll also take as a good sign.

  2. Tried out some of AP's new speed paint colors. Not too bad. The pink isn't as intense as I thought it would be and the new "peachy flesh" isn't too different from crusader flesh. It's more subtle which makes it more suitable for pale female flesh tones. The crusader skin tone was plenty ruddy enough for my purposes, but this new tone is a welcome addition.

  3. I've got a soft spot for Tieflings so imagine my surprise reaper released this bad boy... or girl. This minis was a joy to paint, very pleased with the final results.

  4. I was so excited when reaper released this mini in bones USA. Such a great sculpt and now in the lighter bones USA material. I thought I got all the flash off of him. Looks like I missed some areas on his shield. Oops, my bad.

  5. 13th Not lately but it does happen more often than I'd like nowadays. Used to have a fairly good memory. 14th MIL lives with us and mom's a few minutes away. I've been cooking different things all day for them and the wife. Nothing says loving like good food.

  6. I needed a drow wizard for my campaign and this guy was in my pile of shame. To be honest, he would have continued to sit there if it hadn't been for this specific role playing need. My players are new to dnd and haven't had dealings with drow before. They think they're helping this guy, boy are they going to be surprised when he betrays them!

  7. Bandit looks like a Good old Boy. Here's hoping the cats accept the defacto new living arrangements without too much sturm and drang. Might I be so bold as to suggest a few extra kitty treats for the next couple weeks? Gradually tapering off as everybody gets used to the new living arrangements. GEM Seems topical: GEM

  8. 13th: I asked my wife if I had forgotten anything lately and I got a list back. 14th: We don't typically worry about mother's day in my family. And my MiL is best avoided most of the time. So we don't have any traditions. That being said, my folks and my sister were all available today so we all drove to a restaurant roughly equidistance from us all and hung out on a patio for a couple hours eating and having a good time. I picked up my folks tab as a happy mother's day gift. Which made both my folks angry as they don't like it when their kids pay for them. Which made me laugh. Good times.

  9. The acronym of the super-secret-shadow organization that activated her turns out to be either: WOOF or MEOW (or very remote possibility: GRFFN) …only later does the significance of little cartoon doodles the crew kept finding of dogs or cats with word bubbles containing WOOF or MEOW finally make sense.

  10. Asking question repeatedly isn't a problem. Like others have said names are a hang up. I do remember them, but not always when I should. They tend to come to me in the middle of the night. Suddenly I will wake up with the name I was trying to remember. I was going to give an example, but now I can't remember what it was. It will come to me at 3am or so.

  11. May 13th...Forgot to answer this question... May 14th. My Mother passed away in 2007. We do visit my Girl's Mother of course, brought her a nice plant she loves. The Vixens are in charge of buying a gift for my Girl and so they did.

  12. Oh, certainly. I've also mostly forgotten things: like when I supposed to inform Mrs. Strawhat that Pa Strawhat had ordered some tomato and bell pepper plants. I eventually remembered, when Mrs. Strawhat was planting her tomato and bell pepper plants. Oops. Ma Strawhat passed a couple years ago, so we will be focusing on Mrs. Strawhat, Eldest, and Youngest. I bought Mrs. Strawhat some gardening supplies that she needed/wanted, and did a good chunk of the picking up for a family dinner. Eldest and Youngest bought her a few things and spent some time with her during the usual Sunday grocery shopping. We also had a family meal together with Pa Strawhat and Strawbonnet 1 (who normally resides with her father, but was with us because of Mother's Day)--Nothing fancy, just chicken wings from a national chain. We all got more than enough to eat and set out plans for the next family dinner in only a few days (part of a fundraiser). We don't have any set traditions, we just take the day as it comes--Well, I guess the family meal is a tradition. We always make sure to get together, but the time and contents of the meal change.

  13. Something like that. Bandit is the name the SPCA gave him, btw. He was brought in as a stray so they named him. He answers to it, so we don't see a need to change it.

  16. I painted this guy up for Frostgrave and I really liked how he painted up. I carried the dragon scale theme to the scabbard which I think worked well. This is what I consider tabletop grade.

  21. So yeah, I was just about to ask about hobby goals, since we're half way through the month, when I got a funny feeling, and went back and checked, and sure enough I'd already asked about that about a week ago. Sigh. I blame it on getting older. That or being over stressed with going back to work. Or both. Probably both. Anyway, as someone who has always relied on his memory over things like taking notes and making lists, and all that good organizational stuff, I find it very frustrating, which likely leads to stress and makes it worse. So I guess I need to start being more organized. Or something.

