When I saw the final sculpt of the Gem Dragon I was so excited! The details are gorgeous, it’s hard to see on the translucent plastic but when I started applying paint it came to life.
I started by applying some colour to the gaps to be able to see the mould lines and places I needed to fill.
I assembled the dragon and the base but kept them seperate as I started painting to be able to get to the details I wouldn’t be able to if the entire thing was assembled.

I like your paintjob! Is she painted for D&D or Reign in Hell?
Just general display and D&D stuff. My current DM favours the paper pieces to represent monsters but I am hoping if I paint enough I can tempt him! 😁

Thanks so much Inarah!

That colour scheme is amazing, the use of the OSL and the blues on the back are super well done. Creates an amazing atmosphere. I also can't stop staring at those fur highlights, so good! 😍

She is so cute, I adore the base! The highlights in her hair are just lovely.

Thank you everyone! I was going through my old photos while updating my mini painting Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cassusadventures/
and found that a lot of my old pieces are from 2013, it's been such a long time but glad to be getting back to the hobby. I even bought and built a holder for my paints!
I just found another Silverhorn Unicorn in my collection of minis so I'll have to paint another in a totally different colour scheme,

Been tinkering with painting again, worked on my Eilluvasheth the Succubus Queen and painted her up in the colour scheme of Alexstasza from World of Warcraft. Despite boiling her and quick-cooling her she still had a bit of a lean but she was fun to paint.
Here are the links to the front views since she has nipple pasties:
I made a small tutorial on my Instagram about how to make the flower petals I used on the base: https://www.instagram.com/cassusadventures

An Australian back (from wave 1
) who finally received my order last Friday.
Happy with how much I have to go through, especially the Fantasy Scenics. How do they go together?!

Thanks Glitterwolf, it's been nice stretching my painting chops again. After moving so much and getting started in a new career (I am now a full-time tattoo artist) I haven't had as much time for the hobby as I would like.
Spent a couple of hours on her face tonight, still some edges to smooth out.

I got two Efreetis in my recent Reaper order. Out of the two one had far more gap lines than the other, so I opened the one that would take less effort to work on first since it's been awhile since I have properly tinkered with a mini.
First thing's first, gap filling! This model had quite a lot of mold lines too, I dealt with most of them with an xacto knife and a file. The Bones Black material is brittle enough to handle a file if you're careful unlike the white Bones counterpart.
While priming I noticed that part of one of her horns was missing, must have snapped off during shipping or during my work on her. Touched it back up with some more green stuff, just waiting for it to cure before I prime over it.
In the mean time, there is nothing stopping me from popping into Procreate to play around with a colour scheme. I wanted to try something a but different than other painting examples I had seen. Still incorporating the red and gold, just in different ways.

Gem Dragon

Thanks all! This has been such a fun project.
Finally glued the dragon onto the base and started on the scales and outer wings (I painted the inner wings before fixing it to the base)
