  1. Another pair of convention speed paints repainted at home. I did not realize the guy on the left was a gnome, so he got painted as a goblin. Similarly, I painted the one on the right as a halfling paladin. When I think of gnomes I envision fat little guys in pointy red caps, according to traditional scandinavian lore.

  4. Another speed paint I brought home from the con and cleaned up. She's so little she really need brightening up so I gave her the green tunic and red hair. Her base is tiny, not even half an inch across and I almost put her on a washer for stability. Then I thought that might be too much so I left her as is.

  5. 1) A bowl full of Chili, or New England Clam Chowder, or Oyster Stew or Ham, Green Beans and Potatoes. 2) God I hope not. Nothing against the lady but she has pervaded to far into all current popular culture.

  6. I had high hopes for those types of blades as well. I just couldn't get pass the backwards shape of them (not to mention they really were all that great of blades to begin with). 1) Bowl of homemade chili is my preferred bowl. As far as sports-"bowls" go, probably Auzten Stadium in Eugene, OR. Fantastic stadium, great acoustics & not a bad seat in the house. 2) I for one hope not. It's bad enough you can't watch the NFL anymore without some sorta reference to her now. I'm not a hater, but when something gets constantly shoved in your face when you don't want it to be, yah it gets old after awhile. Kinda like Mahomie & Mr Swift aka Kelce in every commercial during a NFL game. Just. Gets. Old. While the colors are very nice as using hobby tools that have been used with resin printing for other things is a bad idea, I just like the shape over a standard x=acto handle. It fits my big monkey-paw hands & fingers.

  7. I use those snap off knives. My X-Acto handles have been repurposed to holding miniatures I'm painting or sculpting. Cereal or soup bowls; Melissa has a variety of Nightmare Before Christmas & Halloween bowls that I am fond of. Other than thinking she is cute, I know nothing about Taylor (deaf folk generally aren't interested in music) & I am unfamiliar with Deadpool.

  8. What very odd questions. I have no particular favorite kind of bowl, and I have no idea where Taylor Swift might show up.

  9. I guess it depends on the game. Recently I did sleeve up Nord Games Crit (Success & Fail & Fate) decks with different sleeve colors (due to severity of the results on the cards). As I knew I was going to be using those weekly during my FLGS D&D game. I also sleeved up the cards in the Dragonbane rpg box set. Now cards for say, Solitaire or other traditional boards games probably a no.

  10. Question for February 12th: sorry, it's a Monday..... Do you put sleeves on the cards for any of your board games? (Today's question brought to you by Marvel Zombies!, which requires 128 41x63mm and 12 70x110mm sleeves)

  11. broccoliake For the most part Average. I have noticed that my dice rolling became less successful after the birth of my son. It seems he has absorbed the lost luck of his old man, because he is uncannily luck. It sometime is quite discouraging to play dice heavy games with him.\ Different tools for different jobs.

  13. 2.5 hours. After half time, if no chicken, I'll just cancel. Not sure what made me waste my time here. Bonchon isn't even all that for chicken. On the other hand, watched the Lindt commercial. Does anyone bite that ball of truffle in half? I've only known people who ate the whole thing because it would crumble if bitten in half.

  14. 1) WE have what we call plate bowls, but googling says they are probably rim soup bowl, which I quite like. They are good for soup, good for spaghetti or alfredo, good for lots of things. They are all identical so no favorite there, but we do have these old plastic bowls we've had since the kids were little. Of the larger of the two sizes we have , the blue one is my favorite bowl. Mostly because we pretty much only use those for ice cream these days...... 2) If the marketing wonder twins (Reynolds and Swift) activate and combine their powers in Deadpool 3 to save the MCU, it could be a ridiculously high grossing movie...... so probably yes.

  15. This was a speed paint repaint from last year's con. Specifically, paint by die roll where he ended up mainly purple, green, and pink. I figured the least I could do for his (their?) dignity was a repaint in nice browns and flesh tones and make him table ready. I left the green hair, though. Didn't think the original base was stable enough so I decide to rebase on an old Secret Weapon base. Getting the guy of the original base was a PITA though. This new plastic shatters like resin when I try to cut it with clippers. I couldn't get a hobby knife through it. Maybe I could if I wanted to destroy my hands.... Anyway, one foot came apart in 3 pieces and I had to glue it back together before basing. Much prefer the softer Bones material.

  19. Oh yea. That was fun to watch. No complaints about the defense of both teams. Half time show was a little disappointing. My SO and sister in law tuned out completely at that point.

  20. But they gave the Chiefs a good run, didn't they? I get bored with Superbowls where one team dominates. And the halftime show was dynamic.