  24. I am also terrible with names. Some find it odd I can remember certain names in the warehouse, but they're people I see every morning, and our team also coordinates with despite being in completely separate divisions. And then there's our other delivery team, where I only know a few names... Me and remmeberering names is something that's rather difficult, always has been. I can usually remember faces, but names seem to take a while, which is always fun when a paramedic tells you their name and you've already forgotten it by the time they're finished the sentence... >.>

  25. I have the opposite problem. I will remember the name, but 10 seconds later I don't remember which face it goes with.

  27. Constantly as I juggle work and home life. Things get missed and recovered on the first bounce. I called my mother, and sent her a gift. I would have preferred to spent at least a portion of the day with her. It was my wife's weekend. We spent it knocking out her list of things for the house and garden. My wife and the boys typically go for a Mother's Day backpacking weekend. It got moved a couple weeks this year. If I ask a question twice it's because I didn't get and answer the first time.

  30. I went back to work last night after a week's worth of vacation, damn I hurt now. It didn't help I hurt my back early last week (I think I slept on it wrong or I'm not use to sleeping for more then 4 hours at a time). I will admit my back wasn't really an issue last night, but my right foot hurts. Hopefully back to the normal grind will re-align everything back to where it was, pre-vacation.

  31. Another note, the suffix '-wich" at the end of a location name is old English for having a salt works in the vicinity. Brine pump mining over centuries has lead to many a sinkhole in the areas around -wiches in Britain.

  35. Fun quick mini, very happy with the sewer manhole cover. Painted it black, then did a wash with Reaper 09072 Rust Brown, then made sure all the bubbles were popped and it had run into the crevasses, then wiped it with a paper towel and did a very light drybrush with blackened steel. Looks like I may have gotten some minute droplets when I drybrushed the coat but they're not really visible unless you look super closely. Enjoy and cc always welcome!

  37. This was 3d printed, but had minimal support structure dimples, mostly on the back of the chest, so not bad at all. Better than the minis I get from independent 3d printed mini vendors.

  38. If I haven't worked with you for at least 2 weeks and interacted with you regularly, I'm probably going to ask you the same thing again. Work has a high turnover rate for employees, and I no longer work side-by-side on the line. Otherwise, I'm pretty good once that initial few weeks is done, and I tend to ask the same question again but as a follow-up, as in "hey, did you ever get that ____ you were looking to buy?"

  43. 13th. Well, obviously. 😄 14th. I'm bbqing. Well, again, I already did for lunch as well. We've talked of going to the show after supper but have held off on booking because the kid may still be having some concussion symptoms (you know how you drop something and instinctively bend down to grab it? He did that on friday at school. Unfortunately he's in training to be an automotive tech, and there was a full sized vice in the way... the emergency room cleared him of any major damage, but concussions can be tricksy). I'll give my mom a call later (I was over to visit last week and will be again in a couple weeks). And give extra support to my wife, as this is the 4th? year since her mom passed.

  44. Well, I'm only a mumsy to two wonderful fur babies. But my sister, grandma and Mumsy are coming out for ham dinner. Usually I'm too broke to buy Mumsy anything, so we have a tradition that I do slave work in the yard all day. One year, I had enough money that we went to the garden centre and bought a may day tree. I call this the Love Tree and the idea is that it is supposed to flower around mother's day. The reality is that it actually flowers in early June, but we both really love it.

  45. Good evening Reaperlaizet! So tonight we have an Old Wizard with Staff, not quite sure at all who the sculptor was, but pretty sure not the big three at Partha, Meier, Mize or Guthrie. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, but if anybody happens to know, please let me know! So one thing I tried was give him two colors of eyes, one is blue and one is green. Not so well how well this translated in the photos. One thing it kind of looks like is one of his eyes are a bit filmy. Gave him some pale skin, so hopefully he looks old as his title suggests. Anyhoos, enjoy this little old man!

  47. And I’m not trying to be unsympathetic to the loss they experienced 6 months ago. Ed was more than just an accountant and despite hanging around them at tons of ReaperCons I was never clear on what role Brother Dave, worked alongside him, etc. I could certainly see Ed piloting every step of their projects inside of spreadsheets along the way. My reference to Base Boss 2 entailed that fact that by the time they lost Ed that project was already not fond of updates, and was 3+ months overdue by the time he passed.

  48. Going to bed on time sounds like an appropriate thing, then again, since I'm on short term leave until I can cough up a bunch of cash to get a bunch of paperwork filled out I suppose it's alright that I let my body just sort of follow it's natural sleep schedule. That and hey, I'm recovering from a few different things, and this is letting me actually sleep, so I'm calling it even. No plans at all, although I might answer my phone if it rings and I'm not buried face first in my airbrush booth, or am busy sculpting or something like that. Mom's a province over, so it's tough to really do anything - not like I have spare cash for something like such anyways.
