  1. forget TORG - these guys would work for Stargate campaigns, too! I want SG-1 figures while there is *another* company making Stargate SG-1 minis, I'd love to get some from Reaper. Then I could officially abandon my plans to convert existing Reaper minis to get what I want, since the existing line is really crudely done. just my two cents DRG YAY! Or at least a few SWAT members w/ P-90s
  2. Funny you should mention that. I was in Kansas this last weekend to visit the guy that does the CAV printing and get things back on track. There are currently pieces being converted to silver masters. The holidays might slow the silver smith a bit, but otherwise we should see some soon WHere's the love Ed, go visit John but don't even pop in to say Hi to me. You just don't love me anymore... It was a last minute shooting trip. Apparently Kansas was under attack from pumpkins and Dodge Caravans and a couple of Texans had to drive in and save the day~ What!?! that was you shooting at my mini van? texans...

  4. a little known fact about the Templars is they love football. It is a common sight to see knights playing a game after a long day of liberating suppressed citizens. Of course the use of heavy power armor and jet packs makes the game far more interesting. So of course, this is the second most popular reason why the Templars heavily employ the Flail. the first is that its the best missle boat money can buy. The H-M Duelist vs. the KDM Tiger Both unit functions fit the role of an in-fight yet the Duelist out perfer the the Tiger thanks to its near super human ability to repair. The H-M Centurion vs. the KDM Rhino While the Rhino maybe faster, tough and have a high damage profile the Centurion still beats it with good old fashion range and accrutacy(sp?) with its double barreled PBGs. The H-M Crusader vs. KDM Panther Being a heavy recon cav mean the Crusader can take far more damage then tiny panther. Toss in the near legendary self repair system the Crusader can support other unit long with its electronic warfare systems What more reasons do you need to "Knight Up"
  5. The Recluse is True Scale. They are just small CAVs. Like the Scorpion their cockpits are designed differrently. You lay down instead of seat. I prefer the true scale over the other because I think they look better.
  6. I agree about the knight. Its the most versital CAV on the market and can handle any odd job you can throw at it. My Templars never enter a fight without one. I'd also recommend the Warlord. Range, power and toughness all rounded into one beast.
  7. Kansas? Exciting... Not so much. Hey, now there will be no knockin' Kansas... not until you've lived here for a year. Then you can bad mouth it all you want. Besides, everyone knows that the best CAV players are from Kansas
  8. Like Vil said you also get access to all of the open market models. Additionally, if you went with the Templar faction any models made by Hughes-Mariette (like the Knight or the Warlord) would be considered Faction specific as per the RC '08 document and would count towards the requisite 25% faction specific model requirement to receive the Templar Faction abilities.
  9. "Relearn"? Doesn't that imply you knew the rules in the first place? Looking foward to it. 6 pm Wednesdays at the shop. Well, yeah, if you want to get technical. I believe I work morning shift next Wednesday so I should be able to make it. ok maybe next week... stupid work keep getting in the way of my fun
  10. You guys realize lot of old time CAV players take that as a slap in the face, right? Seriously. It stopped being funny like thee years ago. Amen, brother...

  12. If I ever get some time I'm gonna have to sic my lupines on ya Rascal. Of course I'll have to relearn the rules...
  13. You add the +5 to your base RAV of 4 when targeting any model without the Soft SA.
  14. True, See The DBM sorta accidently came together after a long 'bout of oddity. However, t's good that my opponents don't take me seriously, they laught at my mis-matched forces, chuckle at my rusty rhino (yes I painted my rhino to look rusted out, someday the pic will be up a www.wargamefans.net, it 's boarding on 'soon' but I understand), but then they slip up... Mu-wah-ha-ha...er. yeah, trust me I'm one of the good guys. A little fring-y but good. And the DBM works cheap! (a sliding scale fee based on income of client, situation, and deseperation plus right of salvage and enough to cover all relevent taxes...) Don't forget to post rusty Rhino on Reapergames.com
  15. Nope, my symbol is a little black cartoon bunny with yellow eyes an' a big skull on it's side. It has been, amoungst other things, my Crest since Armored Core 1 came out. It also played a crucial part in me slightly unhinging a college professor. Back on topic, thanks for the info, especialy about Stilettos (I do love multipacks) and the look like Sudan Cars, Thanks1 At least its not Clan Fuzzy Bunny
  16. I would diffinately recommend getting a SyRam Talon. Both the faction version as well as the open market are excellent choices. Usually a section of infantry with FiST upgrade is enough to handle your strike needs. If your son needs more replace a section of Kikyu with a pair of H-M Longbows.
  17. I happen to notice this while working out a few army lists. In the rulebook it states the models with bulky SA count as two models when determining section size and transport capacity. Does this mean in a Mortor Section, the most Mortor teams you can have is 3 with a minium of two models?
  18. Conspiracy theory? I got your conspiracy theory right here. In a effort to stall future development of CAV, the PTB released a flock of pigeons carrying a deadly strain of pink eye in to the sky. Furthermore, these birds were trained to seek out young children already inflicted with the Rhino virus. The mixing of the two viral agents would then mutate into a new and unstoppable super virus that would regenerate dead flesh. That's right! Reaper tried to make an army of the living dead. And it would have succeed too, had not the Health dept. begun a nation wide campaign encouraging school chi;dren to wash their hands more regularly.
  19. I think everybody got this straight, but I just wanted to be sure - we are talking about the Dragonfly, right? heehee Obviously, Chrome has been working way too hard at his day job. I really liked the idea of using gunship as spotters. Zoom in, get the target lock then race for cover.
  20. CAV is suppose to be a combine arms game so yeah your going to have rules that encourage a mix of units. If you had one unit that could do everything then what would be the point of having any other units?
  21. Am I missing something where this would be useful? Just a fast example of how to use it in a flight section would be great. I don't want to shove it into a Specialist squad just to make use of it. Or are there changes we haven't seem to either CFP, or section make-up (i.e. you can take ANY recon model in a Fire Support section or something). Just tyring to figure it out. Mike At least I can access Reaper from the Middle-East! Only hit 109 today! I'm guessing they're changing fire support section makeup to allow gunships to be included. The Dragonfly is an impressive bug even if it can only certainly employ its CFP in a Specialist section. With a 5 against hard targets it make a nasty little hunter-killer. That wouldn't make much sense, though, as no gunships carry actual IF weapons. Though the +5 vs. hard is nice, I just hate having to pay for something that won't get used. You don't need IFM to use CFP. The Dragonfly is a forward observer. It buzzes around spotting for your fire support units, freeing them up to preform other actions like move, repair, scratch their butts or whatever they need to do. Of course, you'll want to add FRS to them when used as such as well as pair them with a EST unit. This'll raise the cost of the Dragonfly to that of a low end recon CAV but you'll have a model that can damage a hard target unlike most recon units.
  22. Silly Terran... If your not taking any infantry with you then your not using your doctrine to its fullest potential since all infanrty get a free FiST SA.

  24. Unless, the Fire Support Section is errata to allow Gunships, then the Dragonfly has a SA that can only be used in a specialist section. I'm pretty sure that's not the intent. So something is in error.
