  1. I am backing. The one thing that makes me feel better about this project is that the facebook page has been around for a while and they have been updating the whole time... The project does not seemed rushed. It feels like they have prepared and are really working to get this made. The $60,000 goal seems reasonable and the miniatures look great. I also love that they are plastic. The creators are not native English speakers which may effect communication during the kickstarter but they have stated they will have professional translators for the rule book. They also listened to advice regarding the pledge levels and seem to be continuing to do so,...

The highest pledge level just unlocked double miniatures on the expansion and already had double miniatures for the core set...

So Emperor level is now 26 miniatures x 2 + 9 miniatures x 2 = 70 miniatures, Stretch goal will unlock some more enemy models as well as more unique models...

As with any project there is always the danger that they will not fund or will fund and not deliver, but the project feels real, not a scam or an impossible project that is doomed because of lack of homework on the part of the creators...

Anyway, they are half way to the goal. I hope it funds and that they reach a lot of their stretch goals... both selfishly because I want nice minis, but also I want some successful projects to put miniature kickstarters back in the black...

  2. So, just to put my experience with CMON.

    * Relic Knights was delayed, but in the end I am happy with the price I got and the miniatures themselves. I convinced my gaming group to back and felt bad they had to wait so long though...

    * Zombicide 1- My first kickstarter ever. It was very successful and is what made me addicted to Kickstarter.

    * Zombicide 2- I wasn't as excited as Zombicide 1 as it seemed to be just more of the same, but I was happy with what I got and how fast I got it.

    * Wrath of Kings- Still waiting but haven't been aggravated much with the delay and the communication is not horrible...

I think I avoided some of the worst ones, but I am satisfied with the ones I have gotten and am disappointed with a couple I did not back, like Kaosball..

So would I buy again on any of the above? Yes, but I am a US backer and I think it is worse for International backers...

  3. Just to restate, the ogres were really nice. And shows They can make great figures... I hope the Ogre range gets expanded.... Some Ogre cavalry or some female Ogre heroes... I would love an Ogre war wagon.... brimming with muskets and saw blades.... Or maybe a Big Ogre unit... Like a giant or just beefed up ogres....

  4. From Kings of War 1 I got

    * basalean men at arm- I put one together, it was awful, the rest are still on sprues...

    * basalean sisters- put 1 together, the body is not bad but the heads and arms....

    * basalean sisters on big cats- the cats aren't bad, but the mounted sisters are like the foot sisters

    * basalean paladins- not bad. Not the greatest but not bad

    * basalean mounted paladins- don't like the horses but not bad

    * basalean angel guys- I like these guys. don't know what to use them for but pretty good

    * goblin flea bag riders- awesome... wish I had gotten more

    * goblin mincer- nice full of character

    * ogres- shooters and swordsmen- the best thing produced in the kickstarter

    * trolls- like them a lot... second to the ogres

    * gargoyles- they can pass for harpies or monstrous winged vampires

    * other stuff that was meh... not really bad or good... this includes the dwarf riders and all the metal figures...

I am glad I backed for the Ogres and goblin riders and trolls... and gargoyles. Everything else has sat in my closet... I may back kickstarter 2 but I will be more cautious... If they do something new like an all plastic clockwork army or gnome cavalry then I will plunge in... otherwise I will watch with caution....

  5. So its the night before Halloween. I took off from work today and tomorrow because I love Halloween. But, this year the kids don't want to go trick or treating. Ok so I still got scary movies to watch... but no I don't. No Michael myers on tv or even Net flix... Well ok they do have the 2 worst ones on Netflix... and 1 of the Friday the 13ths, and 1 nightmare, etc.... but when I was a kid I could see Jamie Lee Curtiss screaming on public tv... What happened? I had to pat $3 just to see Friday the 13th on demand... and they didn't have all of any of the core 80's horror giants....

So... What's your favorite scary movie?

Mine... Halloween. Michael Myers is very creepy... the first couple are really good... now when he starts kungfu fighting Busta Rhymes then perhaps the shark has been jumped...

on Netflix, I recommend The Stuff... any easy to find recommendations out there?

  6. I contacted Paizo customer service today as I placed an order last Thursday and it still shows pending. The Customer service person was extremely nice and helpful. She said that it is indeed because of the Great Golem sale and they are way backed up on orders. I figured as much but I wanted to make sure it was not a problem on my end... it was not...

So I just have to wait a little longer for my Gargantuan Blue Dragon....

  7. There was a female elven priestess on the dinosaur/cold one as well that I don't see on the kickstarter, so it may be a stretch goal. As for size, the elf huntress didn't seem noticeably larger than my reaper stuff, but to be fair, I didn't put her together when I handed her over to my friend. The miniature itself felt fragile when compared to kingdom death resin, but again that was me handling the separate pieces... Which if I remember correctly was 2 for the tiger... it was split in 2 halves... there might have been a 3rd piece for the head or jaw.... the rider was basically one piece but with a separate arm....

I am happy with the purchase. I feel she was well worth the $20 or so I got her for. Handling Darksword and kingdom death they feel larger than my "normal" minis. The Elf does not... If that helps....

I am still saving for Raging heroes, Ludus Magnas, B-Sieged and Norsgard, and possibly Rum and bones.... though so I don't know if I can get in on this.

Thought for the day... Rocky Balboa was 34 when he came back and beat Clubber Lang in Rocky 3.... and that is after Mick died... so you can do anything if you have a good training montage!

  8. hi,

I want to include some vampire minions bad guys in my game... there are several types and I am having trouble finding suitable miniatures.

type 1- think Selene and the death dealers from underworld. basically female in trench coats with small bladed weapons... I was thinking of getting the

'not selene" from hasslefree but buying a bunch of them would be cost prohibitive... I found some horror clix that might do the trick... called razorvixens.... but they are not quit right....

    Anyway, any help appreciated...

in game they are slayers (from the advanced class guide) with the alacritious template from the advanced bestiary... and wear mithral armored coats... and use short swords and throwing knives....

  9. Hey guys, I would like to participate too...

    Couple questions/thoughts...

    1) Does it HAVE to be limited to Bones? I love bones, have plenty of bones...but... I think it would be more fun if it was any mini...

    2) With my thoughts on # 1... I have some cool (and not so cool, but interesting minis) like stuff from Relic Knights, Mantic's Kings of war, I have Warlord games English civil war, Napolean era great coats, Wargames factory stuff, Warhammer Bretonians, Empire, Etc... Random metal minis like bombshell babes, reaper, Darksword, Zombicide figures, Etc...

    3) I think the fun is not knowing what people will leave and having a big option of stuff...

    4) I think there should be a thread and when you take something you post what you got...
