  1. That's the level of detail I'm seeing on my Raptors. Just checked.
  2. I'm a hoarder . . . Well, that's what my wife says anyway . . . Bones I - IV, Core Set for each, Some Add-Ons and Core Extras, with Bones II being my lightest Bones KS and IV being my largest. I have assembled a few pieces and painted even less. I've painted more CAV stuff than fantasy, but I've friends who come over and paint on occasion. Makes for a good social occasion. As I stated in a recent post, I'm going to start assembling some pieces so that they can be used for games. Some models will be partially assembled, likely the bigger ones, in hopes of inspiring me to start painting again. My wife has promised to help me learn to airbrush*. In my first attempt at assembling minis, I realized that assembling while trying to complete an inventory will ensure the inventory will never get done, so I've reorganized everything, putting the 'assembled' stuff away, it's already inventoried, and starting this next week I'll focus on completing the inventory. Then I'll start the concerted assembly effort. Then I'll schedule more painting days with my friends. * She used to do airbrush for a living 30+ years ago in Panama City, on the beach, and then again when she worked in the construction industry as a construction artist, if that's the correct term. She also did scenic design for TV shows and Conventions, sign work for a number of 'amusement parks' in the I-4 corridor in FL, and finally designed, cut, coated, and painted architectural design elements for 8 years after we got married. The takeaway from this is that SHE is the artist . . .
  3. Hi Folks! Looking at the Dragon Turtle and have a question but first I want to note that I have the clear ‘swim’ stand. For my question, does everyone else’s turtle have a ridge-point ‘broken’? It would be on the port side, second ridge from the edge, just aft of the midsection. The turtle pieces are a little loose for a dry-fit, but the do fo together otherwise. The base is ok but at least one piece was a tough fit. Addendum: I’ve mostly convinced myself that it’s intentional and represents damage taken by the turtle as it aged.
  4. Thanks Folks for all the responses to my early assembly question. From Bones 1 through 3 I have held off on assembly until I was ready to paint, and then have actually only painted a number of figures that did not require assembly. I like the potential for seeing a really neat figure that has been assembled, even if only partially, and suddenly being inspired to paint it. I also completely understand assembling simply to use them on the table as I am currently running my group through SKT and could have used even the smaller giants from the earlier Bones KSs. I do have a small collection of WotC minis from the 90's, but the party has gotten a little tired of every giant looking like a hill giant. So starting with Bones IV I'll start doing some early assembly. I liked the idea of assembling the smaller figures, and only partially assembling the larger ones, like the dragons and the otherwise more complex figures, if it looks like it would make painting some areas more difficult. Thanks again everyone how has responded so far, and for those who have yet to respond. I'll take it all in!
  5. Well, out on S/L today so I think I'll finally begin the detailed inventory of my BBB0B! I've noted the a lot of you folks actually assemble sooner than later. I was planning on doing at least a dry fit to ensure all the pieces-parts where there and or not damaged, but I do have a bottle of super glue handy, and will be making at least one run to the store today to pick up another bottle or two (or three). Not that there really needs to be a reason, but I was wondering why the whole-sale assembly right up front? On the other hand, now that I've written out my question, I can imagine how cool it would be to put even the untainted minis, or not so minis depending on the figure in question, on display, driving me to a solution to the storage problem that also satisfies the final display problem. Addendum: For those that do preassemble, are there some figures that you don't preassemble for reasons of making the painting more difficult?
  6. It’s been two days since my BBBoBs was delivered and I just now noticed the note the delivery guy put down in the record on the “Delivered” note. Delivered: Met Customer Man
  7. What @Orlando_the_Technicoloured said! My wife and I both backed the Doggies KS (independently, without each others knowledge. ) and it is the FIRST KS I've backed that delivered early.