  22. 1: Toss-up. I liked West Seattle Bowl the one time I was there, and I loved Lower Columbia Bowl as a kid. That said, a poke bowl is always a treat. As a teen, I might have gone for a different bowl, but I'm all grown up and responsible now. 2: Given that Taylor Swift is everywhere, all the time, and a Deadpool 3 trailer will be somewhere, sometime, I have to assume the answer is yes.

  23. 1) Tupperware mixing bowls. We have 1, 2, 3, and really big (6?) quart sizes. They all fit in the dishwasher. They have lids. I require the really big ones for large batches of cookies, like the ones I took to reapercon, for my stuffing recipe I don't know how to make a smaller batch of, and they'll fit a gallon batch of tapioca which dad has thankfully learned to make for himself because I hate tapioca. One gallon of tapioca generally disappears in 3 days or less. 2) I'll get back to you after I watch the first two Deadpool movies, which might be sometime this decade. I do know he's trouble, and since he has regeneration abilities maybe he feels 22.

  25. Keeping it weird with the Wolf-in-Sheep's-Clothing. This is a old monster, coming from the Monster Manual 2 back in 1983 (so we're both elder millennials). I put a quick and dirty paint job on it and might have to sneak it onto the game table on the near future.

  27. Feeling that one today. Processes out of my control are not mine to shortcut, so no, I can’t speed things up. I will get derisively laughed at to even ask and they know it so why ask me? Frustrating. Then to add to my Monday fun, looks like the 16 year old cooktop has something wrong. Won’t turn on. Circuit breaker appears fine. Have to look at it this evening. Luckily we aren’t in need of it for a while.

  29. I haven't until now. I mean, when I backed the two latest Corvus Belli games (Infinity Defiance and TAG Raid) both came with card sleeves at the pledge level I took, but I haven't gotten around to actually playing those yet. And I started using card sleeves for Star Wars Legion a few years ago , since they are out on the tabletop with the minis. But I'm looking at taking Marvel Zombies! in to the store to play so I figured I'd should sleeve up. Nice that there are online resources that quickly tell you exactly what sleeves you need, like BGG.

  33. Hello all you fine Reaperkloskis! So this evening finally getting around two minis that I did a few weeks back. I painted up the two Ral Partha Djinn, sculpted way back when by Tom Meier. This is the second time I painted them, and this time I actually painted them with the specific desire to try to sell them on the all so nefarious eBay, A- to see if I could get something to sell for a decent price and B- because I need to see if I can buy myself some new paints and such with the proceeds. My miniature budget is not the largest, so on occasion I might do something like try to sell something to see if I can raise some funds for new paints and this time I'm running out of normal-sized bases as well. So anyhoos, here they are, anybody old enough will probably recognize these pretty easily: Here they are together as the set itself: and then here each individual one, first of all the one that I've always likened to Robin Williams, even though a lot skinnier and meaner looking, and sculpted years before the Aladdin movie ever came out The other one being at least the way I've always seen this one, as an Efreet, all warm reds, oranges and yellows: I actually painted these same miniatures quite a many years ago as well, if I recall with craft paints ( the new ones are all done with Reaper paints): and then of course, always fun to compare them side by side: Different brands of paints and probably 10-15 years between paint jobs, always fun to compare! You also might see small differences, for example, shape of sword and one of the blue djinn has a nose ring, while the other does not. Back then lots of Ral Partha figures might have gotten updated or modified to a number of reasons. Couldn't tell you which is the original version however. So anyhow, hope you all enjoy! Viva old school!

  35. Just finished him for RCL. It was definitely not the crispest casting, I found the mold lines pretty extensive and frustrating. The face was pretty much a blob - I mostly just painted in teeth whereever I thought he needed them... However, this dude has character to spare! C&C are always welcomed!

  36. Any bowl filled with food is a good bowl. Nacho, sundae, popcorn, soup, etc. The question I didn't know I wanted. I don't mind the occasional cameo. I do not. I'm careful with my stuff (excluding that time I had flood damage where even sleeves wouldn't have been enough). Though I did get sleeves for spell cards for a campaign that fell through. So I still got them, unused.

  37. Funny. Got rejected for a credit card and will be mailed the reason. Was doing it only for the bonus cash so they probably looked at my credit history and realized they’d be out the cash without hope of recovering any money via fees. Guess I’ll see when the notice arrives.

  40. I've done this before when I knew I had a game in the future, but I didn't really need the minis right now or next week. I guess at the time it was "hey this is a cool mini for this creature(s) (slice up). Helps keep the feeling & remembrance of the file to the encounter. Thou this does cause some problems (see above - the little girl mini). I tend to forget where some minis are located if it's a misc plate of files on it.
