  1. I need to place my order soon. I'm kind of waiting to see when the Oct. releases will be available. I have my eye on the Master Spy! Anyone know when the magic release date is? My friend already placed her order and she received a treat: the Pumpkin Horror <-- very nice!
  2. Nice work, she's looking good! I think the sword looks good! Sure the back is crooked but I agree with you, I wouldn't strip it at this point.
  3. Congrats to the winners! MamaGeek said it best in the other thread but again, thanks to Reaper for hosting this and for all who entered and voted! It was a lot of fun and I can't wait for the next one!
  4. Thanks for all the kind words! My mom loves it!
  5. It was a great day and well worth the drive! Wren, you did an awesome job! And it was great to meet you and GreyHorde in person.
  6. She is off to a great start! She is a fast learner and has the talent! Tell to keep it up and to post more. I would love to see how her skills evolve over time.
  7. Love your the colors you used. Beautiful work!
  8. Really great piece! I love pirates. The little extras add a lot of interest. Love the concept! And thanks for sharing your basing methods! Good luck in the contest!
  9. This piece is fantastic! I have been following this one on your blog. I just love seeing really creative scenes and this one has quickly been added as one of my favs. So very clever! And as always, I love your use of color! The whole piece just flows beautifully. I purchased the book you recommended on color theory. I haven't had a chance to start reading it yet but I hope I can learn a few things from it like you did! Good luck in the contest! I can't wait to see how this one goes. I even entered a few pieces myself! Take care!
  10. Very nice gift! And I'll have to remember cabinet door knobs for future bases. Great idea! What mini is this?
  11. I predict it will be a close run between you, MamaGeek and Jabberwocky Should be an interesting contest to watch!
  12. I painted these as a gift for my mom. This was also one of my entries for the Summer Painting Contest. These were a lot of fun to paint! I love the reaper greens The base is a mix of spices, landscaping rocks, static grass, and landscaping flowers. I added the red flowers to the tree for interest and I also painted the trunk so it hide the shiny plastic look. C&C are welcome! Hope you enjoy!
  13. I just want to wish everyone good luck! This was my first time to enter
  14. I'm just happy to have something like this in TN! Blending for sure! We have been viewing and re-viewing tutorial DVDs such as Hot Lead. Which are a big help but nothing beats real face time You mentioned transparent cloth above. I would love to pick your brain on that! See you Sept. 10th!
  15. Knoxville, TN? Really? Awesome! My friend and I are going to try and make it. We're in middle TN so just a few hours east of Knoxville
  16. So I couldn't find the solutions suggested at local retailers, (Wal-Mart) but I did find something that claimed to remove enamel based paint. And it worked!! Ta da! I used Krud Kutter Graffiti Remover. I used two sprays per mini, let it set for 1-2 mins then lightly scrubbed with a toothbrush. The paint just slid off! Thanks for all the help! I really appreciated it!
  17. No worries, it's always good to have extra cleaner in the house! I think the kicker is what Laszlo said, the primer I used is enamel based. Time to start trying the heavy duty stuff
