Steven suggested I go with the following: Nefsokar sorcerer for the 3rd level, and a mercenary rogue for the 1st level Crusader If anybody else wants one of these let me know. I am easily adaptable.

Count me in. I'll get started on some characters. Any suggestions as to party needs would be appreciated. Stefan BTW Any special requirements for these characters? Starting cash, min/max ability scores, types of equipment needed, etc.?

I'm up for about any class/race/alignment. I do tend to do a little better playing a character with little or no magical abilities though, as I tend to get a little too reliant on magical power if my character has too much. Although I once played a Lawful Evil Cleric who used all of his healing spells on himself no matter how minor the injuries before maybe helping those in the party who were most useful to him. That was pretty fun.

How different is 3rd ed from 2nd ed? Would I have to buy rule books or would it be fairly easy to wing it? I have the 2nd ed core rules cd rom. Thanks, Stefan

Thanks for the support. (Not that I expected anything less from this group, but it's still cool none-the-less) Can't wait to get started.

Never mind. I ordered one this afternoon. When the time comes, I'll do my best to keep up. Stefan

Only if you promise to play along with us, Styates. Otherwise, I'm going to insist that Kevin simply answer, "Very carefully." Ok, Ok where do I get the mini? It would be kind of fun to play along I guess instead of just lurking around here like I have been for a while now.

That eye is fantastic. Could you give us some pointers on how you did it??

I'm more into fantasy than anything, but I'm also open to anything. I don't currently own any rulebooks, but I'm a quick learner and I used to play 2nd edition D&D quite a bit so I have most of the general basics of roleplaying down.

I'd be interested in getting in on something as well.

ZED Bring out The Gimp. MAYNARD I think The Gimp's asleep. ZED Well, I guess you'll just wake 'em up then, won't you? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Sounds like some good advice on the ink wash before trimming. I'll have to try that.

Now that's just scary... What, you got something against us face painting freaks???

Here's one of me at a Kansas State University football game last fall GO WILDCATS!!!!!

I haven't had that problem and I've stripped many mini's that way. Interesting.

I soak the mini in Pinesol. It's a little strong smelling, but not as corrosive to your skin as paint thinner and after a day or so of soaking will take most paint/primer right off. Just scrub it with a toothbrush. You may want to wear gloves, I don't and haven't had any problems, but I've got pretty tough hands. If everything doesn't come off right away, just dunk again for a few hours. For some reason, the only things that give me any real problems are bright yellows and reds, it must be a difference in what is used for the pigment in the paint. Most of my old minis are painted (poorly from years ago when I was younger) with Testors enamels. So, acrylics will come off even easier.

My mom makes some pretty good mulberry jelly. I'll see if I can get a recipe from her when I see her this weekend. (During her experimental period with it, it often came out more like syrup, which was excellent on pancakes!!!)

Very intriguing so far. Keep it coming. I'm anxious to see where you are going to go with this.

Great. Now Unskinny Bop is going to be stuck in my head all day. THANKS!!! Back to the original purpose for this thread, Lady Tam, How's the conversion going?

To answer your unrelated question about avatars, refer to the topic titled Kit Rocks! in the general discussion section. (That's how I finally got my Conan avatar and stopped embarrassing Sir Robin)

I'm interested in joining but don't have too much of a clue how the gaming for this works. I haven't watched the series, but have seen the movie and the concept sounds interesting. Is this something that I could get in on??? I could probably pull of the football jock character ok as long as he doesn't have to be TOO stupid. (I played football throughout high school, but I don't consider myself to be a neanderthal type by any means.) I've played AD&D years ago, but that's about it. If you don't think that I have enough experience to play, let me know and I'll just follow along and see how it works. Thanks, Stefan

I got some pretty good results by doing a google image search for Celtic Images (I went through 5 or 6 of the 12 pages and most of them had several cool images on them). I also tried Celtic tatoos but only got a few decent things. Hope this helps. Stefan