  8. Make it a spooky house on a hill and then cut a hole in the hill for the legs to fit into!
  9. I really like the resin model as well. So much so that I've pledge for more than one . . .
  10. I'm not a backer for this project but I can say I've pulled out of a couple of Kickstarters that got Stretch Goal happy. They seldom come out good.
  11. Ten minutes ago I’d have sworn that both my trikes came with based, but now I’m not sure. I’ll be home shortly after my wife finishes Easter shopping for the granddaughters. (Really, I love the granddaughters and all, but I thought Easter Baskets were the responcibility of mommy and daddy. I mean, I already bought them each a Toothless!)
  12. I’ll need to take another look at mine, especially as this is the piece that finally sold me on Dreadmere. I opened up the Dreadmere box and pulled the terrapin and the pack seemed to go on fine. Oh, and I did finally get it back off. I did have a problem finding where to put the lamp though.
  13. Your friends must be professionals! Much better behaved!
  14. Ok, I know I just got my Bones IV Rewards, and fulfillment is still underway, but I have a question. Post fulfillment, if there are any expansions left, in past Bones KSs, how long after the KS was fulfilled did the excess Expansion become available? Asking for a friend . . .
  15. Got the game room clean enough to be able to start the process of sorting, counting, and storing the figures. I've gone through the add-ons and except for a short bit where I couldn't find the extra Small World Heroes, which I had mindless put behind the big box while looking for another set of pieces, are all present and accounted for. I only dry fitted Argent and found that the right wing seems to droop a bit, but I'll take a closer look later. In the mean time, here is a picture of my pile of bones! And then because it seems to be a thing, here is the Sun Puppy, though she's wondering what daddy is doing with her, or to where he might be sending her?
  16. Just over two hours live and they are approaching 3000 backers. This KS is HOT!
  17. MY Big BOX of BEAUTIFUL BONES are HERE!!!!! Unfortunately my gaming table (and room) aren't completely clean yet so it will be at least another hours or so before I can unbox everything.
  18. Now I need to finish cleaning off my gaming table!
  19. My Big Beautiful Box of Bones is Out for Delivery!!
  20. I might end up exceedingly happy with UPS later today. Waking up in the middle of the night I find that UPS has updated the delivery date of my Big Beautiful Box of Bones from 4/17 to 4/16, which means I’ll he home when they arrive!! Note: Due to the impending arrival of granddaughter #4, I have taken a couple of days off work so Nana and I could watch granddaughters 1, 2, and 3 while mommy and daddy were picking up baby Zoey at the Stork Depot. Turns out the storks were very efficient and mommy and daddy made it home a day sooner than expected, so Cece, Lyla, and Mae have gone home a day early to be with mommy and daddy and Zoey, leaving grampa with nothing to do on this, the last Family Leave day off, but to roll around in a big pile of bones which he now expects to arrive one day early! Addendum: My BBBoB has left Jacksonville!
  21. No. Still working to get a printer. My wife has given me permission. Of course the fact that she used to work with CNC equipment might have helped convince her.
  22. I had a little issue with their versioning system until someone clarified it for me. What was throwing me was getting an update that included, as an example, both a 1.2.4 file and a 1.2.5 file where the previous update contained a 1.2.2 and a 1.2.3. It looked like I needed to keep them all, except that they insisted that each updated bundle was ‘Complete’. I’ll be honest and say I’m still not completely certain but it was clearly communicated that only the highest version file in a bundle is required.
  23. The good news is my Beautiful Box of Bones is a mere 100 miles north of me right now! The bad news is that puts it in Jacksonville, FL, which has a history, as far as I am concerned, of holding ANY package that comes through for at LEAST 24 hours, but has been known, as far as I am concerned, to hold them for as much as 48 hours. The good news is that in the recent months they seems to have gotten better about 'moving things along'. The bad news is I have way too few data points to determine if that is a persistent trend. Hopefully they'll process it tonight and send it to approximately 20 miles south of me where it will be put on a truck and go out for delivery tomorrow . . . One day early . . .
